One of the best songs I've ever heard from Lecrae, and that says a lot. There was so much pain and passion from him, and yet instead of having hatred towards God (like most people do), he became closer to God. Just an amazing, tear-jerking song... When I heard this song first on pandora I didn't really pay attention to the lyrics, just thought the song was good. Paid more attention to the lyrics and I was taken aback. You are strong and you can beat those temptations, it may not always be easy, but when you find yourself feeling that way.....PRAY. Talk to someone that you trust, find things that you love to do, and stay busy. Jesus is working very hard right now to bring us back to him. I had never heard of Lecrae until this week. I was listening to a radio station while driving to class and heard his song Give In and loved it, so I Shazam'd it. I started looking on UA-cam for more of his music and found his latest CD. I believe God has been working through Lecrae to get us to return to who we truly can be. Be strong Crystal. You can do this. I will keep you in my daily prayers. My faith was not so much the issue, but I had gotten away from church and being forgiving of others. I do believe I have been found again. God bless you a million times over sweet girl. this song brings me to tears because everyone has that dark place in their life that they have hidden for many years because they wish they could rewind time and change what happened to them. at our lowest point GOD was always there and he has forgiven us . the biggest challenge is forgiving yourself.
IMO this is the best song off of Anomaly. Some of the realest lyrics I've ever heard. Having the courage to reveal these things about himself must have been difficult. Lecrae was also in a near death accident when he was younger. I think it was then, that he dedicated his life to God shortly afterwards. I admit that I was one of the first to judge Lecrae when I noticed a shift in the lyrical content of his music, but after seeing all that he's been through its clear that there are so many people that are lost and broken that can relate to him through his music. He is surely following God's intended plan for him, as his life is a powerful testimony of what the presence of Christ can do in one's life. May God continue to bless this brother in Christ.

Sometimes we Christian do not want to face our past...we bury it behind and move on instead of dealing with it...Lecrae...thank you for the inspiring message...I was molested as a kid...I didn't know nothing at the time...I struggled all of my life before I met Christ with a lot of things...but when I met the King of Kings He forgave and renewed me...I'm now made new in Christ and tho some things still trouble me but my Lord is constantly renewing my mind...Many kids out there go thru these kinda stuff and worse but their parents aren't aware of it coz they're too busy to even notice...I pray that this song may open up the minds of parents who are too busy to notice coz a lot of kid are struggling with the nasty done to them...keep up with the good work Lecrae...Stay blessed
@Pro Justice While I agree that it is hard for the victim to speak up about it, a parent should also know their child well enough to notice that something is wrong. Not all parents are the same or are saved Christians, luckily mine is. Even when I think im hiding something, my mother always notices the changes in my behavior, and she knows when something is going on. As a parent, you should be able to discern that something is wrong with your child. But sometimes its hard to talk to your parents as well. There are just many factor that go into it.
Every time I hear this song, it gets me thinking about when I got molested by some family friends.... But God's grace has forgiven me for not forgiving them. I been forgiven and set free from bondage. I pray and hope those who molested me have peace and know Christ, knowing Christ has given the ability to forgiven and live a joyful life and free from strongholds.

I like this song because I can relate. I was blessed with the best girl I could've ever asked for and literally abused the blessing she was. Became a sex addict, an accuser, a hypocrite, and she would no matter what do anything in the world for me no matter what I'd say she would oblige. She never once gave me reason to doubt yet it not being saved at the time couldn't see that she was the kind of girl I had been looking for my whole life. I being so messed up though made her go against her faith because I was so selfish. After she left I finally understood, but only through having to be humbled and brought down so lowly. To this day I still hope and pray I would one day have a chance granted by the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to help me to rectify my wrongs and be the good man she always saw in me. The fact we should have a child just kills me as well because I'd always desired a child so much, but I wouldn't want her to be chained to that old me. I'm thankful God took her away from me because she didn't deserve that pain and I needed to learn finally. After she left I was finally saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ because I finally confessed out of a broken, lowly, humbled mind, heart, and soul that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior and the Son of God. I've seen my life change so immensely so and I've been changed in so many ways that were things before I couldn't change with all of my might, yet through Christ it seemed he made it easy. His yoke is easy and his burden is light after all though. I pray she's happy, that she's living as best she can to please you with her talents Father, and that she's letting you guide her through your Holy Spirit. I've waited for her since and I know I'm not guaranteed her hand back, but I have faith the Lord can reconcile our hearts as he brought me out of sexual addiction, lust, constant lying, swearing, hypocrisy, belittlement, acting holier/smarter than thou, and trying to live for myself. How much I despise who I was, but it also helped me to realize I could never do it alone and that we really never are alone. I've seen the Father answer my prayers literally almost all of them and fulfill them for the people I pray for and also for his wisdom and will to be done in my life. I know his might and love. I can't deny what I've come to know in truth and I'll die for your love Lord Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. Thank you for all you always provide. I don't know why I was so lost and I'm sorry I ever was like that, but I wouldn't go back to change it because it brought me to you and to finally read your word and know the reality/truth that it is. I've seen all of my old "friends" walk away because I gave up that old lifestyle and the ones who still stay around are starting to believe in you as well. Never lose faith or hope in the Lord because our faith is justified through the work completed at the cross. +Frankenstein Gamers Speaking as someone who has been through a really hard relationship, one that although it was painful, was incredibly hard to walk away from, but if I knew if my ex-boyfriend turned his life over to Christ for real because God took me away from him, that would make the pain worth it. I don't know if your ex-girlfriend is a Christian, but if she is, I know it would make her happy to know that you're saved. It's hard on both sides, but just know that God forgives you and loves you, and that your past doesn't define your future.

i love Lecrae mostly because he does what other rappers wouldn't dare to do.. he raps about truth, what he believes in, and he raps about what most of us have been through.. i was in his shoes at one point in my life and i know how it feels. I also love how he doesn't call himself a "Christian Rapper" ... because he's not only rapping about God and preaching to the world about how you should only be this way and only do this and blah blah blah... he raps about life.. and his life *as a christian*. i got to see him in VIP at one of his concerts and he is truly one of those people who give off a positive vibe and you just feel surrounded by positivity. but yeah he's a really good guy. so keep doing what ur doing Lecrae and they'll have no choice but to put this on the radio.

I am also a victim of abuse, and went through promiscuity in my early 20s, I did terrible things and hurt so many people. Sometimes, I wonder if people can ever forgive me, they may never forgive me, and that breaks my heart. But, God's grace and His forgiveness brings joy and peace that sets me free. I am ANOMALY.

Lecrae actually mentioned in his book I AM RESTORED that he read the Book The body keeps the score by Bessel van der kolk. It is a good start to deal with all this situation not to fight alone or just by praying but to seek also professional care and help. The book could be a good start thought.

IMO this is the best song off of Anomaly. Some of the realest lyrics I've ever heard. Having the courage to reveal these things about himself must have been difficult. Lecrae was also in a near death accident when he was younger. I think it was then, that he dedicated his life to God shortly afterwards. I admit that I was one of the first to judge Lecrae when I noticed a shift in the lyrical content of his music, but after seeing all that he's been through its clear that there are so many people that are lost and broken that can relate to him through his music. He is surely following God's intended plan for him, as his life is a powerful testimony of what the presence of Christ can do in one's life. May God continue to bless this brother in Christ.

@Pro Justice While I agree that it is hard for the victim to speak up about it, a parent should also know their child well enough to notice that something is wrong. Not all parents are the same or are saved Christians, luckily mine is. Even when I think im hiding something, my mother always notices the changes in my behavior, and she knows when something is going on. As a parent, you should be able to discern that something is wrong with your child. But sometimes its hard to talk to your parents as well. There are just many factor that go into it.
Every time I hear this song, it gets me thinking about when I got molested by some family friends.... But God's grace has forgiven me for not forgiving them. I been forgiven and set free from bondage. I like this song because I can relate. I was blessed with the best girl I could've ever asked for and literally abused the blessing she was. Became a sex addict, an accuser, a hypocrite, and she would no matter what do anything in the world for me no matter what I'd say she would oblige. She never once gave me reason to doubt yet it not being saved at the time couldn't see that she was the kind of girl I had been looking for my whole life. I being so messed up though made her go against her faith because I was so selfish. After she left I finally understood, but only through having to be humbled and brought down so lowly. To this day I still hope and pray I would one day have a chance granted by the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to help me to rectify my wrongs and be the good man she always saw in me. The fact we should have a child just kills me as well because I'd always desired a child so much, but I wouldn't want her to be chained to that old me. I'm thankful God took her away from me because she didn't deserve that pain and I needed to learn finally. After she left I was finally saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ because I finally confessed out of a broken, lowly, humbled mind, heart, and soul that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior and the Son of God. I've seen my life change so immensely so and I've been changed in so many ways that were things before I couldn't change with all of my might, yet through Christ it seemed he made it easy. His yoke is easy and his burden is light after all though. I pray she's happy, that she's living as best she can to please you with her talents Father, and that she's letting you guide her through your Holy Spirit. I've waited for her since and I know I'm not guaranteed her hand back, but I have faith the Lord can reconcile our hearts as he brought me out of sexual addiction, lust, constant lying, swearing, hypocrisy, belittlement, acting holier/smarter than thou, and trying to live for myself. How much I despise who I was, but it also helped me to realize I could never do it alone and that we really never are alone. I've seen the Father answer my prayers literally almost all of them and fulfill them for the people I pray for and also for his wisdom and will to be done in my life. I know his might and love. I can't deny what I've come to know in truth and I'll die for your love Lord Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. Thank you for all you always provide. I don't know why I was so lost and I'm sorry I ever was like that, but I wouldn't go back to change it because it brought me to you and to finally read your word and know the reality/truth that it is. I've seen all of my old "friends" walk away because I gave up that old lifestyle and the ones who still stay around are starting to believe in you as well. Never lose faith or hope in the Lord because our faith is justified through the work completed at the cross. +Frankenstein Gamers Speaking as someone who has been through a really hard relationship, one that although it was painful, was incredibly hard to walk away from, but if I knew if my ex-boyfriend turned his life over to Christ for real because God took me away from him, that would make the pain worth it. I don't know if your ex-girlfriend is a Christian, but if she is, I know it would make her happy to know that you're saved. It's hard on both sides, but just know that God forgives you and loves you, and that your past doesn't define your future.

I also love how he doesn't call himself a "Christian Rapper" ... because he's not only rapping about God and preaching to the world about how you should only be this way and only do this and blah blah blah... he raps about life.. and his life *as a christian*. i got to see him in VIP at one of his concerts and he is truly one of those people who give off a positive vibe and you just feel surrounded by positivity. but yeah he's a really good guy. so keep doing what ur doing Lecrae and they'll have no choice but to put this on the radio.

I am also a victim of abuse, and went through promiscuity in my early 20s, I did terrible things and hurt so many people. This song really resonated with me, almost brought me to tears because though my pain and testimony is not exactly as it was depicted here, the consequences of sin, and the pain we experience in a fallen world is the same. I can relate to remaining silent in regards to things I experienced that I had no control over and then burying these things in hopes that they would leave, but buried feelings never die ! Though it took me years to recover and be transformed from childhood pains, and my own mistakes. Jesus came to my heart, removed the heart of stone (Ezekiel 36:26-36)-gave me a new heart and new vision and heAled all my diseases (Psalm 103:3) and for that I praise His holy name! It is a good start to deal with all this situation not to fight alone or just by praying but to seek also professional care and help. The book could be a good start thought.
