- Born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand 16-year-old schoolgirl Sapphire Tamalemai and her family relocated to Australia after the deadly earthquakes in 2011. For Sapphire, it was an opportunity to pursue her musical dreams. Her father, who was her number one fan, passed away in her arms from a heart attack just before she applied for The Voice. He worked three jobs to support her music dreams and had always wanted her to apply for the show. Sapphire's mum and her sister were side of stage at her Blind Audition. i'm so sorry for their family's loss! it's such a heartbreaking for little ones to lose their parent at a very young age. kelly did the right way of listening to this wonderful tone with her eyes close! you get to feel the message and the chills. she sounded a bit like Leona Lewis with those clean vocals! kelly's outfit tho, she's like a giant ribbon. ☺️

Damn Sapphire really has a beautiful voice and it was a beautiful performance, but as long as you remember anybody you lose, they will never be gone. Her father was there with her, watching her sing the song that was special for the both of them.

I lost my dad as well when I was 9. The night he had his chest pain he slept by my side. He went to hospital 6:30am and around 9am, My sisters-in-law was receiving a phone call from my brother just to let us know He couldn’t make it home. Tears running down my eyes like waterfalls seeing you singing, how I could feel your pain, I know healing is really a long journey however He’s for sure is proud of you and watching over you, your sister and mom.
