Well this was a lucky find! Just got a 2004 V6 Vue and the included owner's manual had instructions for accessing the filter through the glove box. Got that partway disassembled and realized there was no way the filter was back there. First hit on my search took me to your vid which saved the day. I suspect it was the original filter and 20 years of leaves and junk. No wonder the previous owner said the AC didn't work very well....
Glad you were able to get it changed! As long as you remember to change that filter every 15,000 miles or once a year, the AC should continue to function properly.
I spent about an hour trying to remove the glove box on my saturn vue. Turns out I was doing it all wrong seeing as I have a 2007 model. Thanks!

My OCD couldn't cope with the fact that you left a pine needle under the cowling cover.

Thank you! Took me longer to find my tools than to do the job. On my mom's 2005 there were no screws just push pins so all I needed was a flat head screw driver.

I was wondering where the cabin filter was. I've had my 06 vue since 08, never changed it. I'll get it changed out this weekend.
Yeah it is good to change your filter once a year or every 15,000 miles.
@@filterheads I went ahead and changed it out yesterday. It was definitely bad. It's only been about 202k miles since I owned it. Bought it with 39k miles. Don't know if it was changed before I got it

Spend some time cleaning up before removing the old filter! Shop vac and wipe it down. 😮

When you get an oil change, do they also replace your cabin filter at the same time ? Is that included in the price of the oil change ?
The cabin air filter is usually an added on price. Most mechanics will do the easier installs because it is a quick add on the overall cost. I have had customers state that mechanics or dealers have tried to charge them 50-300 dollars just to have the job done. I have also seen cases where some mechanics charge you and not change the cabin air filter.

They always asked me when changing oil if I want in cabin air filter changed too. I always said yes.
Now realized due to location, they never once really changed it or I would of seen them do it.
There's a little tool you can buy that lifts those plastic clips up and it saves a lot of fingernails and stress LOL.

Great video but I was distracted by the worlds largest hangnail on your right thumb and your super mega ultra shovel finger nails. The box that pops up at 1:57 says that this is the AQ1057, while it should be the AQ1047. Might want to change it, just to avoid any confusion.
