    Dear
You are wrong, Meerut have three big bus stand inside city and you book a bus not from bus stand. Instead of bus stand you book from highway. Haridwar also have a big bus stand.

Hi Michelle. I am from meerut, there is a bus station in meerut so that guy who helped you has saved your time because all buses from station will pass the route where you were. Also it is a bit tricky if you are in a new country and they don't have first language as you have . But I am glad you explored meerut lol😂

Michele I recommend you buy your bus and train tickets through those agencies that can be found in tourist areas. That's what I did and I always had a seat on a bus and a seat on a train in Incredible India 🇮🇳. I recommend 2AC sleeper class on a train. They're quite comfortable, with a bed and air conditioning. That Indian man was so nice. I had similar experiences in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Rishikesh which is up from Haridwar by bus and Varanasi.

@@MichelePonte only 6 to 7 trains are available on this route which runs daily rest runs on alternate days. That's why they are overbooked everytime. The only solution is to book a ticket as early as possible according to your plan or you can just cancel it and book an emergency seat (tatkal) on the day you have to travel but it will cost you little more as compared to normal ticket price. Remember their is a possibility that the seat you booked in emergency can also be in waiting. Rest depends on your luck.

@@MichelePonte No brother, actually there are 2 major bus stations and many small bus stations in meerut, you could have easily got a bus going directly to the haridwar bus station from bhaisali bus station near begum pul. The bus you booked was from a privately owned tourist company and was going from delhi to haridwar that is why you had to board the bus from highway, and also private buses are not allowed to enter bus stations and that's the reason bus dropped you on the highway. There are many Air conditioned buses run by the state governments, which will be a much easier traveling option for your journey ahead.
