Great bucket. One criticism I have is I wish the handle was adjustable. This way I could carry on my shoulder or forehead to free up a hand.

You could in theory make your own using the tie-downs

I'm a painter. We get tons of those grey buckets. Indestructible

Those 5 gallon paint buckets are great!
Of course you have to buy $80+ of paint to get one!

Ive been looking at these for a while now only because Ive gone through a handful of the cheap buckets due to their handles giving out. still on the fence but this really helps!

That’s a dang good bucket. Now a test I would really love to see is that 10 story test you were talking about! 😂

I might have to oblige.but I don’t have dynamite for any baseline testing

It’s high density polyethylene, same kind of plastic as cheap box store ones, and not the much more crack-resistant medium or low density polyethylene (or polypropylene). The food grade buckets I get from the bakery are more durable than the box store ones (that usually only last a year) and less tendency to crack as long as they aren’t outside in the sun. But, several customer reviews have indicated problems with the Yeti buckets cracking, and some folks have noted how heavy they are (not necessarily a bad thing). The lid is Tritan plastic, a good choice for food-grade applications. I wanna know can I sit or stand on it without the lid breaking?

yep every tool has a purpose, mixing concrete and stuff the store brand might be fine. I have a handful of store buckets and 2 yeti buckets.
yep you can stand on the lid of the yeti bucket no problem! I do it all the time, I also like that the base of the bucket has a rubber ring so it won't slid around if you are using it as a step stool.

    I haven't seen a dollar 5 gallon bucket at Lowe's guess YMMV.
I don't care if that Yeti is filled with Belgian ale, i'm not buying it.
I take a cracked cheap bottom one, cut some of the bottom height off, jam and glue two together, and i have done 3 to get a higher bucket seat to sit on.
At the end of the day it's a bucket and how many dollar ones can you buy for the cost of a Yeti?
Even at only a 1 year use per bucket?
    Having the bottom crack out?
I will buy a Yeti cup for the decal, put it on the Lowe's.

I used to work at Lowes, they used to have coupons at the front counter where if you bought $25 of stuff you could add a bucket for $1. not sure if they still do it.
probably cost less than that to make of course!
yeah The YETI Bucket while nice is expensive. I think it's probably most useful as a fishing or hunting bucket where. you're working with meat. for mixing concrete it's probably a waste
