    So Nice ! Paramatmudu Ragam Vagdeshwari 34th Mela Adi Talam Thyagarajar Krithi
    Nammazhwar was allured by the beauty of the Lord. To him nothing in this world mattered except the Lord. Most importantly, he was able to communicate his feelings through beautiful words. Maybe, that is why we are allured by the poetry of people like Nammazhwar even after 1000 years.
    If poets like Nammazhwar used poetry as a medium to express themselves, great musicians like Saint Thyagaraja used both poetry and music as a medium to describe the beauty of the divine.
    In this kritis in the ragam Vagadeeswari, he says, ‘The Divine shines with grandeur everywhere.. It is present as Vishnu, Shiva, human beings, animals, birds, trees, the three basic qualities, the five elements..’.
    ‘Paramaathmudu velige mucchata baaga telusukore..’
    In this kruti Tyagaraja implores us to listen to the pleasant stories about the splendour of the Almighty manifesting in infinite number of ways. The kRti is set to a very melodious rAga so appropriately chosen by SrI tyAgarAja to express the mood; it seems to flow so beautifully and naturally. If the musicians who render this kRti contemplate on the meaning even very briefly, it will transport both the renderer and the listener to ecstasy. If one proof is required to justify the statement that the kRtis of SrI tyAgarAja are equivalent to upanishads, this kRti satisfies it. This is believed to be one of Thyagaraja's final krithis where he shares the ecstasy of being with Paramathma. At this point, his Jeevathma was slowly merging into Paramathma according to Advaita. This krithi conjures the image of Srimannarayana and His consorts who are awaiting our arrival to SriVaikuntham. Which is why I don't delay in chanting the Dwaya Mantram. I hope I do reach my ultimate goal which is Him.
    Know unerringly the grandeur with which the Supreme Lord is effulgent!
    Know unerringly the grandeur with which the Supreme Lord is effulgent as vishNu, as Siva, as celestials, as men, and as entire millions of universes - in (and as) all these.
    Know unerringly the grandeur with which the Supreme Lord is ever effulgent -
    in millions of (animate and inanimate) - animals, birds, mountains and trees - made up of (five elements) - the space, air, fire, water and earth;
    with (three) qualities as well as bereft of or beyond qualities;
    (OR in good qualities as well as bad qualities);
    (OR with form as well as without form); and
    in this pious tyAgarAja and others who have sought refuge in Him.
