In my jazz-lessions 20 years ago, that was material for at least 1 year. That was the perfect repetition on a perfect level, perfectly described with a lot of understanding and overview. Makes me practising these things on focus now. Thanks from the South, Sven!

Such a great theoretical lesson Sven! much appreciated to simplify for a guitarist not "schooled" in jazz like me. Thanks for sharing, just great!

Brilliant - such a logical build. I'm not just playing differently now : I'm LISTENING differently.

Thanks for this. I think your lesson is more valueable than most because you put your points into context. Most YT teachers spend the time informing us about what notes are in a chord and scale, but showing how it works in a context made me pick up my guitar and try out your ideas.

    Hi,
I've been following your stuff here for couple of months or so. I have to say watching you grow and produce quality content makes me feel you should be getting a hard pat on your back.
    Very well done, Sven.
Discovered gypsy jazz about 2-3 years ago and I finally started to connect things a bit. Of course enjoying your backing track a lot as well.
    Much kudos and keep up!

This was great! Thanks- Do you have a fret board chart for some of these scales- The whole tone scale is the one I would like to see most.

Thank you, Sven... so great, so clear and proper! I´ll try to approach it to "Blues f. Alice", bridge: Am7/D7 - Abm7/Db7 - Gm7.... hm, mysterious

Thanks a lot, man! Sometimes I mix something up, because of my engl., while talking. But all my vids are one take, so sometimes I excuse myself, when saying wrong chord names or stuff :)

This, as well as ALL of your videos are excellent. Sven, you're a very good teacher/educator as well as fantastic player. I've found you just two days ago, and although I love all the channels I've added, I found yours last, and have found it to be the BEST and most concise. I'm wondering if you've done any videos on outside soloing? Oops, I just edited this cause at 14:13 you speak about the whole tone scale.Thx again for all you do.

Great video Sven! Regarding the C6 C9 F6 Fm6 turnaround - Do you approach this the same (means, first 2 chords C6 C9 you refer as C and last two chords of F6 Fm6 you refer as G7/Dm6/F7) in your solo?
    Thanks!

      Hi,
A very good trick here is playing the Cmin Blues pentatonic.
But actually it is good here to figure out some guideline licks with the notes c Bb a and ab

I am not showing of, but teaching for advanced students what you can play on turnarounds. These are common harmonic ideas. By the way, I am a lead player as well, just released two albums as a lead player and I appear as a lead player on Joscho Stephan's new album Paris Berlin. If you are frustrated by to many options here, get back to more basic stuff, or I gladly offer you a face to face lesson if you like.
      Greetings,
      Sven

@@SvenJungbeck Sven I really respected this video. I am an advanced player but I become stagnant and want to learn my substitutions and alterations better so that my improvising can have some dissonace around the melody as well. This was making sense. I will be going back to this video again and again and taking it in. I am also a lead player releasing an album through WILD Records. I also play stand up bass for Wayne Hancock (Western swing, jump blues, rockabilly, hillbilly bop guy), his guitar player is Bart Weilburg. Bart is fantastic as you are. Bart has really helped push me to break the rules and make things dissonant and tasteful. I will look for your albums. Where can I find them?
Also don't listen to this guy. He is probably just frustrated because he is a beginner. It takes years of dedication to become fluent in guitar playing and understanding how the musical language functions/works. You're a great teacher and player.
