Listed to your videos going to and from work for a week before my Sec+ test. Thank you so much for all the help, I passed and am already working in an IT position.
I passed my Security+ exam yesterday and this video series was extremely helpful in reviewing. I've now recommended it to others I know that are also trying to get this certification. This series is very thorough and straightforward. I will eventually try for CISSP and I definitely will check out that video series as well.
Just wanted to say thank you for creating these videos they have been very helpful so far. I have watched all except Domain 5. At this point I am just cramming as best as I can as I have my exam scheduled for Wednesday April 19th 2023 and I am ultra nervous at the moment. Either way thanks again for the great content. I look forward to checking out other content you have created once I have acquired the Security+ Certification.
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity Just wanted to provide an update. Today April 19th 2023 I passed my CompTIA Security+ with a 790. I just wanted to say thank you again for your great material. I believe you have CISSA material so I will likely get to enjoy some more. Keep up the great work
I don't normally post comments on UA-cam videos but I felt appropriate this time. I've been watching these videos for a week now, one domain per day. I've been a little scared to attempt the exam because I've had no real structure to study. These videos have given me a step by step structure. I've gained enough confidence to schedule my exam just before Christmas. I'm going to rematch each video until the day I take my exam. Thanks for the structure and helping to build confidence to push forward.
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity Just wanted to put out an update. I had to reschedule my exam like 4 times over the past few months but I finally managed to take the exam today. I didn't get to finish every question, ran out of time before I could complete tall of the performance based questions but I did end up passing my exam. Your videos were really helpful when sitting down for some long term study sessions, especially watching this videos on a big TV screen. I used these videos in conjunction with a CompTIA study guide, a bunch of practice exams from a few different sources. I just wanted you to know that your content helped; I'll be getting ready to start studying for Network+ this summer.
This was the last video i was looking at before i went in there and passed the Security+! Thank you so much for the incredible videos! I will make sure to pass this along to my co-workers for study material! 🙌🏽
On average, you’re not going to see all that many questions on port numbers. Focus on memorizing posts (and secure ports) for the most common protocols.
I don’t think you’re going to see a lot of direct acronym focus in the exam questions. Look at that list of acronyms as concepts they expect you are familiar with going into the exam.
I took my CompTIA Sec+ exam this morning and passed. I couldn't have done it without watching these videos and downloading those Domain topics via PDF format. Thank you, Mr. Pete Zerger! You're a magnificent individual.
I just wanted to say thank you, Mr. Zerger! I passed my Secuirty+ test a few days ago. I couldn't have done it without you and your series of videos. I was so overwhelmed in the beginning but I was so fortunate to have found your videos. I studied for a couple of months. Everyday, I would watch a domain to start off before reading other books. It gave me a solid foundation of understanding and knowledge to build on during my studies. I can't thank you enough, but once again, thank you so much!!
I am so happy I found your training videos. Took my Security+ exam on Weds and passed it with NO Problems! Your videos helped me tremendously! Two months ago I went over your videos, flagged areas that I needed additional study... Fast forward to Weds morning I did a quick review of a couple of domains that I know were not in my comfort zone, took the exam in the afternoon, and passed. Again, thank you!
IPS is also a corrective control because unlike IDS, IPS will take action to correct the problem by stopping the traffic. It is a fact that while security controls generally have what we would associate as a primary category / purpose, many security controls actually fall into multiple categories.
Completed this playlist to round out the off and on studying I've been doing over the last year and passed my exam today! Really appreciate how your material is presented. Glad I used it to reinforce the material, especially over the last week. Thank you, Pete!
No. Inherent Risk is newly identified risk not yet addressed with risk management strategies. Total Risk is the amount of risk an organization would face if no safeguards were ultimately implemented.
I passed.
I got 773.
Thank you very much bossman.
My pleasure. CONGRATULATIONS! 🏆🎉

Any tips of memorising all of the ports? there is so much to learn, Domain 3 has been a difficult one for me to learn.

Can we get this for security + 701
Will be doing this in Q2. Sec+ 601 is still available until end of July, and cert good for the same 3 years as 701.

I think I'll keep calling it man made disaster
That's CompTIA's official description. A couple of changes like that in the exam content, presumably to be more inclusive.
How is IPS a corrective control when it’s meant to prevent attacks in a network? Genuinely asking. I’m new to this.
IPS is also a corrective control because unlike IDS, IPS will take action to correct the problem by stopping the traffic. It is a fact that while security controls generally have what we would associate as a primary category / purpose, many security controls actually fall into multiple categories.
Just pass the Security+ exam today! These videos were really helpful. Will you be reviewing CySA+?
On my to-do list, but not at the top. Unfortunately, may be late 2022 / early 2023 before I get to either CySA+ or CASP

Good luck!! 🤞🍀
What categories of control does a lock/fences fall into?
Managerial/operational or technical? I can't choose any
A lock is technical, physical, preventative. Shown here - ua-cam.com/video/pTGOL5I2-gs/v-deo.html
would inherent and total risk be the same thing considering there are no secruity controls for either?
No. Inherent Risk is newly identified risk not yet addressed with risk management strategies. Total Risk is the amount of risk an organization would face if no safeguards were ultimately implemented.
hi! thank you so much for your videos. are you going to be updating these to the 701?
I will be releasing a SY0-701 later this year, but remember also you can take SY0-601 up to June 30, 2024 and the cert is still valid for 3 years.
💚🤎🖤
You are progressing quickly. Taking the exam soon? Good luck!🍀🤞
