    I use handmade neons as extra bright lights when painting northern lights and galaxies, but only reserve them for things that will be prints. Though I find I use them less and less. Red is my favorite neon too.

    I’m always looking for a good neon yellow watercolour. I like using it as a highlight and mixing - esp with indigo. Too bad it’s not sold singly as I have no desire for the others.

      I could swear that I just posted a comment to reply to you, but I cannot see it anymore. Weird. Anyway, what I wanted to tell you is that Finetec has neon watercolors, and they do sell individual pans.

    Can I ask what watercolor book you’re using? I know the swatch spaces are stamped in, such a clever idea! I just adore your style and this setup is brilliant! Congratulations on the book! Can’t wait to check it out! Thanks!

      Oh thank you! It's actually not stamped but printed😀 I have printables on my website. I use loose sheets of watercolor paper in a sketchbook I make myself using Little Golden Books😀

    Very interesting. I would have liked to see the mix of orange and pink though.

      It's exactly the same as the yellow and pink, just minus the yellow😉

      @@iritlandgraf Ok. Now I know why you didn’t paint it separately. ;) Sorry, I wasn’t attentive enough.

    In the nail polish world, they say there is no such thing as blue neon pigment.... The best you can do is bright blue. Purple is kind of half neon due to the neon pink. On the other hand, I have a red neon you would love :-) Orly Blazing Sunset. Orly makes the best neons, but I don't think they are easily available to you :(

    I'm curious what the pigment numbers are. Are the pigments specified on the tubes?

    I never understood why they give you a blue when you buy neon markers or pencils.. the blue isn't even neon :(

      For mixing purpose,so you can dull down a bit colours,brighten up,make different or darker green,purple and so on..I find it cool to mix neons with granulating pigments,Cobalts,ultramarine,potters pink and so to get fun granulating paints,just try it out😉

    These don't seem neon enough at all. I feel if a company is going to release a neon set, they need to commit and make them as blindingly neon as possible. These are practically pastel.

    • @iritlandgraf
      @iritlandgraf  2 роки тому +4

      I agree they could have perhaps pump it up a bit more, but also keep in mind neon does not translate through camera and computer screens🤷‍♀️

    • @jennw6809

      It's funny, in nail polish, there was a trend of "pastel neons" a few years back and I just did not get the concept.

  • @amaranthineA

    Not my cup of tea, honestly. The idea is interesting, but If I think about my personal taste when choosing shades, I’m not a neon person.

    Only really useful for some kinds of design reproduction. I wish there was a more permanent kind of neon because really nature does do these kind of colours, really intense fluorescing pinks purples and even blues but we cannot reproduce them with any kind of permanence at all. The blue in this set is just nothing like nature can produce, there is dark fluorescing too which we really have nothing as yet!

    • @iritlandgraf
      @iritlandgraf  2 роки тому +2

      I think the best way to use all those fluorescent colors is to mix them with others, also, some pigments and formulas are really not as fugitive as feared. I've done some testing myself and thankfully my beloved Holbein watercolor in bright rose really did not fade after months in sunlight (can't say that about some others...)

    I like them but I wouldn’t buy those. I love neon.
