Then he told us, "The world has no idea how much we Christians suffer in China." In that sense, we have recorded and published this beautiful Marian song with the intention of praying, on the one hand, for our Chinese Christian brothers and sisters persecuted because of their faith and, on the other hand, for so many millions of them who have not yet received the light of the Gospel. ___________________________________________________________________________________ One phrase in this hymn ("All the peoples of the earth seek salvation in you") could give the impression, especially to those not very familiar with Catholic theology, that Catholics regard Mary as the Saviour. Hearing this brings tears to my eyes, thinking of our brothers and sisters facing persecution today for their beliefs, for their love of our heavenly mother. And that they might be victims of a war they don’t belong in. If it comes to that, they will be in my prayers every day.

Pray for us in Vietnam too. Recently a priest sitting for confession was stabbed to dead in Kontum. Also in Kontum a bunch of local governments' officers came to interrupt a Sunday Mass. One of them even took away the book priest was reading in altar....
