- Historian Art Burton has spent much of his life on the trail of the elusive lawman’s life. Reeves’s life from slave to deputy U.S. marshal serving the Western District of Arkansas in the Indian and Oklahoma territories in the last decades of the 19th century is extraordinary, but the truth about his life has not been published in detail until the last 30 years.
Bob Boze Bell is known as America's Western Storyteller. He is an artist, author, writer and serves as executive editor of True West magazine. Bell is a popular, sought-after figure in television documentaries about the Old West, appearing as an expert in dozens of Wild West history shows. Bell won an Emmy Award as Executive Producer of the PBS special, Outrageous Arizona, a zany look at the state's centennial, that he also wrote and helped direct. As an author, Bell has brought to life Billy the Kid, Geronimo, Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp and Wild Bill Hickok in his best-selling Illustrated Life and Times series. His books Classic Gunfights I, II and III are must-reads about the most important Old West gunfights. Bell’s Bad Men is now in its fourth printing, while his illustrated autobiography, The 66 Kid: Raised on the Mother Road, gives personal insight into the passions that have driven him on his lifelong quest to interpret the history of the American West for audiences around the world.

Thanks Bob. Why does Hollywood always mess up an incredible story, just the facts and good acting, this story is a masterpiece.
Because they call the shots on propaganda.
That miniseries is absolutely wonderful
Mr. Bass Reeves was a brave and amazing gentleman
Always a pleasure sir! Thanks!
Love me some Bass Reeves. 💕💕💕
growing up (in part ) in Texas Ranger circles this is a well known story that has deserved attention for many decades... may God bless his memory !!
As a black man in my 60s, I am completely outraged that I only heard about Bass Reeves less than a decade ago...he would have been my biggest hero as a kid if I had known about him...
This was fantastic Sir, I really enjoyed this!!!!!
Yes!! BBB , this is a fantastic issue!!!. ❤
Very nice as usual Bob....Very best len. Come play in Quartzsite Az!!!
I had the opportunity to appear before Administrative Law Judge Paul Brady representing employers before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission for a number of trials. Bass Reeves was Judge Brady’s great great uncle and I had several conversations about Reeves with the Judge. He had researched the family history and had written about the marshal. If I remember correctly, the Judge told me about Reeves bringing in one of his sons.
I’ve been waiting so long for this upload! 😄😄😄
⭐ Bass Reeves, as interesting as any Historical figure of the West, for Fort Smith, Arkansas was absolutely considered the Wild West at the time.
His persona is captivating, his works heroic, and his life a series of ups and downs, like most who pursue their desires.
3000 arrests, that has to be a record. 🏆

dang ole drummer.
Hollywood always messes with real historical figures, and costumes. I wish they would leave the real story alone because that is just as entertaining, and fascinating to watch.
Thanks for this. Seen the series. It was ok. Truth mixed with Hollywood fantasy. Btw, you should play black bart in a movie. You look just like him!
Some movies on Tom Three-Persons would also be good.
Mr Bell I'm curious about what are your thoughts on the upcoming western Guns 3 Alias Billy The Kid that is currently still in the works?
Yeah new video
When you hear Bass is coming, give yourself up.
I still don't understand how he became a feared gunfighter. Was it just the one instance at the " OK Carrol". Just asking.
I thought the first four episodes were mostly accurate, last 4 pure nonsensical
Morgan Freeman had been pushing for a Bass Reeves movie for over a decade, he wanted to play the part of Bass, but Hollywood never produced.
I thought the lone ranger was vased on Pancho, who killed Bonnie and Clyde. An amazing lawman.
One thing that was left out of the series was
Mr. Bass Reeves arrested his own son so yo keep the bounty hunters from killin him.
Im enjoying the series, but the actor is way too small.
Why would anyone not like the lyrics “You don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger” I thought they were cool!
I thought the series was good but just like any other movie based on history there's things that are not based on fact
The series was a little too woke, I couldnt finish it. I do like the genuine story of Bass though
Agreed
