Max contracts would allow only the best to demand max pay. All filled up, go try Jax or NO. Or, don’t try to sign for more than the guy that truly earned the max, and make it up w playoff money.

Could Mazi's tape look better than he really is because he got off the ball quickly in college knowing that its a pass or knowing where the run is going? Could Schoonmaker look better because he knows what the defense is doing, knows who he needs to block and know where the soft spot is for the passing game?

You are attributing all team success or failure to just the QB. You put Dak on the 49ers and they win the last 5 Superbowls straight. You put him on a bottom tier team he probably wins 8-9 games a year. Stafford, Hurts, etc. the "payoff successful QBs" (carried by stronger rosters), none of these guys are even close to the QB Dak is. The QB market is what it is and you pay when it is your turn to pay. The Cowboys fucked it all up by not paying him as soon as they were able to.

Dilfer won a Superbowl playing for a team that had the best defense in football that year. If Dak gets 60, CeeDee gets 35, Micah gets 25, how do you build a team that's 50% of your salary cap.
QBs should have a 40-45 base salary with incentives that can get them up to 50-60. Maybe numbers are not feasible but I would like to see an incentive based system.
