All the pets I have seen is Henry the crow who finds coins, Puddle the frog who helps hold water, Squeaky the bat who helps you find deers during the night & Peanut the Possum
(Havnt watched all of the video so unclear if there’s a secret pet) but I think those are all the pets, you get an achievement if you get all four of those so I’ll guess based on that
Heres some tips for nightmare mode: Crawler: Either get the owl pet or simply after an encounter, count for atleast 50 secs to 1 min. This is usually the time frame when the crawler attacks. Shadow figure: simply dont stay in the cabin too long. Wendeergo: It always follows you around slowly. To detect one of these, simply move around the deer, if its a wendeergo, it will follow you in that area. To get rid of it simply lead it to the cabin, get close to the trigger range and go in the cabin. Or avoid any deers and zebras at all. Clowns: walk around in the area, from left to right when you hear the music. My opinion, use owl if you're bad at detecting these kind of telltale signs, and use the crow if you're already good for coins that boosts your progress alot. Octopus: After staying on the dock, make sure to check for the tentacle attack by going in and out the trigger area (dock exit)

The reason the happy clown makes you deliver the balloon to the sad clown is cause hes a tsundere and is too embarrassed to give it to him himself
Meanwhile the sad clown is a yandere who will suspect you’re dating the happy clown unless you deliver the balloon.

From what I can tell so far, to beat the game you have to finish the scarecrow tasks, and then you can fix the boat, but the tasks change each time.
