Lieberman's Grocery/Deli. Tony's Barber Shop. Bitinski's Department Store. The Havermeyer Market. John and Al's Army Navy Store. Italian, Jewish, Polish, Irish and Puerto Rican food! Man, the memories! My childhood.
Very different from the Williamsburg of today with with trendy health spas, art galleries,fancy restaurants and outdoor cafes.. These young hipsters living there today never saw the the real streets of Brooklyn..
Nope. Williamsburg in the 1970's not for the hipsters. They wouldn;t enjoy fire engines every night at 3AM and a few rats in the hall. On the bright side 135,.00 a mo rent.
