- Mr. Goodpliers looks over a collection of old cars at an abandoned farmstead! Come along and check out 1950s, 60s, and 70s Studebaker, Ford, Cadillac, Buick, and Chevrolet cars including a Monte Carlo, Mustang, and Thunderbirds! Then see what will get loaded up, and a tour of the abandoned farmstead!
All of these cars have been sold to new owners and are no longer available
That 58 Buick is a complete sweet vehicle... Definitely a restoration candidate.
I would have taken that Buick .The trim was unbelievable.I was born in53
A n d
I remember like it was yesterday. My dad took me to Price Auto in Wichita and got me a 60 Bird promo car. Yes. I still have it. Thanks pa!
Price's OST (on South Topeka)
I'm glad you managed to Dave one of these gems
The caddy once restored will be fun to drive and a real head turner
The Caddy is a cool purchase. Thanks for posting this!
Love the 53 Cadillac. My dad had one. You do have a full plate of projects . Thanks for sharing!
I've always liked the 58--60 T bird. I remember when they were new.
Wishing you a healthy and prosperous 2023! Love the videos
The cars in that collection are among the most complete that you've ever shown us Mr. GP. I hope they find new homes. Thanks so much.
Remembering the new car smell at 6 years old in the back seat of our new 1958 Thunderbird going to Lake George, N.Y. for vacation! Can't afford even a driver now,,,, thanks for your work, sir!
Dang!.That’s an amazing collection!.😊🤗
Love the thunderbirds and the Buick. Hope they all get saved and fixed up. Like to have one of them if they are for sale and close to me. Good luck on the Cadillac.
One novelty feature of Cadillacs made from 1941 to 1958 was that they had the gas tank opening behind the left taillight, with the exception of Eldorados made from 1955 on. The 1956 BelAir was another car with the same feature.
Good choice, i was born in 1953. I never knew power windows were available than.
That black thunderbird is a nice looking car. If the price was right. Think that would be the one for me
Best condition of the 3 T-birds
My 80 yr old dad just sent this link. His first car was a 53 Olds 88 he bought used. My parents drove big Oldsmobiles til 1992 with a stint of about 9 yrs with 2 Buick Estate Wagons powered by the Olds 403 V8. Love seeing these cars being tinkered with
some great cars and in good shape
My Dad had a 1953 Cadillac as an everyday driver while I was growing up. It was our family car until I was 11 years old and my Father bought a 1969 Buick Skylark, GS California. My brother and sisters always enjoyed going to a Gas Station, waiting for the attendant to have to come back to my Dad's window to ask him, "where's the gas cap, where do I fill it up"? I'm sure the attendant wondered why four kids in the back seat were laughing at him. When he came back to the window to get the money...then he knew why. 😉😉
I always liked the way Cadillac had a secret location for the gas tank., which was behind the left taillight. Cadillac did this for 18 years with 1958 being the final year. The BelAir also had the gas tank behind the taillight for 1956 only.
Hey Tim! Congrats on the sweet Caddy! That would have been my pick, too... Even better that you have an engine! Haha thanks for the Classic Darts Close-ups! All the very best as always from Alberta...
WOW
All these are fantastic
Like that 58 Buick !
My Belle of the Ball! That beauty with a small block and a TH 700 would be a country cruiser!
One of the best
Great video, awesome collection of old cars! I hope they all get saved! I would trade my 2009 PT cruiser for that studebaker! For sure! Nice cadilac, good pick for you too!
Great come-along I have the same one with 20 years of use. They used to be lifetime warranty. Great walk around. Thanks as always
I love the old Caddys especially the finned ones, but I has to say those 58 Buick Roadmasters are a beautiful car with all that stainless. If I could have found one that was in good of condition as my 61 Caddy was I would have bought it instead but when I found one people were asking almost new car prices and they still needed total restoration. Thanks for the videos and I hope the new year gets better for you and your family
I learned to drive on a '58 Buick. I've always loved these cars and would love to have one but time and money are against that ever happening. I hope someone will see this car and have a similar love for them. It begs to be fully restored and appreciated. Super car for the Interstate!
That Buick is awesome!
It's the one of the bunch that I regret not buying
Was watching an episode of the classic 50s cop series called 'Highway Patrol' starring Broderick Crawford as Dan Mathews. In the episode I was watching there was a black 58 Roadmaster driven by the 'baddies'. I thought the Buick looked brilliant. For enthusiasts of 50s cars you'll see tons in this very popular series of the day.
I'd love to see a "Will it start ?" on this potential beauty and even further videos if you decide to clean her up ! Thanks for the video !
Good choice...
Would be cool to see you do a will it run.
Hope you called Silas on that first 'Bird. Ty for taking us along
I would've love to had the 2 58 Birdies but the Cadillac with the Dolly Parton bumpers was my 2nd choice.
I like the God’s Must Be Crazy reference.
Love that Roadmaster
I learned to drive in a 1964 Studebaker Commander 4 door just like that one, but mine was much nicer. Mine had a 259 Studebaker V8, and three speed overdrive. I gave 200 bucks for it in 1980. My high school friends never could figure out the hill holder!
That old Cadillac and very cool
Wow,, overwhelming show,, thank-you
Nice Collection And Nice Caddillac
So nice!👍👍
like a gold mine
Ford poly paint means polychromatic metallic paint. It was Laquer. 1958 was a recession year. All car sales were down.
AWESOME car Tim👍
Excellent.
Desde Colombia éxitos 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴Colombia 💪💪💪👍👍
Nice T-Bird !
My Dad had a ‘58 Olds 98 with the air ride bags. (And autronic eye). I seem to remember the change to coil springs when it was only a year old or so, thought it was a factory recall. I was pretty young though, maybe I’m wrong
Nearly all the bags leaked and went flat within 6 months or a year. I just don't think the technology was quite there yet at the time.
Later model Cadillacs and Lincolns with them can last approximately 15 years
Wow those cars are cool
Nice reference to The Gods Must Be Crazy.
Very nice cad
It's super solid. Amazing straight rust free body
just a minor correction on the Studebaker History. Ontario was in production as well as South Bend since 1947. They didn't move production there, it already existed, they simply shut South Bend down. It had nothing to do with fulfilling contracts, Studebaker still owned Mercedes of North American and had dealers that wanted to sell cars.....it was the wage rates in south Bend as well as the Pension fund that Studebaker would have had to commit funds too if they kept South Bend Open. It was just more economical to shut South Bend down. They lost the Truck Production Capacity as well the Engine plant too, which they sold to Chrysler. The car you're seeing is a 1964 American made Studebaker, not a 1965 Canadian model...if it was Canadian, it's steering wheel would be white. That's how you can visually tell the difference between the 64's. Canadian built 64's were also sold in the USA, but they still had Studebaker Engines in them. Here's the truckload of the first 64's to come to the USA. ua-cam.com/video/WQu7pJ4HSJI/v-deo.html The company didn't end in 1966, it ended in 1979 Studebaker was a diversified company...owning products like STP and Olan Engine and McCloughan/Paxton..etc....they just stopped making cars.....merged to form Studebaker-Worthington in 1968 and then merged with McGraw Edison in 1979.
Man I should hire you for a technical advisor. In so many cases your knowledge surpasses what I research. You have my respect!
Sweden bound written all over the Caddy.
I thought the " A " on the mustang wheels were Anson. I remember those from my youth.
Cold war motors may not have hundreds of thousands of subs but I note a lot of folks visit it... ☺☺
There are so many tie-ins everywhere. This one had a Classic Darts and Classic Tire
@@mr.goodpliers6988 is there a chance for a co-production vid with them?
I know you get asked a million times how much for that one thank you sir
Haven't decided yet to keep or part ways. My email is mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com, if you want to throw any tempting offers.
solid 53 caddy
I love them old birds.if you ever want to sale one, let me know
The property had been sold before the video was shot, and all of the cars are sold and gone now
good choice
'76 Monte Carlo
Ahh, so I googled, its 331 OH V 8, bet you did not know that there was a fire at the Caddy transmission plant in 53, and a lot of 53 Caddys ended up with Buick transmissions. Wonder what is in yours ?
Fun! Either of the Birds a 430?
Drats, I should have showed the data plates when I had the doors open
For Monte Carlos ; Hood Ornament 1977 no Hood Ornament 1976. I used to have 6 of the 74-77 Montes
Love your videos. Do you still have the Caddy?
Yes I do
Carleton we’re rich mans ciggs,my friends parents both smoke them Darts👍
1953 good year lika my Pontiac.
66 Mustang was Brittany Blue catalog color
thats 66 mustang was painted silver blue, ford code m1269, which was enamel, thats all ford used back in the day, gm was using acrylic lacquer in the 50s, i had a 59 impala , black it was acrylic lacquer , had a 67 ford fairlane gt came out with enamel
Presume that Buick was long ago converted back to coil springs, otherwise it would be sat lowrider style.
Most of the '58 air suspension cars dropped flat within the first year, and got swapped to springs
@@mr.goodpliers6988 ‘I opened the garage doors and found my new Cadillac collapsed like a dead Citroen’ it was replaced under warranty too. Love to try one and see if it was an improvement in ride quality. Ever seen the Chrysler test film where the rip the air bag off a ‘58 Buick during torture testing?
My pick is the 58 buick
Iike the 58 black bird, had one just like it was my first car.... still have it, how much please?
All of these were sold to collectors
I do like these cadilacs the other behind to shame there not so popular what happened to the other's did they sell or still there front and rear would make great sofa bases
Caddy would make nice Cruiser
The a on the wheel is Anson set of wheels they tried to be as good as crager and never made it in the Wheels and went out of business
Don't recall seeing underhood of the Caddy, what is the motor ?
Nice Caddy 2 B on the road soon? NO 😢
58 Buick for me, my dad had a wagon
Nice Caddy LS Or 454
Caddy be nicer if it was 2 door coupe, 56 my favourite caddy.
I had one of those in 1975!
It was a runner but had been brush-painted gloss white (house paint) by the guy that I got it from.
Original colour was a light green.
I didn't have it long but here in the UK it was pretty unusual.
@@daveseddon5227 The original colour was more desirable
Appliance?
How much does a manual for that blue Thunderbird
What happen to the Monte Carlo? Is it available?
Do people set out to keep these as a sign of their upward mobility of their life on earth?
...or is it the detritus of an oversaturated consumer society, left where it rests, simply as a convenient landing place because the expanse of property allows it to gather at rest?
Great choice. PC 🤣🤣
Tough to pick just one. We were in between several big jobs away from home, and I was there just before they closed access to the place for several months, for hunting season over the winter. Otherwise I might have gone back for a couple more
@@mr.goodpliers6988 I live in NEW ZEALAND u guys r so lucky
I was fortunate in the late sixties to have
a 55 2 door Pontiac rhd
An a 58 4 door Pontiac lhd luv your content
Please I have ask you before I like to know how much to get one
I reached out to see what they still have. It was 15 months ago that I was there, so I am not sure what's still around
Hello there. Ok, you're obviously out and about in the old car world often. Have you ever seen something practically extinct...almost a unicorn... something people will claim doesn't exist?? It's a 1972 Chevy Biscayne.
I shot a '71 6 cylinder/3 speed manual in Minnesota this summer, but haven't seen any '72's yet
The Biscayne may have been in its last year on the US market in 1972. The Biscayne did continue selling in Canada until 1975. And I knew someone with a 1975 4 door sedan.
Those cars should survive an EMP unlike the new cars
Hey is the Monte Carlo for sale
Dam there’s some nice one here just how much do these go for ?
They were $1000 to $3000
Mr. B. Here ! What state are these vehicles at ? Body’s are for the most complete !
They are southwest of Wichita, Kansas. It's a dry sandy area, so the bodies are very well preserved
@@mr.goodpliers6988 Mr. B. Here ! Thank you ! Video was very informative.
WHY DON'T YOU FIX THAT TRAILER THATS REDICULAS
😎👍😎
Are most of the viewers too young to understand your reference to the Coke bottle and "The Gods Must Be Crazy" ?
Hard to say for sure - but, the demographic of the channel is 74% viewers aged 55 and over, so I figured the joke had fertile soil to land on
In the top % luv in it

What city is this at?
It's about an hour southwest of Wichita, almost to the Oklahoma border
U shoulda took the Buick too !
It was priced at $1000. Good deal and a cool car for someone
Put a LS in the Big Buick🇺🇸 ,that would be bitching
How much for the Monte Carlo ?
They had it priced at $1500
@@mr.goodpliers6988 thank you that’s worth getting it other then the interior is was in good shape where are they located at?
@@mr.goodpliers6988 I like your name, so which ones are the best pliers?
@@mr.goodpliers6988 I got a place here in Ga and there about 15 Monte Carlo sitting there do not know as good of shape as the one you showed, but I don’t know the people because some of these George rednecks they will not turn loose. They seem to want old cars for their lawn ornaments, but I could find out that price and white little pieces and stuff that needs I might be able to find the parts I need just did that one house.
Do you just restore and sell or do you restore in keeping yourself we have a it’s probably about 20 miles from hairs called Hiwassee is part of the Cherokee land up here in north Georgia mountains, but they have car shows every year and people bring cars from all over I was just wondering if you ever been to Hiawassee and seeing some of the cars that come there and they say well now so my days are doing that are over. I’ve got too much medically wrong with made it bad to do that kind of stuff anymore. I still have the knowledge but my bike because I’ve got titanium and stuff in it and the medical issues with two bulging disc in my neck. It just kills me to bend over fenders and hood over the grills and stuff due to work on it now so I can lay underneath and do the bottom and I’m good but anything on the top in the motors in that kind of stuff it just kills me so much because I’m not on any kind of pain medicine that I don’t want to get addicted to pain medicine so but I love your show I gave you a lie. I cannot scribe to your channel. I just wish that I was in shape and we’re still working to where I could do cars. I’ve had a lot of cars in my life and I don’t no more, but it is what it is, the Lord, taking care of me.
Floor shift
I'd drive the wheels off that BUICK. Clear.coat it and enjoy..
Those cars? Restore 'em? Surprises galore. It's only money. I bet you couldn't get this to drive to the store and back under 5 grand.
Challenge accepted
I’ve never been a big fan of the T-Bird’s. Just to much Ford.
Why do you title abandoned when they are definitely not abandoned!!
