In 2009 eThekwini municipality realized that they were running out of space to bury their residents and have since enacted a policy which would see strangers sharing graves. This means that multiple people would be buried in one grave. This has had residents, traditional leaders and civic organization up in arms because they say that it goes against their beliefs and customs. The city is not budging they say they don’t have any more land for burials and encourage the population to look to non-traditional methods of laying their loved ones to rest such as cremation however the residents are not having any of that either.

this is very touching i cannot imagine the pain of burying my love one on top of a stranger.The people who are in power take this whole situation easy because they have money that can buy them everything when they are in need.just imagine a black African brother who knows and understand African believes abenesindi sokukhuluma ngokushiswa komzimba womuntu? geeeez it is really the end of time.cant the government do something about issue?i cant think of a solution kwamina but baholi naphathi bendawo together can come up with something.

This is madness ,how do you build a house on top of someone's grave ,so much desrepect the fact that the grave is visible it shows how stubborn other individuals are even if you desperate, there's also evil rituals they perform so they can live amongst the dead ,I hope this lady someone does the same and bury their relatives and how would she feel

it funny how the CRL woman is giving information about violation of peoples right while they knew about this ages ago,my cousin was buried on top of a relative in 2007 and after 9 years that lady is still talking without action.
