All are amazing dancers with their own amazing styles, but as a dance battle, Ten takes the cake. His routine was full of different techniques fused beautifully. Great battle guys!
It's not even a battle though. Rover is made to go viral with that choreo while birthday is more of like a proper routine. That's why we all know about rover and I don't even remember birthday.

i love rover and i love kai but birthday choreography is just unmatched. i bias towards kai but ten is just a crazy ass dancer and birthday has to be one of the best choreographies i’ve seen! i don’t even feel like this a fair fight cause rover is more of a tiktok choreography or a choreo made to go viral which there’s nothing wrong with but birthday is A CHOREOGRAPHY like he was giving it his all and the choreography was made to make statement

Ten is the most versatile dancer out there. Thats the thing. Someone can be more this or that than Ten, but they cant do like almost every genre as good as Ten did.
For me no dance performance beats Ten's Birthday and his dance skills. He is SO light on his feet and incredibly flexible, versatile, fluid yet sharp, edgy, masculine yet feminine, able to switch from super fast movements to slo-mo, plus he seems cute, sexy, handsome, natural and just out of this world at the same time. Birthday music video is pure art as well. Every still shot from it could be a poster.
I wish I had ten eyes, so that I could really capture every movement he does.
And OMG his voice as well, like daeyyym!

from the get-go, birthday definitely wins for me. kai and ten are very strong and powerful dancers and I love the rover choreo but birthday choreo has left a lasting effect on me ever since the drop and the pre-release dance he did with the song on the dance show in china.

I love both, but ten's birthday is another level..
no one can beat TEN in my opinion. he is such an all rounder when it comes to hitting so many dance styles in one choreography. and he can do them all equally well! and i dont even listen to NCT or WAYV... just his solo stuff cuz his dancing mesmerizes me and i love his goofy personality. and the fact that he can speak 5 languages is INSANE to me and incredibly impressive. :) on the other side, Kai was my very first bias because EXO was the first group i ever stanned. so his dancing is also nothing to scoff at either!!!

I love both Ten-Birthday and Kai-Rover, but a little fun fact both of these choreographies were made by the same choreographer lol. Her name is Bada Lee. She is an amazing dancer. She has also made lots of other NCT, Wayv, Kai choreography that you guys are very familiar with too. You guys should check her out cause she is amazing and an absolute GENIUS. We love our girl BADA LEE!

@@adityaiyer3172 nah, Ten could execute that and then add extra details to make the choreo his. But based on what I've seen from Kai, Birthday is just beyond his abilities. For instance the B-boy elements and those really fast flicker-like moves he did by the mirror, I can't imagine Kai pulling those off - at least based on his body of work. Ten is a very stable and elegant dancer who does well with movements that requires delicateness and grace (like Kai, although Ten's body is much suppler) but then he could also be agile, fast and nimble enough to execute movements that requires lightning speed, which I haven't seen Kai do before.
@@arien_000 i don't think you have seen kai at all. Ten cannot do two or more spins in the air and kai is much more sharper than kai. It's funny cuz half of the people in k-pop think kai is the most sharpest dancer and half think he is the most elegant as he does ballet which proves how good he is. That's why i think every professional choreographer and dancer has always chosen kai as the best in k-pop and taemin too. Well everyone has their opinion but a fact is a fact😊
@@adityaiyer3172 well it's good that you get validated by "half of the people in kpop". Hold on to that validation and belief cuz you might be one of those who need people to agree with them just to feel good about their opinions.
And yes I know Kai and I think his wonderful and talented and I've seen what he can do like his balletic spins and his ballet background. His hip-hop honestly is not on par with Ten's. Or for that matter, Lay's. That guy (Lay Zhang) was magnificent especially when he left SM and showed what he can truly do.
What seems to me though is that you haven't seen Ten's body of work yet and don't know him enough, cuz Ten's spins (ex: Resonance) are also magnificent only that they are not the same with Kai's cuz his background is hip-hop, some B-boy and gymnastics. And he could do so much more than spins thanks to his B-boy and gymnastics background that Kai's ballet dance background doesn't support.
And about the recognition Ten receives/d if you are not aware of them then that shows you don't know him enough either. I don't blame you cuz SM made him mainly a cpop idol so he's barely exposed in kpop but he doesn't lack admirers from dancers and choreographers all over the world (at least from those who know him). You can check some of them on UA-cam reviewing his dance practice videos.
He even did really well in his Great Dance Crew stint where he was indirectly competing with the 3x street dance world champion Santa. He was well-loved and admired by the competing dancers even if Santa's background was way more impressive. Of course a world champion like Santa is a much stronger dancer but the fact that Ten carried himself well enough during their freestyles and performances earned him even more respect from the dance community.

I can't believe Bada did both choreographies. both are totally opposite, she is so versatile
TECHNICALLY and ARTISTICALLY speaking, no other solo artist choreo and dance performance in Kpop can beat TEN'S Birthday. At least presently. It's a fusion of B-boy and contemporary. Those two are almost antithetical to each other so executing that choreo needs a master of polar opposites in dance.

Just watch the K909 video where Ten performs Birthday live or the 8am Vogue Korea video if you want to to see Ten perform this perfectly without cuts. The cuts were just because Ten was moving around the room and the space not because he couldn't cover the choreo without getting tired 😂. Just saying. Y'all gotta get into Ten live on stage video's man's a beast. Love Kai tho but Ten keeps my attention always.

Rover was not created to showcase Kai's talent and potential as a dancer which is exactly why Rover went viral, it was audience friendly where everyone could dance to it. This is not a good comparison given both were created for different purposes.

These are totally different styles, so it's hard for me to choose. I'd say that Birthday is more complex and probably should have compared to another Kai dance practice.
This is not a fair battle. When it comes to dance and choreo, Birthday won before it even started. It was choreographed to make a statement that TEN is the best dancer in kpop. It was a masterpiece choreo made only to be executed by Ten just like how Taemin's dance are choreographed only for him.
I'm not saying Kai isn't as good, it's just that that's not the point of Rover. I'm waiting for a choreo that really shows the best of what Kai can do. Kind of like what Taemin and Ten put out.

Wrong well in so far as your opinion that Birthday was made to showcase Ten as THE best dancer in Kpop. It's undeniably that Ten is an amazing dancer overall and definitely one of the best dancers in the Kpop industry however Birthday choreography according to Bada Lee was made FOR Ten by Bada because she believed it was something ONLY he could do and she was right. This choreo was made to show that Ten is on a whole other level than other dancers around him because this style was something that fits him like a gloves if you're looking at his many endless skills and his versatility as a dancer. However you could look at other amazing dancers and probably point out a particular choreo that was made for them to do the same.

I love Kai I know Kai before t’en and I actually prefer more Exo’s music than ncts but Ten is undoubtably winning this one Ten’s body control is almost out of this world I feel even that he is even more controlled than Taemin’s which is probably one of the best dancer of the Kpop industry.
Ten has been a dancer since childhood along Lisa from black pink and bam bam from got7 and I think sorn from CLC all of them has shown that they are super dope ass dancers

It’s not even a competition of dancers (I think they’re on the same level), Birthday as a choreography is just a masterpiece and therefore definitely takes the cake. I love that you (probably unknowingly) pitted 2 BadaLee/JrickBaek choreographies against each other, and then also brought in Ghost, another Bada choreo!
FYI- Ghost is a self-released mv, which is why there is no traditional dance practice and why it’s on Taeyongs personal channel. Ironic you said it feels more “big budget” cause it’s literally 0 budget coming from SM.

The songs are different so it really don't give the same vibe. But they both did great. Rover on the other hand became a trend especially with idols bcoz many of them lined up to do the challenge with Kai as most of them idolized Kai.

On thing I love about ten as a dancer he can dance every genre and be good at it. You will always find even when he is in a group which is wild but nobody I mean Nobody can do what ten does. His versatility is unmatched and his dedication to learn More genres is commendable. I have seen him mix fluidity and sharpness. That's why he is sort after as mentor in China both in GDC and he popped up in street dance China and now a mentor in Thailand chuang asia.

For some, it is the best dance in each person's career, and for others, it is an average dance. Kai should also be compared as one of the best. Of course, Rover is not an ordinary dance, but it is not a difficult dance for Kai.
rover is an average dance, made for tik toks. it is a pity but that's a fact. I love his artistic choreographies of the past, those really hit differently for example ICU.
