Man, you can really hear that boost in the 8-9k on the KRK's. That in combination with low end dropping off so quick really makes them sound brashy in the metal song.

Please review Neumann KH 80 DSP's vs the ILouds. The Neumann's ended up winning by a countrymile for me and I bought them. These truly are the end game of studio monitors, no matter whether they are priced 10 times less or 10 times more, they will smoke any/all competition in the small monitors category IMO, and for $399 US each on discount, that is a bargain.
@@mikelo303 Yes, in person in store, and I came home with the KH 80's. They both have a very similar tonal qualities. But the Neumann's have waveguides and you can place the two speakers at any angle on or off-axis, even with mismatched toe-in, the center image will be precise. I will never buy anything without waveguides again, I'm sure about that. The image on the iLouds was completely vague in comparison.
@@mikelo303 Also the Neumann's measure +/- 0.6db from 100hz to 10hz and +/- 1.5db from 57hz to 20khz which is an remarkable feat that is simply unheard off really. Also the tweeter crosses over really high at 1.8khz which means that the dynamic and directional part of the midrange is also being channeled through the waveguide, not just the highs, and I'm sure that is part of the reason these image so well.
The Neumann KH80 DSP and the iLoud MTM was the big question for me as well, and for quite some time I was completely into the Neumanns, but I changed mu mind and ended up buying the iLoud MTMs. The main reason beeing the ARC-mic calibration system included with the MTMs. Also, the MTMs does have a lower frequency response than the KH 80s. They go as low as 40 hz. Size was also a factor, as was price. I managed to find a pair for 640 EUR on Amazon (new) which was a real bargain.
@@ricobenavides In my opinion and this is very controversial. If you need room correction for frequencies above 500hz, it is the room bringing out the flaws in your speakers, not the other way around. Under 500 hz/mid-bass will always be problematic, and more exageratted if you can't work around with placement. But here's the thing. In my experience, after you've become familiarized to the flaws in your room, somehow you account for this and compensate accordingly, and your mixes still translate well. On the other hand, whenever I have had sytems that are calibrated to fit the room, the mixes just didn't sound right. I always get the feeling as if something is not right and something is missing. If you can learn to live around your room, then definitely go for the Neumann's and that is the only way that works for me. The ILoud's are a very good speakers and the calibration software is one of the best I've come across, it is a good speaker and I'm sure it would be the right choice for you. I'm not mixing these days, and so I have the KH80's as a small living room setup, straight out of the box, and it's been three weeks and I am still in awe. This is the one and only system I have ever owned that is so uniformly unoffensive, that even in my less than perfect room, I cannot for the life of me, begin to identify a part of the spectrum as being even ever so slightly off, for me to send my OCD out of the roof and plug my DSP, as I have always had to do. Always!
Both are not super accurate. I have compared vxt and rockit (older gen). vxt sounded less compressed in the mids with clearer lows. iloud sounds a bit muddy in lows here. I think vxt is the way to go, and if you have little budget then iloud is really interesting.
I think you are precisely the target audience for MTM. Thanks to MTM's driver configuration their sound is very directional, so the early reflections are less intrusive. ARC room correction helps with bass in rooms with little acoustic treatment
hey i really like what your doing and i would really appreciate if you checked out the studiospares sn5a studio monitors from the company studio spares there really budgit and id love to see what they would be like compared between the adam audio t5v
I know this is unrelated, but I’ve been trying to find someone who knows a lot about audios opinion on my predicament. I’m stuck between getting the Edifier sb350db or getting the r1850db and adding the Polk 10” sub? Both come out to $300. A reply would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you
The MTMs to me lack in terms of mids -- especially when treating piano passages. The KRKs handle them better, so I got those Rokit5 G4 speakers late last year. :) Nice work, saves a lot of trips to physical stores, haha.
They lack? What are you smoking. The KRKs boost the mid heavily and also have a steep drop off. A spectrogram shows it's the opposite of what you say and I can hear it too. The iLoud go substantially lower and are overall more flat. And this video is them untuned to the room (they come with calibration microphones for a reason)! They are definitely better, you can use them horizontally, they also come with stands (a value of about 50-100 coins) however also twice the cost if you don't use stands or already have something. If not the value is a bit better. It's fine if you went for the cheaper option - but don't make it sound like the KRK handle that part better by being way off in the flatness around 7-13k Hz. Maybe you confused the lines there mate.
I prefer micro ones... cheaper... mtm is too overpriced it's good but for this price isnt a gamechanger... in other hand micro iloud is more kinda a gamechanger product than mtm(my opinion)
Agreed. If you can afford the MTM, you might as well go for Neumann KH80's for a bit more, and those really are a game changer. The micro is really good bang for the buck for what it offers.
@@DSAUDIOreview They sound good, however the back controls are cheaply made. At $800 a pair plus 15% sales tax i think there are better options. That would put them at over $900 here in Canada.

how would the rokit 5 compare to ik micro's ?
MTM`s are insane good!
Have you calibrated the iloud mtm for the comparison? Or have you used one of the other presets (flat/desk)?

The MTMs cost double of the KRKs... not sure if this comparison makes sense.
sonically similar, iloud wins for better dynamic, smoother top end and fuller low end.
I like it when two models are similar - it gives me confidence that perhaps BOTH are close to flat.

Crazy how it sounds almost the same. The price difference is heavy tho. 300 vs 600 Euro.

Winner winner chicken dinner! iLoud!!
Been looking for a small studio monitor that has it all. Can’t believe in finally found it… welp there goes my self control lol
I am watching this with my iLoud MTM
iLoud closest to source track
MTM победил! Он ближе с Source, чем KRK.
по низу - нет) MTM что-то делает с низом странное. Там где KRK или Genelec заканчивают хвост kick, у MTM продолжает диффузор "гудеть"

Rokit has more useful mids for mixing.
MTM by far.
Both the studio monitors, are 99% similar and I can’t guarantee the 1% for not listening in reality…..but the double price for a pair for MTM’s
What is the casing of iloud mtm, is it plastic?
Yes. It’s a matte black/greyish plastic
Iloud is a little better

Krk for me. Sound signature is more flatter.
