Hardly anyone covers this song because Eric Burdon and the Animals own it. No one can touch it -everyone knows he sang it into a masterpiece. It's his forever.
Have you heard The white buffalo´s cover of this song?
Leo Moracchioli did a good job. Nobody can top Burdon but Leo is the best metal cover out there for any song.
Everyone just sings his version
Hardly anyone covers it? 😂 There are like a million covers of it
Eric's in his 80's now and still has that amazing voice. I still go to see him any time he's in the area. "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" was a huge hit by them and an anthem for our soldiers in Viet Nam.
I have many more memories of that song. It is often fun to make note of which songs you played over and over on an album, and which ones are still around now or made it to the 'greatest hits' album. Seldom the same.
I think Eric is retired -been living in Greece
A boy 23 years old.And what a power in his voice.
Even at 61 I don't consider 23 a boy. Then again, at 23 going through Parachute School at Fort Benning I was considered the old man in my group
He is singing from the diaphragm. I was taught to sing that way in my high school chorus. It honestly was a huge help in my athletic undertakings and helped my endurance while racing motorcycles. It fills your lungs completely with each breath.
The military teaches you to give commands using the diaphragm, carries farther while still being understood.
One of THE best British bands of the 60's.
"I've got one foot on the platform, the other foot on the train. I'm going back to New Orleans to wear that ball and chain."
One of my favorite rock lyrics. So evocative.
Goes waaaay before that; first recorded in 1925, but its origins can be traced back to the 1800s.
Love watching you react to these classics of music history! Keep up all your fantastic work and thank you for all you do! 😊
Hey Adrianna I'm glad you are listening to the Animals cover version of
the House of the Rising Sun which i think is the best of them of my
favorite rock bands of the 60's and Eric Burdon is a great blues rock
singer and the best musicians playing in the Animals in this video
have a very Beautiful week and Thank You very much Adrianna.
👋👋🎵🎶🎼🎤🎸🎸🎹🥁🎼🎶🎵👋👋
Great reaction to an all time classic!
Yes, as you noticed and commented on, the keyboards were originally back by the drum kit. The reason why guitarist Hilton Valentine was grinning and laughing at the end was that once the camera was not aimed at Alan Price and his keyboard a couple of stagehands came in and pushed the whole setup up to the front for that final shot while Alan Price continued to play as if nothing was happening, which had to look funny. The entire video was done in one take as they had limited time in the studio, so they had to do it right the first time.
This phenomenal song goes back to the early 1900s OR POSSIBLY EARLIER. So many people covered this song, however, this version was the very most popular. In the 1960s, this was the most played song in the pool hall I frequented. In fact, the Animals had the most played songs in Wally's pool hall. Try some of their other hits like WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE, WHEN I WAS YOUNG, and DON'T LET ME BE MISUNDERSTOOD. The Animals really resonated with the rebel crowd.
As was typical on tv broadcasts back in the day, the group is actually miming to a studio recording. That's why, Adrianna, the keyboardist moves about with the group, who were all completely unplugged!
Nonetheless, TheAnimals was a great group, and Eric Burdon is a fantastic singer.
Hi! My first time here and I was not disappointed! Awesome reaction and I look forward to more. You have great energy 🫶
This was live, on a television show and no autotune just pure talent.
No cords in guitars, how? I think they're lip-syncing.
@@dedcowbowee Definitely.. this is them miming to the recording. Still no autotune though because it didn't exist before 1998.
FIRST BEAUTIFUL! Thx for the link.
Such an Amazing classic! You're sooo adorable! ❤
This girl is glowing! 😍
I was 8 years old when i father taught me to play this song on his Höfner Guitar back in 1977, still have the Guitar for more than just to play it but for sentimentality, I miss my father, he died too soon aged 63, 20 years ago. he taught me many sixties songs to play such as Apache and The Savage from The Shadows and Everly brothers songs the memories are coming back now.. Another Animals song i loved and sang with my unit when we served in the Angolan war for the South African defense force back in the 80's was "We Got to get outta this place" (if its the last thing we ever do.......😊
my Dad RIP love the Animals i like this song great reaction from a gorgeous Adrianna, yeah Eric Burdon looks like a teenager with a grown up mans vocals. the word you´re looking for is Vocal coach 🙂
This song is an old traditional American folk tune but it became famous oddly enough by a band from north east England!
This is a traditional song dating back at least to the mid-1800's, rumored to be authored by a young woman who tells her own biography. This version is the most famous arrangement of the song, but its lyrics were changed. My favorite arrangement is by Shawn Mullins (2006) who sings the traditional lyrics. The Blind Boys of Alabama also recorded a fantastic version of Amazing Grace to this tune in 2008.
The mayor of new Orleans, had just managed to clean up the town of brothels at the time, and this song brought all the memories back, and he was not happy at the band.
I love your reaction to the animals song ❤❤❤
A version of this song was known to U.S. coal miners around 1900 and the song has origins that reach back over 200 years.
Adrianna, i really enjoy your reactions. They are very genuine, and i love that you appreciate the great music from the past, another group that i would strongly suggest would be Deep Purple, and the song i recommend is " Child In Time" there is an incredible live version video from 1970, instant classic ! and Ian Gillan ( vocals ) still one of the best today ! i think it would make a great reaction video for you, and i think you will enjoy it very much ^_^
I got to see them perform in Jan '71 at a small Ag & Tech College in Cobleskill, NY.
I have watched this a million times and each time I wonder how they kept it together miming...... nothing plugged in but still going through the motions. Must have killed them!
Don’t worry about it. I’m not a vocal coach either. I always just say he has soul in his voice. Great reaction 👍🏻
'A WhiterShade Of Pale' by ProcolL Harum. The later version is them singing with a full orchestra beneath a large blue & white striped tent....somewhere over in Europe. A beautiful and haunting song. One of two songs I remember by them from back in the 1960s The lead singer, who's name I can't remember....sounded just like he did back then.
I think the later version is terrible , his voice is thin & the use of an orchestra is to hide that fact . Anyone who is interested in the old rock tunes should definitely hear the original as we heard then 50 years ago
You're thinking of Gary Brooker. Gotta love his vocals. He also sang the song "Limelight" with the Alan Parson's Project
This is the most popular cover/version of a VERY old folk song, dating back to the 1600s. Depending on the version, the House of the Rising Sun is either a gambling den or bordello.
There was no house of the rising sun in New Orleans in 1600.
@@wendellwelling2896 Then it was set in London. Its an English folk song that was 'moved' to America, with details changed along the way. Even the name of the establishment changed over time. The central theme remained - a house of ruin, stay away.
Hi Adrianna. Please listen from Boston "Moore than a feeling" and from Exile "Kiss you all over". Nice love songs.
Eric Burdon, singer was 23 when The Animals played this song live on TV
awesome reacton....and you are so beautiful!! wow!! liked and subbed
YOU MUST Listen to the other songs from The Animals such as “WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE, SAN FRANCISCO, SKY PILOT”, ETC.. (but watch the live videos) AND listen to the song and live video of “SPILL THE WINE” with the Band WAR!
Very cool song!!
One of my most favorite classic rock songs of all time.
Hey Adrianna, I noticed a copy of "Seat of the soul" behind you, Amazing book! A paradigm shift for me.
BTW...I am an American of Lithuanian descent, your cousins from up above 😋🍀
Brazil aquiii ❤
This song (not this video) was recorded in ONE take! It was perfect then and still is today.
The song has an interesting history which has been extensively written up on Wikipedia if you’re interested probably began as an old English folk song based around a pub called the rising Sun in Suffolk. eastern England. The animals took this song to number one in Uk and Us 1964.
They were one of several bands just below the Beatles and The Rolling Stones like the kinks The Who The Hollies The Searchers they here explain a better
The story goes that they recorded this in under an hour and the cost was only about £20 in today’s money to hire the studio
So great song that even my easy piano cover sounds good!! 😉
I love yooouuuu
Tarzan 1999 full length reaction 😭😭🤣
Do you have any snow in the forest already? Here in the southern part of Sweden we had it for a week or so, it's early this year.
Yes a little little but there is, it’s absolutely beautiful 😍
Hahah true however I’m back in my hometown for holidays ☺️☃️✨
❤❤❤
You are gorgeous!
greetings from mexico :)
Adrianna, you should make a habit of walking in the woods. You're glowing even more than usual.
hey adrianna, here's a suggestion for you, DIRE STRAITS, SULTANS OF SWING, live in 1983, Alchemy tour.
❤❤❤❤❤
I feel that you would appreciate 'Eve of Destruction by Barry McGuire' - a very strong anti war recording
5 bad boys from the wronf side of the traxks in my home town. Newcastle in North East England.
Eric Burdon is a phenomenal singer & had a huge career.
Alan Price (keyboard) was rhe musical talent of the band & went on to fame as a solo performer & songwriter. Chas Chandler (bass) became a huge A&R man and is credited as the man who "discovered" Jimi Hendrix.Hilton Valentine (guitar) moved to America & tried a few different musical projects but never reallt found much success after The Animals, but apparently it was him who came up with the iconic arpeggio guitar riff for rhe intro to the song. . John Steel (drums) never really did anything in show business aside from those early records with The Animals. He went on to be a school teacher.
john Steel has been playing with---the Animals & Friends for years-look it up
@@crazypainter56 Nobody cares about tragic reunion bands tho do they. Well, except for morons. Look it up.
here are the lyrics ;There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and a trunk
And the only time he'll be satisfied
Is when he's on a trump
Oh, mother, tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun
Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one
Since you loved this, you need to check out the song called the Letter by the Boxtops.
Nobody expects the Beast of Burdon! Bass player Chas Chandler went on to manage Hendrix. It is the Alan Price Organ solo that always rings in my mind however.
Oh! I leave a sugestion. To see one of the places Burdon ended up, try a tune from the Side 3 of Eric Burdon & War's "The Black-Man's Burdon". The sequence from "Sun/Moon" to "Pretty Colours" to "Gun" is a beautiful thing to behold. Or just take a chance on one of them!
Eric Burden joined WAR later on, but have you heard "Low Rider" he's not in the band at that time, but it's still a classic! 😊
Being from the land of Frederic Chopin you can appreciate those keyboards.
The Bluest Blues by Alvin Lee ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This song was sung on one take. They were in England being a frint group for bigger group. They only had a few hours off to tape this. Amazing considering today's group.
they were in Newcastle for the Chuck Berry tour and when they played "THOTRS " there was a big reaction-Management said-Go to London and record it-ASAP
This is a very old song, from well before the Animals. In '64 these were long-haired rebels by the standards of the society of the time. New Orleans was, since the 1700s, the main port serving the interior of the north American continent via the Mississippi River. And the House of the Rising Sun was a whorehouse. Other versions of this worth listening to, Bob Dylan (folky, off his first album), Leadbelly (from the '30s) Dolly Parton, (from a woman's perspective), Frijid Pink (psychedelic). Other Animals songs of note; "Sky Pilot". "Don't let me be Misunderstood", "San Francisco", "It's my Life", "When I was Young", "Monterey" (contains this greatest line ever - if you want to find the truth in life, don't let music pass you by)
There was a pretty good Disco Flamenco cover of this, and "Don't let me be misunderstood," by Santa Esmerelda. Give them a listen.
Hello, Eric Burton is a known " Belter ". Check out their version of " Tobacco Road ".
Gigi de Lana did a superb cover with her band the Gigi Vibes.
🥰
The word is"soul"!
not the piano guy-Vox continetal organ played by Alan Price
I've got 3 of 'em (and a Vox Jaguar, too)
@@SamSteinigHad a Jaguar was falling apart -back in the 70's-contacts and key bed-had to prop key bed up to play it
@@crazypainter56 I play a Jag regularly w/my current combo :)
I have another combo just like a Jag--= different name-- same voice tabs etc.
@@crazypainter56 Would that be a "Howard?" That's the one I know that has the same voice tabs as a Jag
Suggestion: “One Night In Bangkok” !

It's about a house full of vice in New Orleans ie drugs, prostitution and gambling. He's saying his dad attended this place and it's also in his blood/dna
You should check out Procal Harem Whiter Shade of Pale. It is an amazing song. You'll love it. I promise
MEGADETH - Symphony Of Destruction HD (That one night Live in Buenos Aires) - when u hear and c the audience singing in unison:

Hey pretty lady I say that because I mean it, I'm old school I was forgenot to see bands back in the day, in case you have not heard of this artist check him out Stevie Ray vahan live at the Capitol Theater 1985 "life with out you" I wanted to share this you will be Amazed. Be cool stay safe.
Charlie Daniel’s band: the devil went down to Georgia, that song is iconic you will absolutely love that song
The house was a gambling den, as well as a brothel . The best of both worlds to take your money.😅😅
That's Eric, 23, looking 17 and sounding 45. Great reaction.
Try listen too the song " creep " by postmodern jukebox sung by haley rienhart. Will knock your socks off if you wear any !
Hi. where can I send a link to a song you will 100% freak out to? Amazing voice and lead guitar playing. Incredible voice range. I don't want to spoil it by posting the link here. Thank you.

You need to do a reaction to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird
can you do a reaction to tupac"s song "life goes on"
Послушай UFO "Beladonna", красотка.
The bass player later became Jimi Hendrix's manager.
Eric burdon vocal.chas Chandler bass.hilton Valentine guitar.john steel drums
Alan price keyboard.chas and Hilton are gone.eric still performs.
Done in one take
The word you’re looking for is cojones. ❤
Good on you to pick up on the fact that the Organ player was originally by the Drummer
They wheeled the keyboardist across the stage. That's why the guitarist was smiling towards the end of the video. No cuts and done in one take.
Eric Burdon and the Animals were a good group, I think the first recording was in 1933 by Tom Ashley & Gwen Foster. As a Singer once I think you mean he sang from his Diaphragm
Anyway: Do you know that their about to sing?
No?
The ‚House of the rising sun‘ is an acronym of a brothel 😉
Favorite bands , Early Black Sabbath , Led Zepplin , Grateful Dead , Santana , Boston , REO Speedwagon . Just to many to list . If you continue reaction videos , you wont find a better decade than the 70's . The variety of music from that decade will never be seen again .
"I just came back from the forest." Heh. That's such a European way of saying it.
The lead singer, I think was 17-18 when he recorded this
Check out Godsmack Unforgettable
If you wanna hear a harder version check out Five Finger Death Punch
