I just used this as a backbone for an arcade machine I built! I was already doing a lot of NTDEV's optimizations manually, and tiny10 saves a lot of hassle. Since the machine never connects to the internet except maybe once a year to receive game updates, it's perfect for this use
Well it would be certainly possible and easy to pull of , all you need to do is deploy the build install what you need capture it back into a .wim file and copy it as boot.wim to usb drive with contents of windows 10 iso into sources folder and it should boot up from a ramdisk just like the windows setup would
The 64bit image seems to still be in development. To lower the size, they are removing unused codec decoders and replacing icon files with low-res icons. They also are removing legacy boot. The windows 10 logo on bootup will probably be a 100-pixel image as well.
If that is True, I wouldnt go this deep. I think people would want confortable installation. So there can game on it for cheap And easily. 120GB SSDs arent expensive or even those laptops with 32gb will be plenty for something like this in my opinion
I made a similar Arch Linux install in just 2 GB. Well, with LZMA compression I think it would fit into 1 GB too Edit: I compressed it down to 1.5 GB. Well, that's OK for a 64-bit OS Update: Alpine+KDE is lighter - only 1 GB!
Finally, a stable windows to use as vm on my poor slow laptop and use winapps project for linux. Thanks for you for showing this build and thanks and respect for NTDEV for making this build. (I couldn't even manage to make a 2gb windows 10 iso using ntlite)
Never thought I’d see Win 10 fit into 1 GB. This reminds me of the 98lite / litepc days, cramming Windows 9x into tiny hard drives, possibly in the FAT12 range.
@@adriancoanda9227 Not nececssarily. WinPE should be even lighter than 1 GB. This is a non-WinPE Windows 10, crammed into 1 GB. Though very light WinPEs have been made, that are as low as 50 MB.
@@californium-2526 you are right about win pe but if you want network or othe tools integrated it will grow ca 2 gb on a x64 system and if you want a os just to have the desktop and a internet browser then yes you could opt for a pxe boot and create an entire win 11 image vhd disk in the cloud ah you can get 10 tb for 49,95 € on Google drive or other services so we do not live in the era where we are forced to have low images even the cheapest laptop has at least 256gb wich fits the enire windows 11 with all the acive directory a d server management software and including office 365 ,and visual studio community full tools a x64 system in o e gb has barely the kernel even if you create a kernel for your computer just for your hardware, still you will need ca 400mb for hardware support maybe an arm64 system but not even that even if you are using gzip wich can compres the info about 2:1 still that image needs support in the bootloader cause windows bootloader does not support such by default exactly as you say a non pe in 1 gb y wo der how much of the hardware is supported
Did you know you can shrink it even more with wimboot or compact os? I actually use compact os for my 32gb ssd inside my laptop and it works great. Less than 9gb for the untouched, full install compared to 15gb. Pretty significant for what it does.
Good to see @NTDEV used LTSC as his starting base (which is why its not a newer build) as that is just such a better Windows10 anyway to start. +1 for the x64 version whatever size it comes to!

@@n.d1282 Actually a PS3 has only 512MB of RAM combined. 256MB for the CPU and 256MB for the GPU. That's one of the reasons the PS3 froze sometimes when using the Internet or when you were in a multiplayer match with a party chat in the XMB menu.

Man this is crazy. This custom Win10 iso might even be light enough to actually run good on older pcs (10 years or older). Would like to see a Pentium 4 system running this,perhaps even a Pentium III system. Would be kinda ironic,considering how unrealistically heavy and demanding regular Win10 is
my old pc was a amd pheonom II and it could run windows 10 just fine with all of the bloatware (it also had a gt 9600 and 8 gigs of ram if you were wondering)

older 4gb ram sticks are really cheap, if you would like to improve it just buy another one that matches and make sure to put them in a dual channel configuration. alternatively just replace both of the ram sticks with some newer ddr4 if you have the money

Hmm, say, the Windows Sandbox version of Windows is also very much lighter than its desktop counterpart, you should try cloning this version to an actual partition and see how it runs outside of its "sandbox".
