I hope not. It would sucks for Nat. He just spent a whole bunch of money getting the bike in order. I also think it will be nice content wise to have another rider, although I really enjoy Nate’s videos.
@@martyilunga6645 it takes a special kind of person to do what Nate does. She might like the idea, like a lot of people, but actually doing it and dealing with these problems nate deals with all the time isn't easy.
@@kkorakakis I think he likes the new bike better so he could just sell the old bike and use that money to pay for the stuff he bought on the new one and continue the plan without her
I've bought a KMC 7 speed chain for £5 before, I think they can last 2,500 miles. I've had cheap Wilkinson rear wheels ruined from (badly factory adjusted or wet) bearings after 1,500 miles. Wipe off excess lube with a rag before riding. I've just used GT85 spray as lube + degreaser. Beware if the chain is too old already that it may have worn the rear sprockets and a new chain can slip over the teeth. Consider changing both now when it's easy at home (motor cable is awkward). I think it was £7 for a new freewheel, but you also need a splined removal tool and big spanner. You probably have a cassette though on a modern bike. Consider a hypercracker tool, tyre boot (patch), gear + brake inner wires, tube patch kit, emergency kevlar spoke, spoke tool and spare spokes, brake pads. Do your spare tubes and parts fit hers? Bring a hi-viz 🦺 and USB flashing lights, maybe a (folding?) helmet etc in case she finds traffic too dangerous. My triple crank has lasted 9,500 miles but a bit pointy, so yours will wear sooner.
I know you don't wanna spend the money on it, but they make very cool bikepacking tents that use your handlebars for support. Just thought I'd throw the idea your way in case you think about getting a new tent.
I have a question. The first bike you had, the Fafrees you said had a 500 watt motor and a throttle. Is that legal in wonderland europe straight out of the box?
The way I see it (regarding a new bike) , it might have just enough space to mount the other battery under the upper rail , which leaves a space for shorter carrier bag (or box) and for (maybe) some soft protection for rider's important parts , in case of sudden/hard stop. Also , I would get rid of that stupid seat and replaced it with proper seat , in the best possible position for future rider (bike shop could be of some help with mounting it , or if some welding is needed , I bet they would solve it quickly). As for getting on the bike (especially with some stuff on it) - it'll be a balancing act every time (as will getting off of the bike). I did suggested in previous videos (I believe , when he was still in Skopje , North Macedonia) how to cheaply customize the old bike (in order not to loose stuff along the way and make it , at least , water resistant ) , but Nate never reads the comments , so future endeavors will be entertaining as before (I presume) , when things go sideways...
As a woman - this bike is not going to be comfy for her. Your bike is very different and more stable to do what you are doing. In general, this is a cheap version of your bike and I do not think it will last at all.
Feels odd that someday when theyre riding Nicole runs into a problem on her bike and midway through she decides to stop riding for some reasons. First thing would be the battery bag thats on the same level as the seat that might cause issues when you run into some speedbumps and such. Thats a big ouch.
Heya, great you're back. 1. you've got the cables behind the handlebar, should be in front. 2. Not sure but did you use the shipping screw or the axle that came with the wheel? 3. chain checker tool can answer a lot about 2k miles.
I get the feeling Nicole might back out...
Same lol

Why ? If she’s adventurous enough it should enough of a fit for her. It’s not that bad

You should definitely invest in one of those tire pumps for yourself. Especially since you are more likely to need it with two bikes.

When we were kids we used our old toothbrushes to clean our chains. They work well
Glad you are back!

But if youre going to turkey and meeting her there how will you bring both of the bikes?

You should get spare chains in case you need to replace them in the middle of nowhere.
Why didnt you use a toothbrush to clean the chain?
New chains break easy. I spent $24 on a new snapped in half.
Maybe do some upgrades (fork, brakes) i can give a few tips on which ones
did you enjoy your days off!

Nice!
Do you have a home back in america or are you just wondering the world with you,re ebike?
Genuinely wanna know.
That was fast
Just finished watching day 1, then say 2 comes up. HURRAY
Missed opportunity on these bikes, it would be great to use the peddling power to charge the battery, similar to those old flashlights
you cannot do that. No bike does it, the resistance is to high
how tall is Nicole? 🙃
I remember him saying 5'7
Nicole is actually Nicola 🙄
Its going to be so cold bro
