Your American cousin (literally, my family came from England in the early 1700s) hears you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being patriotic. Everyone to the right of Marx is now considered a fascist by the Left worldwide. It's purposeful too. Our countries are being flooded with illegals, but those responsible call those of us who dont agree "fascists". That's extremely ironic if you actually know history and what fascism really is. Given that this insanity is happening all over the West, it's obviously coordinated. Patriotism does NOT equate to 1930s Germany...no matter how hard the elites try to convince everyone that it does. People are waking up.

'Illegals', says a dude in a country founded upon colonialism, invasion, the genocidal ethnic cleansing of the indigenous people, slavery, land theft and the pillaging of natural resources, largely by Britain, that did the same thing in other countries too (don't forget Australia, where Britain also sent convicts to set up a new colony).
Colonialism that still has negative impacts on some places today - including where some of these 'illegals' come from...
Britain wasn't/isn't too keen on the patriotism of the indigenous people it slaughtered, or of people in countries it doesn't like and proclaims to be enemies today.
England didn't like patriotism in Wales, Scotland or Ireland either.

I visited London, not on the recent march, but a few years ago. I can say it was bloody scary and I was embarrassed to witness what people did pretending to be loyal to the country. Wales have such a beautiful flag and language that’s stood the test of time, Scotland have a deep rich history who are Englands equal in a lot of sports especially rugby, Northern Ireland have stood independent from Ireland for so long and their heart shows through their history with the ira, and England is one of the most spoken languages for a reason, why shouldn’t we be proud of where we come from? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧

What you say about the Scottish flag shows how little you understand or how much you ignore Scotland's history in terms of England trying to invade and control that country, just as it did in Wales and Ireland. England killed Scots and Welsh people, along with their culture and language. It also colonialised and invaded other countries, committed genicife via the ethnic cleansing of indigenous people.
And here we are today with English people still playing the victim while conveniently ignoring history. Most Scottish, Welsh and Irish people understand what comes with the English flag because of what came with it.

Italian fascism for one can be one extreme case where Mussolini at the end of it all was held responsible for it and thus the Italians switched to the side of the allies, because they realised although his ideals for Italy were grand, they were deemed indignant and the cost of his peoples lives were too high for him to remain in power and too rightly so he was said punished by his people where as with British patriotism we simply wish to fly our flags without someone claiming there is intent behind it to start violence, just look at our March in London it was peaceful with only 9 or so arrests due to certain groups trying to egg on some marchers into anger, we must not cross that line into being violent but even we have so much patience before we throw all care out the window, it is certainly an interesting topic for sure thank you for bringing the topic into discussion 👊🏻😁

First of all its important to clarify what you mean with fascism and patriotism.
Fascism isnt just when violence is comitted. I think Umberto Eco nicely described the core aspects of fascism in his essay Ur-fascism:
    1. Cult of Tradition: Traditionalism is central, and truth has already been revealed by tradition. No room exists for new knowledge or innovation.
    2. Rejection of Modernism: Fascism rejects the modern world, seen as the degeneration of tradition. Rationality and progress are suspect.
    3. Cult of Action for Action’s Sake: Action is glorified for its own sake and must be pursued without intellectual contemplation.
    4. Disagreement is Treason: Criticism and dissent are seen as betrayal. Unity is enforced through suppression of dissent.
    5. Fear of Difference: Fascism is racist by nature, capitalizing on the fear of the other and often scapegoating minority groups.
    6. Appeal to a Frustrated Middle Class: Fascism appeals to the middle class frustrated by economic crises or perceived threats to social status.
    7. Obsession with a Plot: Fascism promotes the idea of a conspiratorial enemy, often depicted in grand conspiracies.
    8. Enemies are Both Strong and Weak: The enemy is portrayed as simultaneously overwhelmingly powerful and contemptibly weak.
    9. Pacifism is Trafficking with the Enemy: Life is seen as a permanent struggle, and pacifism is considered collaboration with the enemy.
    10. Contempt for the Weak: Elitism is strong, and weakness is despised, with the weak viewed as undeserving of sympathy.
    11. Everybody is Educated to Become a Hero: Heroism is normalized and everyone is expected to be ready to become a hero at any moment.
    12. Machismo and Weaponry: Fascism glorifies a culture of machismo and often intertwines with the glorification of weapons.
    13. Selective Populism: The people are a monolithic entity represented by a leader who interprets the collective will.
    14. Ur-Fascism Speaks Newspeak: Simplified language is used to limit complex and critical reasoning, ensuring control over thought.
These points are rather abstract so lets exemplify them.
You might habe fascistic believes if you think that a secretive elite is trying to undermine our traditional values to push degeneracy and weaken the family and the state and that our society would be better off with a strong leader overcoming the constant squabbeling of daily politics and bringing our country back to a past where we were strong and dominated.
So if that applies to you then i will gladly call you a fascist. And I must say i get a little suspicious when you say „we all know the groups that have taken the mick out of us“, who is „they“? Fascists love talking about (((them))) which often is some sort of elusive gloablist or jewish organisation or class. Speak clearly otherwise I am inclined to assume the worst
