I got one for free last year that included the rear speakers. The CD player wasn’t working. I opened it up and realized the lens had come loose. I retrieved it from inside the unit, glued it back in place and everything works perfectly now. I use it daily, I love it! I never could’ve afforded this when it came out so I’m super happy to have a fully functional one now for free. It’s an EU version with the 2 disc changer. I have it plugged into a step-up/down converter just to be safe. Have a record player and my tv plugged into it. It sounds better than any modern audio equipment I own.
That’s fascinating that you say it sounds better than any modern equipment you own. I’m looking to get my hands on some retro hifi for the same reason, I’ve not been impressed with any modern hifi but I thought it was just down to nostalgia. Spotify sound quality just doesn’t come close to how I remember CDs sounding back in the day
I had one as well. I used to love this stereo system until the CD player broke. I tried fixing it myself but it only made it worse and it left me distraught. I ultimately ended up throwing it away after having it for about 20 years. One of my favorite features that wasn't mentioned was the DJ mode on the tape deck. I loved how you could program it to over dub each song during the recording process to give you seamless tracks phasing into each other. I believe the feature actually sped up or slowed down the songs slightly for the beat to match up as much as it could without altering the music. I don't recall any other system having this feature. Also the auto reverse play so you wouldn't have to flip over the tapes. Now that I think about it, the tape deck was the second thing that stopped working on me which was also a drag, but that likely had to do with wear and tear as well as age. Even the CD program feature was amazing. You could put in your six discs and program them to play anyway you wanted without ever having to manually change the discs. It brought me many years of enjoyment.
I still have mine which I bought in 1992 during my student days. Mine has the 2-discs CD player. It is still in tip top condition, hooked to my 4K tv and 2 Roth Oli-3 floor standing speakers. Love it!
I still have mine but the speakers rotted in storage, so I picked up a couple cs-r580 100watt tower speakers for it. 32 years of service. Well worth whatever I paid for it.
Great review thanks for showing it I just purchased one of these because I love 90s audio kit , works brilliantly mine had the centres of the speakers pressing and easily fixed by dab of super glue on your finger and pull them out just be careful . Thanks for showing .
Thanks for the support, we upload videos weekly showing off our collections of vintage equipment.. if you know of any mates that'd enjoy our content please share it with them !:)
Hi mate I’ve got that very system. But when I switch it on it goes off after a couple of seconds. Can you tell me why and how to fix it the system is in pristine condition.
Can anyone recommend any compatible bookshelf speakers for this system? I was thinking maybe some Mission Electronics. Never been 100% happy with the sound since I bought it in the 90s.
Picked this up last summer off a guy on FB Marketplace. $80CAD. Was in great condition. I was surprised that he had the remote for it, as it wasn't in the photos. The remote is a bit beat up, but works without issue (and no battery acid 😀). The speakers in North America are a bit different than yours. The grills are plain, with no Pioneer badge. Instead, I have a pair of plastic bases (
Actually, the speaker model I have is different: S-P510V. Maybe it's a later revision. The cones are different, with the tweeter completely different. They similar to the ones found in a video titled "PIONEER CT-P410 PLAY KASET TAPE", with speaker S-P410V. I actually found a half-working P410 system from a thrift store, which had speakers. I have to refoam them, though.

I don’t recall them releasing a turntable for this model. I use a Pro-ject deck with separate phono amp as my phono input on the Pioneer has an annoying hum.
Are there advanced radio systems like that one with blue tooth and USB with remote , if available let me know where to find it or how to order it online iam here in Dubai 🇦🇪 UAE
..PLEASE HELP! My A-P510 amp blew years ago,and I REALLY want to resurrect my fav hifi. But how? All internal fuses look ok. I have changed 10 amp plug fuse, yet it wont switch back on. Do I buy another of E Bay for £30-ish? It blew one day when my electrics went pop at the meter. It was on low volume at that time so no overload happened? I have many, many old band tapes I would love to put on digital, and my present hifi substitute just aint got the grace or finesse of this beauty Y.no?
im a drummer who had excact same problem with prercious gig/rehearsal tapes of now departed people. Before i replaced the amp, all fuses were ok but wouldnt come on? My mate tried a 5 amp fuse at plug and hey presto it bloody worked fine for 18 months? Ive now replaced amp (due to pissed up idiot using silver foil around a inner fuse!) and still using 5 amp fuse in wall socket! god knows how or why but it is so. Ive also took volume up to 3 quarters on dial when playing drums to music on equal volumes-with no problems or blowb fuses. Worth a try if you havent yet sorted it out? good luck...keep on rockin!
Je possède 4 pièces de ce système ,excepter le lecteur cassette et les colonnes de sons .Je me demander combien est sa valeur .Note il est super en passant.

The two disc tray is the one I have and is much better quality than the 5 disc changer. The Pioneer rep advised me against going for the 5 CD one.

What Pioneer model Turntable would go with this please, as trying to find one to match my A-P710 System ???
