Nothing this time. Although I did use a vintage Canon FL 28mm f/3.5 lens to film myself. Fun fact: They're mildly radioactive due to the thorium glass used.

Pretty confident I will never buy anything like this, and I don't even tinker with tech all that much. I do find it all interesting though and love learning more. Just discovered your channel after getting recommended your SATA express video a week ago that seems to have pleased the youtube recommendations algorithm! Haha
Anyways I'm just working through bingewatching all your videos. I love your super chill demeanor and the incredible amount of knowledge you have on computer hardware. Subscribed with all notifications on. Please never stop making videos!
Big fan of Dell's service tags, can look up the exact and very detailed spec.
Have got a few bargains on ebay this way, not sure if the same thing applies for their servers.
Great video! I also like taking bets on auctions, hoping they will contain some interesting hardware. Maybe do a followup on how to find more exotic stuff in really old industrial equipment?
I like this frome of video hope to see more in the future 👍
Onboard wifi is actually a really good indicator for more modern stuff if your grasping for clues like USB 3 or whatnot and not sure on an items age.
Your a bit less likely to see onboard wifi on server and enterprise hardware overall. However it's still a valid clue.
Onboard ethernet NICs are another clue. Anything faster than gigabit is a dead giveaway its relevant still.
And the best thing about those asus WS boards is many have VERY expensive PLX chips on them for extra PCIE lanes. Those boards go for a pretty penny
Thanks bro, I love you.
Nice investigative work! I do wonder what kind of software this would have been running to justify the high specs!
I wouldnt be counting on ryzen and whatever their implementation of ECC support is. It's a mess. Pay up for epyc or a xeon
It's dependant on the motherboard maker supporting it. Works great on my Gigabyte board with a Pro APU.
Just subbed ! Hi big guy!
really interesting, thank you :)
I would like a longer video for the search process too
You have advanced Google Fu!
How did you know it was Asus?
The MAC address lookup. :D
nowadays you can buy a 32 core and 64 thread epyc + supermicro mobo for under 1000 dollars on ebay so only really buy old boards when it's worth it (for example pci for scsi setup)
