The instructions manual asks that the user retain the manual for reference. Most elderly individuals requiring this device will not have the mental capacity to read and understand the lengthy manual so this advice is redundant.
My opinion having Set Up the Alarm for my elderly Mother . Instructions very confusing. Too much info for elderly people to understand. Smartphones are easier to connect that this tiny Alarm. Instructions need to be rewritten in a more simpler way for the elderly. Many elderly people do not use a Smartphone, Tablet etc to see the UA-cam Videos

What if someone doesn't have very good use of their arms?
