@jgunn03 For a while I bought chicken scratch from a local mill, but recently (the last two months or so) I've been feeding them a mix of different types of beans, and corn. Plus they get a lot of other things like kitchen scraps, and supplements I make for them.
As I was reading this I thought "I could mix some of the chicken foods I have." I don't know why I didn't think of that already. The beans you gave your chickens, were they dry beans? Similar to the dry beans we buy at the store for ourselves? If so, I might buy a cheap bag at the grocery and see if they like it.
@@jgunn03 Yes, they are the dried beans at the grocery store. But the chickens can't eat them dry so you'll need to either sprout them or cook them. It's a great source of protein and fiber.
Nice coop!
Have a great day❤
Have you ever tried making your own chicken feed. If you ever have why did you stop?
I have never made my own chicken food.
DO you make yours?

@@cjs_chicks I'm going to try that. It would be a fun experiment.
