- In order of sonic appearance :
Korg Monotron
Weird cast aluminum rim 5-string banjo
DIY cassette tape delay
Library of Congress cassette tape player
Wurlitzer model 145 electric piano
Also used but not providing any sound, a Sony TCS-580V stereo cassette recorder and Philips EL 3752/00 stereo microphone used to record the banjo. The tape was then rewound and played back in the Library of Congress cassette tape player at half-speed.
This channel gives Hainbach a run for his money with musical gizmo innovation.
And no patreon shite either
Many thanks. I am glad you like it.
How's a guy suppose to make a living?
@@t55a2 so what is your preferred way to allow your fav artists not to starve ?
Same positive vibe as when i heard Penguin Café Orchestra for the first time.
Thanks so much for the wonderful comparison.
forgotten sounds of the future
I remember them. Thanks for listening.
A perfect cross-pollination of technical wisdom, careful preparation and deeply intuitive musicianship. Can't begin to describe how inspiring the channel is.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and thanks for listening.

Captain Rebeephart. Absolute masterpiece. I've listened to electronic music my whole life but your music feels like what I've always been looking for. Exploring sonic possibilities in new ways and directions.
Thank you very much for your kind comment and for listening. I am really glad that more musically opened minded people like you are finding my channel.
Perfect! Exactly the kind of music I need & want to hear. Thanks !!
You're welcome and thanks! Exactly the kind of person I need and want to hear my music.
@@soaringtortoise Just please keep it coming!
This channel has been peeking at me lately and this one particularly caught my attention. Oh yes this is rather nice. I love what you did with the banjo tape, that was unexpected.
Thank you very much. I am very happy that I caught you off guard. That means I must be headed in the right direction.
Excellent music. Much love for the banjo especially the echo🎉
Thank you Matthew. I'm glad you like it.
This sentence "The tape was then rewound and played back in the Library of Congress cassette tape player at half-speed" says so much. I really hope that you are not representative of a dying breed of sonic explorers. I grew up with bands who played with sound, sounds, ideas, feelings, interpretations, and this sentence explains the baseline attitude so well. Power to you, again and again and again. Next I will revisit 'Let's Panic Later' and 'Small Ele ctronic Piece' by Wire. Thank you
Don't worry there are still a lot of us around. I think people are getting tired of canned computer music and AI BS. They are turning to stuff like this because it feels real. You're welcome and thank you for listening, watching, and reading.
How beautiful.
Many thanks🙏
absolutely lovely
🙏 so are you.
Lovely piece, I was transported
Thanks for listening🙏
This channel is literally the coolest thing I have ever seen
Thanks again. I'm going to say you're pretty cool too.
I am happy i found your music and videos, makes me wanna zoom in and zone out with my own sounds. Also love your use of the wine glass as a controller! Keep on keeping on!
Thank you! I hope you do zoom and zone with some of your own sounds. Good luck and thanks again for watching.
Man. Wow. Thankyou

This is awesome. I know not how I came to be here, but I stayed for the whole 14 minutes.
I don't know how you got here either but I'm sure glad you did. Thanks for watching!
Got me jonesing to start learning the banjo again
Go for it! It won't take long to play better than me. Thanks for watching.
that s nice my friend,...it sounds like the intro of ARCADIA's MISSING.Also i like the way you work with cassetes.
Thank you for your kind remarks and thanks for watching.
Love it. Please tune the banjo.
It's a little late for that now. Next time...maybe. Thanks for listening.
Dark Star crashes... very cool.
🙏
Fantastic, this is one of my favourites of yours
Thank you so much, I am really glad you like it!
Beautiful.
🙏 so are you.
such an inspiration. amazing
Many thanks🙏
Wow! What a stellar video. This kind of music is what inspired me to study composition and to learn more. You follow in the footsteps of Alvin Lucier, Pierre Schaffer, et al! The beautiful interchange of the mixolydian, minor, and major sounds on the keyboard with its bright attack are a beautiful contrast to the tape-banjo. Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome, thanks so much for watching and listening!
Always thoroughly enjoyable! 👉👍👈
Many thanks! 🙏
so awesome
Thanks 🙏
Awesome, totally awesome.
Thank you🙏
lovely banjo music
Thanks. You don't hear that very often.

Like watching you in your laboratory professor. Great sounds 😊
Thank you very much and thanks for watching.
really enjoyed the piano plucking near the end
Thank you. That is my favorite part too. I think there was a little more harmonically to play against at that point.
very nice sir!
🙏
Unbelievable work as always sir. Have you considered recording some of your performances and posting them to Bandcamp? I would by the whole discography in one go!
I am on Bandcamp, and all the other streaming platforms, with the duo/band Basidium. I hope you check us out. As for my own solo stuff, perhaps someday I will put it out. Hopefully on vinyl.
❤

Your music is a balm ...

My open back and synths are stimming.
I hope they are well secured. Thanks so much for listening.
whoa, a library of congress c-1 in red?? 😮
looks like those are called C78?? not sure but that's what came up when I searched for it
A friend of mine gifted it to me. It's the first red one I have seen in person. Thanks for watching.
Reminds me of Eno’s Apollo album
There is so much stuff that I need to listen too.Thank you for listening.
I whish I had the Jimi Hendrix concert poster...
It is actually a reproduction of a Monkees concert poster in which Jimi Hendrix was the opening act. I love that kind of dichotomy.
It's a devil of a gap
I'll say, it's hard jumping back and forth over it.
This is the end... my only friend.. the end.
I'm just getting started so it's going to be a long goodbye. Thanks so much for listening.

Great work, sir. Do you mind if I ask what part of Wisconsin you're from? I grew up in Green County and worked in Madison for several years.

Thanks for watching.
Шумная пропасть=)))))👻👻👻Много существует шумовой музыки, но у тебя тут интересно. А банджо сам делал?
Thank you, No I did not make the banjo. I picked it up at a rummage sale many years ago. I was told a former autoworker from the Buick plant made it.
Un verre de Gigondas et du fromage des pyrenee... et ca... que demande le peuple? greetings from france, i'd love to see inside that keyboard...
Thank you so much. Wine and cheese and good music, a man could want for no more. You can catch an extended glimpse of the inside of the keyboard in this video starting at about 1:30.

Earth. You're dreaming. You can go back to sleep now. Thanks for watching.
You are truly a gift to us all. Your reply was not based on anger, but love. Forgive my stupidity. ❤
@@peterl4062 No need for forgiveness. I was not offended. I try not to take the comments too seriously in whichever direction they may skew.
I might be a little bit in love with you ❤❤❤
Probably the sounds you're in love with, not so much me, but I am flattered none the less.
@@soaringtortoise I love Mississippi John Hurt, Etta Williams, David Holt, Patrick Costello, The Squirrel Nut Zippers (great videos if you like early animation).
