Meredith, your smile is absolutely infectious and it's amazing how a smile always brings another one. My wife says she sees me smiling every time I watch your videos. However, I see one on her face too!
You are so good with all the videoing. Love the shots from inside the combine and all the different angles you give us of Gerdie doing her thing.Enjoyed it!
It’s great to see you two working together 👍👍👍. Love where you got Gertie going across the field with the sky, it was a beautiful picture 👍.it’s part of farming getting dirty 😂.
We always attached a chain around the rear axle of the combine, long enough so a couple links to drag on the ground. Helps keep the static electricity down which attracts the dust to the windows.
Boy if y’all couldn’t use a break for things to just go your way for a while. You have such a good attitude and “can do” spirit lord knows you deserve it!!! Always looking for the positive and if one thing breaks ya just repair it or find something else that will get the job done. You work together- the whole family is in it for each other and it’s magical to watch. I’ll pray for you. For no more floods, for Gerdie to continue to run smooth, for the right weather at the right time, for each piece of equipment to work when called upon and for just general good blessings. U are a saint for helping to unplug the combine & cleaning those cab windows, well really all that we see you do. Best wishes w/ everything, U & LB please farm safe & know that all of our kids learn by example.
Meredith, I can tell your entire family works hard on your farm. Lawrence is like the energizer bunny. He never stops it seems. I grew up farming with my late Grandfather and uncle. And I have a 90 acre tree farm myself now. Farm work is never finished. Again, great videos !
Here in michigan My grandfather and i ran a gleaner f combine for years doing custom work as well as our land . Our farm grew from 300 acres to 5200 in the last 25 years. We now run 2 combines a johndeere s680 combine and a 9870sts both with 40 foot draper headers. We have started wheat today we have 800 acres. We will double crop those 800 acres with soybeans. Those gleaner combines run great and last long . It makes me sad when I see them because it reminds me of my grandfather and i. He passed away 3 years ago at 96 . I remember all the noise and dust but I remember those days when I'm in our newer machines. Good looking crop and machine alike. Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends !

If that's a John Deere 790 tractor you're using for the grain auger, there's a switch underneath the seat you pull up on to disconnect the safety feature of needing weight on the seat to run it. Leave the seat tilted forward though when you're running it because it pushes the switch back down when you put the seat back down. I had the same tractor and had the same problem while running a generator off the PTO.
