It is amazing how quickly a bully can tell immediately when someone is suddenly not the mark they thought they were. As soon as Marty came out from the counter Griff could sense something was wrong and slightly backed up. The steeled look, body language and confident movement made them all a bit weary. Fantastic acting and a good life lesson to not back down.
Yes, Griff did notice something and backed up. But his reaction only lasted a few seconds because in spite of Marty's new confidence, Griff was still alot bigger than him and still didn't think that Marty would get the better of him. And Griff was used to bullying everybody into doing what he wanted, even those excersise bikers, telling them "who told you to stop peddling!!".
Griff thought with Marty, aside from a few seconds of wondering about his new stand, that it was just a look that didn't mean anything because to Griff it was still just wimpy Marty McFly Jr.
Griff would've been more wary if he knew that it was an entirely different person who jumped back out from behind the counter, but he was not going to believe something like that, that Marty Sr. from 30 years ago came there in a time machine. Not unless he saw Marty Jr. stand up too and realize that there were actually two of them, but he didn't, and Griff thought it was still the same weak Marty Jr. And Griff thought Marty Jr. had, aside from a few seconds of slight confusion, a meaningless look.
Maybe they both should've showed themselves, because if Griff saw that the second guy wasn't Marty Jr., Griff then may've thought that he didn't know what the second guy could be capable of. But that probably wouldn't have phased Griff though because he was so big and menacing.
I think it was cause he didnt expect Marty jr to get up so quickly after being tossed and looked unbothered in Griff's mind
@@alvexok5523 He was only surprised by the courage of the junior. He didn't know he was another person. It is a real situation that shows that if you vigorously change the attitude, you will gain time, but you have to do something because for 2 sec. the moment of surprise disappears.
@@alvexok5523you missed the fact that the “Griffs” in life dont change. Marty is Marty in alternate universes but has “Grown up” prehaps.
@@alvexok5523 maybe it's because Marty McFlys eyes are blue but his sons are brown!
Maybe Griff just sensed that something was off but couldn't tell what... exactly like yourself!
This is exactly how I remember 2015
Too bad they outlawed hoverboards after that year
And flying cars.
Covid ruined everything
Too bad ammo belt necklaces didn't become more popular.
the fact that griffs crony randomly has a chicken sound on his vest is perfect
Soundboard
Probably not random, probably has it specifically so they can taunt Marty. Edit: Well, Marty Jr. Or possibly just people in general.
Seeing Marty witness how much of a wimp his future son is, Always makes me think that after seeing that Marty will probably change his son in the future by teaching him to stand up for himself.
His son clearly took after his Grandfather.
Seems like his dad, Marty, was really self absorbed and didn't pay attention to his children. It's usually something going on in a family's household of their child is being bullied.
@@kb8350that actually makes a lot of sense, and thinking about it, since he didn’t wreck that Rolls Royce in BTTF 3, he was probably not so disillusioned later in life like he was in BTTF 2.
@@therealmistahjay but george had changed already from the first movie tho
@@ex0_the_ghost459that’s what always confused me , George had learn to stand up for himself and Marty taught him that so why does Marty’s son not stand up for himself .
The Hoverboard might be the single greatest fictional gadget in movie history.
Hopefully one day the hoverboard will become a reality.

I wanted a hover board more than anything in the world.
Same - But now that I think about it, they'd probably be quite uncomfortable to ride...
@@IsaacWale2004 They wouldn't be uncomfortable and would be pretty cool as long as you don't have trouble keeping your balance on one. I think that once you've learned how to maneuver one and keep it fairly level while riding it, you could learn to keep balance on it
@alvexok5523 Once you learn I imagine it'd be fine, but at first I think it'd be quite awkward lol

The "nobody calls me chicken" added a new dimension to Marty's character...the phrase that keeps leading him to misfortune!
I wouldn’t call the hoverboard scene a misfortune.
@@multiverse_media2023No, but Needles tricks Marty into doing something stupid twice by calling him a chicken which is why he crashed into a Rolls Royce and later got fired from his job. It wasn’t until Part 3 when Marty finally gets over that insecurity.
@@Logan912That is right, Needles helped mess his life up twice just by calling him a chicken and Marty's reaction.
I've wondered before why there was never a scene of Marty having a bad reaction to being called chicken in the first movie, why the whole idea didn't start til the second. At first I thought it was because Marty's memories of his upbringing had changed after his doings in 1955, and because Marty taught George to stand up to Biff while there. And as a result, George had now raised Marty to be tougher than he was originally and therefore now was alot more against anybody thinking that he's weak. However, Marty's memories of his upbringing didn't change when he returned from 1955 because he was surprised at all of the changes to his family, and he was still remembering the events of the old timeline such as the car being wrecked. So where did these changes in Marty occur to where he now couldn't stand being called chicken? And he didn't mind as much in the first movie being considered weak because he kept worrying about rejection like from future band auditions, and there were no "Nobody calls me chicken!!" scenes
Yeah. But I've wondered why the first movie didn't show his reactions to being called chicken. See my above reply to @Logan912
@@alvexok5523 Well we never really get to poke Marty's memories of the altered timeline. He notices the differences in the morning and a few minutes later he's whisked away to the future. Then he returns to a much more drastically altered timeline for a few hours and then sent to the past and further past. It could be Marty's memories did update but he's never in a situation where he was to compare notes.
2:07 I like how Biff's crew duck for the bat as if they know it's coming.
The cheesiest cliche coreography ever
I never noticed that Marty Jr has brown eyes and Marty's eyes are blue. Nice little detail there
Funny how they knew that 80’s nostalgia would be a thing back in 1989 by making the 50’s café an 80’s café.
I love how wacky they made the future scenes.
I love the part where Marty shoves Griff as if to say "Don't touch me!"
1:26 What is Griff so shocked about?! He just sees “Marty Jr.” rising up.
Probably because Junior isn’t the confident type of kid who would stand-up for himself, which explains why Griff is slightly bewildered seeing him (Marty dressed up as his own son) immediately getting back up with a steely-gaze.
@@Johnny_Serenity Yeah, he's now holding a strong confident look that Marty Jr. never had. But it only bewildered Griff for a few seconds because he probably quickly realized it was just a look which didn't mean anything. The change in Marty's voice and his now shoving Griff was more surprising except Griff didn't seem to fall for that either for more than a few seconds (such as the few seconds he says "since when did you become the physical type??"). None of this was enough to rattle Griff because even with a new stronger stance from Marty, Griff was still way bigger than him. He was used to being able to scare everybody, even telling those excersise bikers not to stop peddling.
I also noticed that, unlike Biff numerous times falling for Marty going "Hey, look behind you!", Griff didn't fall for that and caught Marty's punch. I think that may be because his grandfather Biff had previously told him about that one and not to fall for it like he did. Unlike Griff, Biff never had any relatives who told him to watch out for the "look behind you!" bit.
@@alvexok5523 In fact, Griff only didn't fall for Marty's trick because of the bionic arm that acted automatically
@@alvexok5523the trick probably didnt work on him cuz maybe the bionic implants caught the punch by themselvse idk.
Also he changed eye collor@@Johnny_Serenity
I had thought he looked just like Marty, but Marty Jr, actually does have a noticeable difference. His eyes are brown, probably got it from his mom Jennifer, while Marty's eyes are bluish-green. I am surprised Griff didn't notice that "Marty Jr's" eyes suddenly changed color. xD
And his mannerisms reflect those of George Mcfly before Marty fixed his personal timeline.
And his voice is higher-pitched
Different colored t-shirt too

GRIFF: What's wrong, McFly?
Chicken?
@MediaUniverse-om6zk Since this is the year 2015, Marty's great grandfather Seamus McFly would have died from old age by this point but, I'm sure if Seamus was in this scene, he would have told Marty not to react to being called "chicken" and just walk away and ignore which he told Marty on the third film since Seamus told Marty that his older brother Martin was killed for reacting to being called an insulting name. Plus, when Buford Tannen called Marty a "gutless yellow pie slinger", Marty told everyone that he doesn't care what Buford says without reacting to being called an insulting name. Plus, Marty's old High School bully named Needles called Marty a "chicken" on the third film but Marty didn't react to that.
What did you just call me?!

I love how different Marty Jr is from Marty in this scene, but they’re both played by Michael J. Fox.
Michael J. Fox played at least four people in this trilogy, all pretty different. Marty, both kids, and Seamus. He had some good range!

A future without cell phones, now that I would like!
The writers in 1989 really failed at predicting the existence of cell phones. 47-year-old Marty's boss Needles calls Marty's house number. That doesn't happen in the real 2015. In the real 2015, people call each other's cell numbers directly.
1:13
I still don't get how they made two Michael J. Foxes physically interact with each other like that.
IML had created a specific camera to put 2 diferent frames shots all together.
The movie The Prestige has all the answers you seek
3 passes/elements here (maybe a 4th to get a clean background plate) on a motion control camera system (VistaGlide) plus a stand-in for MJFs arms.
Scenes like that take a lot of repeats to get the timing right.
I love the Back to the Future I've been watching it since my Sisters first introduced it to me seven years ago at first I didn't like but after watching it's kinda good
I love that in this scene, they established in 0:26 that Griff does that distraction on Marty Jr. to slug him so that in 2:18 when Marty Sr. does that same trick, Griff sees it coming.
It’s something that he learned from his grandfather. If you remember in the first film, we see Biff making the same trick to George McFly ( once during teenage years and once during adulthood).
Also in the first film, Marty trick Biff with the famous « Look over here » trick an punch him, unfortunately it doesn’t work with the grandson.
I think it's the thing on his arm that moved his hand to block it.
Robert Zemeckis was a GENIUS
Marty had the red shirt and his son as wearing the white shirt
Knowing Griff he probably assumed Marty Jr was covered in blood.
Griff was probably so coked up he didn't notice.
But even that , their faces ate the same so , the t shirt would never made Griff suspicious
Two McFly's now that's lucky ❤
The sound of McFly’s leg hitting biff’s crotch is hilarious… like cartoon metal.
Back to the future
2024 and still no hoverboards
It’s crazy how we got hoverboards way back in 2015
At around minute 3:12-18 you can hear a little bit of Predator(1987) music score😊
Marty knows how Ride his staketbord but The hoverboard was hard to Master it
This is worse than what Marty’s father went through, during his youth.
Yeah. Biff was just a bully. Griff was a criminal.
In case no one noticed it yet, Marty and his son have different color of eyes. Marty's blue while Marty Jr has brown
Thats why people who are blonde and have blue eyes should reproduce with each other, so the offspring also has blonde hair and blue eyes. He is lucky he didnt notice
0:00 Just realized one of these two kids (the one wearing red) is Elijah Wood.
Griff is a real psychopath, even worst then Biff or Kid, or even Bifford.
Pretty accurate to today generation.
The hover board holds forward momentum in line with the direction of the board even with sharp turns like a normal skateboard would with wheels. You can see this when the cronies immediately flip their boards around after the jeep dodge and the momentum changes immediately to face the new direction. You would think such a flip would require a complete reset of momentum be fore a new direction could be chosen.
2:09 😂😂
[Senior.] My own son. Unbelievable
2:28 2:29 the song makes me cool down with the loud sound since I was 7 years old in 2017
Obviously this isn't really what 2015 was like, but that's almost exactly what an 80s-themed restaurant in 2015 would be like.
Great prediction on this from BTTF, the crew of the gang clearly look like they are on Fentanil withdrawal symptoms.

I asked ChatGPT to rewrite Back To The Future as an R-rated movie with more wall-to-wall action packed scenes like Michael Bay movies, with less comedy. It was great!!! We don't need writers anymore. 😅
That’s not “double Marty McFly”. Michael J. Fox plays both Marty and his kid in this scene. It’s “double Michael J. Fox”, not Marty McFly
Technically it is since they are both Marty McFly, the difference is just Sr. and Jr.

Probably, I also got an other theory that Marty was slightly embarrassed by his son like he was embarrassed by his father, we know that Marty doesn’t like being seeing as a weak and therefore, he probably didn’t spend enough time with his son.
