Appreciate that! Hopefully more in due time!
83-63, gets to 20 because Gonzaga lets the bench eat for the final 4 minutes.
Definitely could see that happening! Love the prediction
" Final 4" minutes is fitting. Against USC the Zags went into cruise mode in the 2nd half.
Muuuch closer
93-90
The Zags play perfect team basketball . It's fun to watch them pass it around and make the right play.
Poetry in motion!
Suggs is like a QB on the basketball court & yes I know he can play football (QB) plus I think Zags have lot of good shooting players that can pass the ball really well & play good team defense look at USC game 6'10 Timme had like 3 steals in the beginning of the game that's usually guards job of stealing the ball but Zags get off too a great start the fast paced tempo Zags start rocking & rolling then other teams call timeouts for slowing down that tempo ain't gonna happen they are really disciplined team that stays focused on winning games go Zags!
@@geno1825 reason why ohio state offered him a scholarship to play qb
@@DM-sc9rg I'm really happy he chose basketball otherwise he wouldn't be on Zags team & without him I don't think they would be where they're at right now
Keep that tension! Zags need to always remember Danny Manning against heavily favored Oklahoma, the tortoise (vs the infamous hare), UMBC over Virginia, etc.... Stay strong, humble and play alert and tapped in for every second or the basketball gods will humiliate you (that goes for all of us in our respective fields).
Great points, this team has done an incredible job this year in both staying humble and staying locked in. March will jump all over any team that is not at their best.
No Casey at the bat. Please!
My dad and I are huge Zag fans, watch every game and discuss it at length. The first video I watched of yours was your preview of the creighton game and was impressed at how accurate your analysis and predictions ended up being. I’ve been telling my dad about this great UA-cam channel and today my dad and I were talking and realized we both watch your channel! He actually discovered it before I did. We love your guys’ analysis and breakdowns.
How about that USC game though... I really was nervous. I thought we would struggle with rebounds and were going to have to mentally power through our shots getting blocked into the stands. Gonzaga just came out in full assault. WOW. USC had a grand total of ZERO blocks. The Zags had 3! And “one of the tallest teams in the country” had 29 rebounds... and the Zags grabbed 41. Totally way beyond what I expected. Zags got dudes!!!
And how about that Ayayi one handed dunk?!?!??? My dad and I hold Joel near and dear to our hearts. We just love him.
Thank so you much! Absolutely love hearing that you both are enjoying the channel!
The Zags definitely have dudes, and those dudes heard alll of that talk about USC! They came out on absolute fire and looked like they had something to prove. This team is a scary sight for anyone when they are focused and locked in. We really believed their passing would be able to keep the Trojans defense at bay, and those 21 assists did just that! The rebounding....well that’s just pure heart and determination by the Zags, love to see it!
That Joel dunk was the perfect cherry on top!
Suggs had 10 rebounds & they have another guard Joel Ayayi that had 19 rebounds in a game so I think for a team with not a lot of height they can rebound the ball that really helps with extra shot opportunities & on the defensive boards rebounds help the defense out (68 points allowed on defense) & people don't realize Zags have #1 offense with a #8 defense in college so it helps out winning ball games lot of Zag haters on the east coast & hopefully they can bring home national championship game back to Spokane Washington because I'll be waiting at the college or will be waiting for a parade downtown if Inslee allows it because of covid shutdown go zags 4 down two to go with one game at time only teams standing in the way are UCLA/Baylor/Houston
@@geno1825 represent Spokane literacy with an occasional punctuation mark
Gonzaga looking strong
Great analysis! The Bruins are as outmatched as the 1980 US Hockey team was against the Soviets in the quarterfinals at Lake Placid. “Play your game”
It’s March and anything can happen, that is for sure!
I like the coffee cups. The handles point one way.
I’m here after the game, wow that was crazy
One of the best games I’ve ever seen, incredible performance by both teams! The definition of March!
You were so right about Suggs being the best passer in the country and then he makes what will probably go down in history as the best pass in March Madness history after and incredible block. Then he hits the game winner, buzzer beater. I would say that was pretty good game for Mr. Suggs.
Love your guys’ analysis, both of the Zags and other teams as well. Keep it up and I think the combination of your professional-quality setup, good analysis, and the Zags’ growing national attention is gonna pay off.
Thank you! Really appreciate hearing that. We are having a ton of fun talking basketball and thankful you are enjoying it!
Gonzaga averages 12 points every 5 mins in this game. Scores 96 points.
Love the prediction! This Zags offense is definitely capable of that
I predicted Timme would impress I didn't think it would be that impressive lol... I think overall what separates THIS Gonzaga team from great teams of their past is when they slump a little offensively, both Suggs and Timme can just go create an easy bucket whether by their defense or skill, whereas great teams of the past could be slowed or disrupted if you could get them out of rhythm by defense slowing tempo... what is scary is they are not even playing their A game yet, as far as shooting % and 3 point shooting go (I hope we see their A game in the championship haha)
Absolutely agree, this team still has a gear or two left that NOBODY wants to see. The poise of this team is something special, and the star power definitely helps as well
Go Bruins.
94 - 67 because the zags won't miss a bunch of easy layups a 2nd game in a row. Definitely a Timme game....again.
Gotta agree on another Timme game! Going to be a tough task for UCLA to slow him down
The 94 was pretty close
But 67 not so much
@@ryanamburgy2791 Wow was I ever wrong about ucla. That team did absolutely everything they needed to do to win
@@YoungusSC and yet they still failed 😩
@@ryanamburgy2791 failed no. Just ran out of time. They were amazing.
Zags by 20
I appreciate the in-depth analysis, versus simply regurgitating the past commentary throughout the NCAA tournament about UCLA and Gonzaga. I found a ton of commentators have struggled with Jaime Jaquez's last name. However, you have "Jamie" in your video. Thanks and looking forward to hopefully a better game than the one against SC. Go BRUINS!
Thank you! We definitely focused on making sure we had his last name correct and realized after that we missed on his first name. He’s a great player and he’s had a fantastic tournament! Looking forward to a great game!
Been waiting on this video
Appreciate that! Be sure to subscribe if you haven't, we've got plenty more coming!
You forgot to mention UCLA is winning without Chris Smith, and Jalen Hill.
We mentioned losing Chris Smith but left out his name as his name wasn’t in the notes and didn’t want to butcher it. Did miss on Jalen Hill though. Makes UCLA’s improbable run that much more impressive
Thanks for watching man, appreciate it!
UCLA won by DEFAULT since Alabama failed over 50% at free throws and Michigan missed the last 8 shots. Congrats for sucking less than those 2 teams.
We're winning without them too.
@@joinjen3854 Keep the excuses going, lmao
@@ItzJoker06 lets make a bet. Can UCLA lose by only single digits to the Zags?
Zags are going to bring the 2021 NCAA Basketball Championship to Spokane
Gonzaga destroys what's left of California 81-59
Love it, agree that the Zags defense is going to cause major issues
@@upperleftsports Fun Fact for you.... All time NCAA tourney, Zags are 28-6 when wearing White Jerseys. Since 2014, they are 20-1 when wearing White. :)
Best analysis but Jaquez can cover a tall guard as well as Bernard !

Entry Gonzaga.
Huh?
@@tofty17 they are
Beyond college.
@@garrywilliams1973 oic what you were going for
I'd say the biggest thing to watch out for: Zags havent been pressured yet, UCLA has. If the Zags are put in a rough spot late will they have the mental toughness to keep hitting shots?
I think the Zags still have too many go to guys who can just go get a bucket. That being said it’s a reasonable question, I just don’t know if UCLA is the team to put them in that situation. That would require UCLA to play 35+ minutes of winning basketball, do you think they can get the Zags to that pressure situation?
There’s a reason they haven’t been pressured yet lol
@@upperleftsports I think they are uniquely qualified to pressure Gonzaga. They match up size wise at every position fairly well and are excellent at controlling the pace of a game. The only major size discrepancy is at the point guard position and I they may just bring in Singleton to match up with Suggs. Also, UCLA takes extremely good care of the ball. Gonzaga pulled away in part early because USC turned it over 6 times. As for 35 minutes of good basketball? They already took down michigan state and alabama in OT, we know they can play an entire game as well as kept michigan to 49 points. Now, I'm not saying ucla will win. I do think if Jaquez and Bernard show up to play it'll be a super close game.
Appreciate the thought out opinion!
UCLA does have good length, but remember that USCs length didn’t really affect them. Aside from what you said, I do believe that Timme will be a major problem for Riley down low. Riley has fouled quite a bit during the tourney so it will be key for him to stay on the floor.
USC averaged just over one more TO a game compared to UCLA as well, so it will be interesting to see how UCLA does on that end of things.
I do 100% agree that Jaquez and Bernard will need to support Juzang. Looking forward to a great game!
Dude, you're delusional. UCLA is way overmatched . Figure it out. Gonzaga is all-time great; UCLA shouldn't even be in the Final Four.
I've heard people say the Zags played poorly in the second half... after the game was basically in hand. USC coach said they would have to win the first 5 minutes of the second half and at that mark they were down 23. The Zags started getting sloppy and trying full court passes with a 20 point lead. Then they took the foot off the gas the last 6 minutes and started chewing up clock. Enter the scrubs at the 1:30 mark.
Those are mostly 4 star recruits seeing the court at the end of that game, far from scrubs. This Zags team sure is talented!
@@upperleftsports word. Clearing the bench of all the 4 stars
82*62 Gonzaga
It's time for Kispert to have a big time senior game. How about a couple games
Zags by 25 🤝
What you smoking
Zags by 3...
Gonzgaga: one loss and no national championship. Stroke your mustache all you want, Timee - your just one of many runner-ups.
Just curious if somehow the Bruins keep it close, how does Gonzaga deal with pressure? Even the greatest team I remember, who I think was the closest comparison Tarks UNLV team with Grandmama, Stacey Augmon bunch, lost to a double digit underdog to Duke. In a one game scenario anything could happen. Thats why I love March Madness! Anyone remember NC St. beating PHI Slamma Jamma? The Zags are good, but so were the Runnin Rebels and Clyde the Glide and Akeem Olajuwon's Cougars! 9 out of 10 times, I bet the Zags, but today the gutty little Bruins shock the world! The ghost of John Wooden and the demon of Adam Morrison crying at mid court lives1 Bruins 78 Zags 77!! GO BRUINS!!!!!
Definitely agree that ANYTHING can happen during March! As for how they deal with pressure, I look back to the WCC championship.
BYU was up 53-41 at half and shot the absolute lights out. Zags were still down 10 with about 9 minutes left, before winning 88-78 (Outscored BYU 47-25 in the second half). So while they haven’t been tested much, that was their biggest test this season and they responded great.
Definitely looking forward to a great game!
I guess I have some crow to eat! Congratulations Gonzaga! Maybe you can build a legacy 1/4 of the Bruin guttiness! Proud of my boys, but at UCLA you are expected to win!! I aint goin' to whine about the foul not called on Riley, but, sorry that's a foul!! Tell me Tyger don't have heart!!
TIMME! Stealing balls and running the floor like a guard!
He truly does it all!
Any word on chet holmgren after we advanced to the final Four?
He’s still in the State Playoffs at the moment, I believe they end just after that tourney. Think he’s fully locked in on winning a Championship and announcing afterwards at some point
Hes coming to gonzaga put the farm on it
I hope Bill Walton is not calling the game. I like Bill, he always has nice things to say about GU but he always talks about that 2008 upset. "Greatest comeback in NCAA history." I don't wanna hear about it it no more. It really wasn't an upset. Bruins were a 2 seed and GU was a 3 seed.
Bruins beat gonzaga in 2008? If so thats a LOCK that Gonzaga wins
06 was the tourney comeback, but thankfully I don’t believe Walton is an option to be on the call. Aside from that, I don’t want to listen to his 100 tangents during a final 4 game 😂
@@upperleftsports that game was a heartbreaker & you can tell
Morrison wanted to win very badly I kept yelling at the screen don't let center J.P. Batista handle the ball let the guards handle it & Yes I've been a Zags fan since the John Stockton days so I know alot about the team
It’s gonna be Jim Nantz and bill Raftery thankfully
Absolutely was, I still remember watching it live and sitting there in disbelief.
a big upset coming - UCLA!
Aaaaaaaalmost predicted it
Gonzaga wins easy with their endless parade of shooters. Heres the only way UCLA wins In the words of Mr. Burns:
"there's no way I can lose now, unless my 9 ringers turn into 9 misfortunes and can't play tomorrow. 3 misfortunes? That's possible. 7 misfortunes? There's an outside chance but 9 misfortunes? I'd like to see that"
Didn’t easily win
UCLA
USC is a much better team than UCLA totally by far! Zags will take UCLA out & send them packing for home! Go Zags
zags 69 -63
@@jeffstone8632 Zags will win with a higher score !
@AM3 Lagrimas pretty sure gonzaga better then Michigan and Bama 🤷♂️
You dreaming big
@@jeffstone8632 that would be the lowest Zags scored all season & I think they score 80-90 if offense gets their way with UCLA's defense & Zags get alot of turnovers on defense that helps out zags offensive points
Have y’all not watched Baylor lol ... in do time
Baylor has been 1a/1b with Gonzaga all season. If that game happens, it will be the best CBB game all year. Be sure to check back and we’ll have all of our game thoughts in there!
Well don’t have your guys saying the zags are on a different level than everybody else .. Baylor will have something to say about that
Analytically speaking, they have been on a different level. Although analytics don’t win you a game. Believe me that we along with the rest of this country wants to see the game that COVID took away from us earlier this year.
Your going to be better NUMBERS wise when you play in the west coast conference lol and for the record SC was not a very good offensive team
You realize analytics websites, such as KenPom and EvanMiya.com factor in the strength of opponents, right? We’re not comparing points per game or something.
We also ever said USC was a great offensive team. We said they were playing hot, which is true for any 6 seed making a sweet 16.
I hope gonzaga wins by 40+ please shit on UCLA just guard juzang and you win

R u Fffff'g nuts : "Riley 225lbs "!! Riley is 255 lbs. Ur bias is obvious
That’s no bias, that’s just a mixup in notes. We try to be as accurate as we can and I assure you there is no benefit in missing on someone’s weight
@@upperleftsports I agree but I was still piv'd. We are not gonna line up on D at the guard position as u suggest. Bernard, Jaquez, Clark are available
Definitely get it, and there was no bad intentions on our side.
Could also see the defensive matchups being different as you said, UCLA’s length does give them a lot of options!
Of course there’s a bias, what do you expect from a Gonzaga sports channel? Are you fucking dumb? Btw Riley can be 400 lbs for all we care, doesn’t change the fact that UCLA gets dumpstered by 20+
The best part of this is I reviewed our notes and ESPN. ESPN Lists Riley at 225lbs, your beef is with ESPN, not us 😂
