    Not the biggest fan of Letterman, but the Late Night Orchestra with Michael Martin Murphy is the best performance of any "Late Night Show" I have ever seen. They nailed both songs with true passion and emotion in their playing. I hope the audience roared for more to show some ultimate respect!

As other commenters have already stated, this performance was arguably the best I've ever seen on a late night program. C-l-e-a-r-l-y, all of the performers were deeply wrapped into what they were playing and the smiles on their faces reflect what the audience was also feeling. As with others, my thanks for posting this marvelous performance.

    Mid-1970’s 3M played “Wildfire” without accompaniment at a Hillsborough Ave bar in Raleigh, NC. Mostly college audience was rude to him but he was professional and a virtuoso singer/guitarist. He earned my respect & admiration that night. Still has it! Inspiring & beautiful song!

    This is a great song, and Paul Schaeffer is totally underrated as a musician. I know that people respect him and everything, but he's got talent that allows him to play with anyone, and he could have been part of several HUGE bands. This was his destiny, and I think some folks think he "settled". He didn't.

    I was a Junior in HS when this song was popular. I’d spend a lot of weekends with my sister who was living in Austin at the time. Back then, this wasn’t considered “country” music. It was referred to Cosmic Cowboy. And there was a deep album cut rock radio station in Austin back them…KLBJ-FM…and it would play this song, followed by Wishbone Ash, The Dead, the Beatles, then maybe Thin Lizzy. No one batted an eyed.
    The mid 70’s were a particularly cool tine to be in Austin. It was a cultural hodgepodge then. I moved there in mid-79 as punk & new age was coming into its own. Good times

    Hey band leader....get rid of that bass player( he's just a drag ) & combine keyboards with lower register bass keys to substitute for the bass guitar. It's dumb to keep paying for that knucklehead when you don't need him.

    • @ftjax

    • @fosbury68
      @fosbury68 9 років тому +1

      ftjax The Ed Sullivan Theater is not a "small venue". And I don't doubt that when you played bass it was boring. Will Lee is an excellent bass player. Go to an audiologist, he can help you with those tin ears.
