@@MusicMemor oh wow! That might still be a problem for me, given my current situation, but I'm definitely going to see if I can come up with the cash. How long will this deal be running? Cheers
I've created a few videos on arrangement on this channel and one video on clips. As for FX channels and bussing, I'll probably get to those at some point. And, I don't want to shamelessly plug my new course, but I do want to say that my course goes into all those topics and more to help you complete projects learn.musicmemor.com/maschine-accelerator-2
Another fantastic video. I just converted from a Mikro MK2 to the MK3 and while I'm very familiar with the Maschine Software, I try to touch the mouse as little as possible as it's just not as "fun" for me to produce or make music with the mouse and clicks. Learning how to do as many things as possible on the hardware is super important for me to really enjoy the process more and this video is yet another great display of how to do that. Thanks again, keep up the great content!
Another excellent video, thanks! I find that using the controller (I have an MK3) very quickly becomes a lot faster than the computer screen and mouse. Keep up the good work! I love the Maschine platform except for the way it deals with Audio. I record guitar and vocals as Audio, along with midi for drums, bass and other virtual instruments. Arranging the Audio (using clips) in the song mode remains clunky, but maybe you have tips on how to make that more frictionless?
Thank you for the amazing tips! By any chance do you know if there is a force legato function in Maschine? I am used to using a hot key for this in the piano roll in Logic, which is super useful for pads and chords, and any sound where I would like one note to end exactly before the next note begins. But in Maschine I have to manually adjust each note which takes ages. There must be a way to do this but I couldn't find any info online. Would really appreciate any advice!
I don't think there's a way to do this unfortunately. I've run into this issue too. The quickest solution for me has been to highlight all the midi notes in a pattern and drag the length of them all at once
Some excellent tips Brandon, thank you, much appreciated. Any idea why I get the message N/A Master quite often when editing events? The message appears on the top left screen and I cannot edit or move around the events, no idea what I have done but get it often and no one seems to know what it means or how to clear it, Hopefully you are the one that knows. Great vids, just subscribed, thanks
That's odd. I've actually never seen that before personally. I'm not seeing anything about it in the Maschine Manual (from Native Instruments themselves) either. I wish I could help
@@MusicMemor Thanks for trying to help Brandon. Yes it's a strange one, the Midi is imported from another project/workstation so it may be the Maschine is getting muddled with external created Midi notes. When moving around the patterns and editing all goes well for a while until seemingly at random the problem occurs. Once the message/error appears it is impossible to edit any event in any pattern, effectively editing is blocked for the whole project. The only way I have found to proceed is to save the project, load any other project, then reload the original project and all is well again and I can edit again. (sometimes just reloading the original project works too). Very strange and extremely frustrating as it can happen quite often. I posted a vid showing the problem on FB if you are interested, let me know, thanks again. Just off to look at your vid tutorial course now, that sounds interesting, thanks again
@@Two-Vees-In-a-Van Yeah, that is strange. Idk if this would work, but maybe you could copy all the MIDI notes and paste it into a new soundslot in a new group.
@@MusicMemor Thanks for the suggestion Brandon, sadly it's effectively what I am doing as I have one pattern that is the full midi "dump" and copying this into a new pattern in each group, deleting all midi "lanes" leaving only the Midi for that group/Pad/Channel. So group A Pad 1 is Midi Channel 1, Group B Pad 2 is Midi channel 2 etc. Only 4 Midi channels so only 4 groups and of course each midi speaks to a different sound on the ModX. Works fine apart from this darn problem Grrrr! Appreciate you time to help. Had a quick look at your course, Can I see a fellow programmer at work lol (Retired IT here). Quite like the way you have structured the flash cards as that would be extremely useful, most people tend to look for UA-cam video's when they need to perform a specific task and spend ages doing a "hunt the video" that happens to cover what they want. You have neatly captured this into a "how do I " question and a video answer snippet, neat job. I shall probably purchase in a couple of weeks when my pension pops into the bank lol. Thanks again
@@Two-Vees-In-a-Van Ah sorry that is such a headache! If i ever come across this issue myself, and find a solution, I'll be sure to share it with you. And thanks for the interest in the course! You hit the nail on the head on why I created the flashcards. In addition to their use case for memorization, using the search bar within the flashcard database can help you find answers to individual questions, rather than having to watch an entire video on one topic. 😁
Not sure exactly what youre referring to, but maybe one of these two. 1) you can press the pattern button and shorten it from 4 bars to 2 for example. If you want to shorten the audio/sample file, you can do that in the audio or sampler engine and “truncate”
In ableton you can make a patern of 8-12- 17 bars then only edit the part you want let’s say 4 bars and crop it has the pattern . By doing so it erases the rest that is not needed !
A really weird thing about Machine and may seem like a small thing is that it shows loops length(not very helpful) instead of loop position(very useful). So for instance, when you are on measure 16, second beat it is 15:2 Totally bonkers and not very useful in context.
14:00 Nobody speaks about how terrible and non-flexible the piano roll is? Why aren’t you able to hear the sound when you click in the note? So basic yet you can’t do it in such an advanced DAW Urgh!
Just purchased the course. That flash card system is great. Definitely the most complete Maschine course available!
Thank you! I appreciate the support and I'm glad you like the flashcards 😁

will your videos benefit me if I am using mikro mk3?
@@Stephan326 I believe they would. The software at least will be the same between the mikro and MK3/Plus, and I frequently discuss the software

Is there a way to see the position of a midi note at a more granular level than 1/16th?
Yes, you can do this by adjusting the step grid resolution. I do this in tip 7 of this video if you want to look there
