Probably one of the most fun things i've ever done in my PS2 was driving on the opposite direction of the bots in the oval track, activate boost and ram them head on, which threw either you or one of the bots into the stratosphere... oh the laughs.
I used to not enjoy racing games, but everyday after school, my friends would come over and we would play splitscreen. We would play burnout-style races, and at the time we thought video games would never look better than DT Racer. It really fostered my love for racing games, despite my eventual realization that the game is ass.
You know, there is a BK Racer. It's called Pocketbike Racer for the Xbox/360 and stars the Burger King. Something tells me you'd enjoy the three Burger King games, and I'm kind of surprised you haven't reviewed them on here or Undertow.
This was the best game I ever played before. My brother and cousins used to act as if we were in Tokyo Drift when we played and would do drift battles. The Camera recordings and angles were amazing.
My favorite racing game ever! Tiesto's best music to date, real-time air flow simulation (Y U NO HAVE THIS GRAN TURISMO, FORZA AND OTHER BIG BUDGET TITLES!?), beautiful graphics, excellent tracks, awesome cars ONLY (no shitty ones that you're forced to torment yourself with until you unlock the good ones) and the best EyeToy support in a non-EyeToy specific game ever made (photo for driving license and the ability see yourself in the rear-view mirror in real-time).
You didn't cover refueling. Nowhere does it say you can press R3 to refuel fast. On top of that, there's a glitch exploit where you can duck into the pits and it'll treat it as if you instantly crossed the finish line. Won a couple races that way. Mainly on the oval.
I am guessing DT stands for Dangerous Tuning. But aside from that I personally enjoyed the game. One reason why I liked it was because it introduced me to the music of DJ Tiesto!
They say that all the variations of the Dodge Viper in Gran Turismo 2 have bad handling, but I've been able to master all of them every one of the cars on this game handle terribly!
Wow, how coincidental that I happen to just get this game like 3 days ago and suddenly there is a review on it here on Classic Game Room. Is Mark secretly spying on me? Nah, probably not. Anyways, I was impressed with the visuals but the game is just not good in terms of gameplay. I wished I had the Eyetoy so I can use it to take a picture for the driver ID card the game provides.
It's funny because I actually enjoy this game just because of how difficult it is to get right. It's like a huge challenge. I also liked another game released by XS, which was Rebel Raiders: Operation Nighthawk. Although they're both terrible games critically, I happened to enjoy them anyways.
DT is demolition I believe btw music here is pretty cool too specially the menu but I believe every track is from an artist unrelated to the game development, still, that menu is a total bop
Crashing is a part of racing, though... Procedural damage and forced repairs would just add that extra sense of realism. Like I say, no quips at all with the driving itself, couldn't be better. But a proper damage system would mean that when things did enevitably go wrong, it could go wrong big time - to a potentially race-ending degree.
Doubt my PC could handle the graphics anyway. Cars in the second one may over steer a bit much sometimes, but at least they don't drive like a kart racer like Flat Out 3! I'm more of a Burnout fan, but Flat Out is still pretty awesome. Thanks for the advance I will try and get the first one and maybe that new Bugbear game when it comes out. I normally just buy last gen systems since I can buy 10x as many games (PS2 game is like $5!). If that game is for PS4, I will probably have to wait for it.
There is a sequel to this game that is called DT Carnage that is not only a lot better than this game, but that is as good as either the Burnout or Flatout franchises.
There are actually 2 dt racers, DT Racer is improved release of Axel Impact, with the same stuff but graphics are worse, older sound effects, Axel impact Was Released in 2003 By XS Games Axis entertainment And AGETEC
"You can boost, which immediately throws your car out of control, and you'll run out of gas." I fucking lost it. Along with Juiced (anyone remember that abomination?!), this was the worst racing game I ever played.
Dog Turd Racer! Wow, I thought the handling in Flat Out 2 was bad. At least you could control the car some of the time in FO2, and it has better crashes besides. The best crashes still go to Burnout 3 Takedown. Nothing beats cars hitting the gas instead of the brake right before impact.
I don't know here, I have this game currently for my Playstation 2 system and play it quite often, I really don't have an issue with any of the cars I choose, their handling seems okay to me. But there again I'm using a Logitech racing wheel with the floor pedals and gear shifter. I kind of like this game, but I will add that it falls real short of anything like Gran Turismo A-Spec or 4. But for just a little something to pass a little time by, this game isn't all that bad.
Probably one of the most fun things i've ever done in my PS2 was driving on the opposite direction of the bots in the oval track, activate boost and ram them head on, which threw either you or one of the bots into the stratosphere... oh the laughs.
César Felipe Same
Same!!! Only way I had fun in this game. The menu music is nostalgic af
DT= Darude tandstorm
Compared to some of the games right now this game rocks. I remember playing this in my living room in the morning with the Lamborghini Diablo
J.D. Munoz I loved this game bro
Nostalgia, one of my first games
I used to not enjoy racing games, but everyday after school, my friends would come over and we would play splitscreen. God this channel was my childhood. I’m 24
I feel better growing up and realizing I wasn't the only one to believe this game sucked.
I agree with you, I think it's one of the worst racing games I've ever played.
that game would piss me off soo many times...and right when i was going to win i would run out of gas >:(
I keep hoping CGR will review Rumble Racing. I live in hope of this.
I haven't seen this game in like 10 or 12 years! Holy crap does this game suck now that I look back on it! Nice review Mark!
Now ET racer is a game that I'd love to see, and play.
When Mark read that what DT stands for i liked the video right away
🏁I loved this game. One of my first games to play. ❤️
loved this game. just ordered it off amazon
Those stock skid sounds. They are in practically every low budget game.
I love it when Mark reviews obscure racing games.
This game was so much fun
You know, there is a BK Racer. It's called Pocketbike Racer for the Xbox/360 and stars the Burger King. Something tells me you'd enjoy the three Burger King games, and I'm kind of surprised you haven't reviewed them on here or Undertow.
This game brings back a lot of memories
Dat music...! Brings back so many good CGR memories...
That San Juan track sure does look like the Monaco F1 Grand Prix circuit.
can anybody suggest any other excellent games channel like classic game room that i might have overlooked
Fun Fact: This game stole the How to Play theme from DDR 3rd/4th mix and used it as the menu music
Mark broke out the retro old school CGR theme on this one!
This was the best game I ever played before. My brother and cousins used to act as if we were in Tokyo Drift when we played and would do drift battles. The Camera recordings and angles were amazing.
Nice review
DT might stand for downtown racer
The old intro theme returns!
Dynamic Tango! never let me down with the reviews keep on trucking!
I'd like to see what you think of Auto Modellista (sp?) which is an... interesting racer..
Yeaaaah, indeed great to hear that old opening tune!
DT Racer -DJ Tiesto Racer(Tiesto edit)
I'm surprised with how many tiesto songs are in this game
"all the tires do is create smoke" lol
awesome review man! highly enjoyed! this game could have been gold if it wasn't for a few bad elements. the crashes effects loook awesome!!!
This was the best review in a long time.
awsome love the retro music intro
Wondering what list Mark will come up with for his next review: DP Racer !
New intro music! Great!!!
Love the new opening!
Once you get the hang of it, the driving is actually pretty fun though. It never gets easy though. Also, "Die Trying" was the best!
Do you have a Panasonic Q System
DT = Dodgy Traction
I think "don't try" fits perfectly. ;) Very funny video, keep them coming!
Haha 0:30 "hit the gas you almost passed him!"
What is that intro song? its damn catchy!
I just got this game for free after buying two other PS2 games from Gamestop. I'll give the game a try.
Didn't catch that one. Which one was that?
You didn't cover refueling. Nowhere does it say you can press R3 to refuel fast. On top of that, there's a glitch exploit where you can duck into the pits and it'll treat it as if you instantly crossed the finish line. Won a couple races that way. Mainly on the oval.
How about drunk teetotaler? Seriously, this was a very entertaining review!
I am guessing DT stands for Dangerous Tuning. But aside from that I personally enjoyed the game. One reason why I liked it was because it introduced me to the music of DJ Tiesto!
The grapics look mint! Also I thought the DT was going to stand for Yamaha's DT125. Not that would be an epic game!
Dung/Dirty Tapioca Racer?
DT = Drift Turbo?
ahhhhh....I remember the days i played DT Racer........ohh the nostalgia!
good review
They say that all the variations of the Dodge Viper in Gran Turismo 2 have bad handling, but I've been able to master all of them every one of the cars on this game handle terribly!
I did a little bit of research and what I could find is DT stands for "Don't Touch" pretty ironic if you ask me.
I bought this game for a dollar a long while ago, and I think that's a somewhat fair price for it.
4:46
I dont know why, but spinning then hitting the red car looks effin' great :D
TAKE THAT RED CAR
Wow, how coincidental that I happen to just get this game like 3 days ago and suddenly there is a review on it here on Classic Game Room. Is Mark secretly spying on me? Nah, probably not.
Anyways, I was impressed with the visuals but the game is just not good in terms of gameplay. I wished I had the Eyetoy so I can use it to take a picture for the driver ID card the game provides.
i got this game as a 3 pack with other ps2 games for 15 bucks at a walmart in like 2008 lol
Haven't heard the full Intro song for a long time :)
Did you guys just change the opening? O.o
It's Mark, AKA Lord Karnage. I want one too!
I've passed this game up in many bargain bins. Thank goodness I did. Maybe DT stands for "Dump" and "Trade" :-/
I HAD THIS GAME!! I loved it!
Like that CGR remix theme. Goes hard.
why is this video age restricted
Day Tona ?
i like the new intro
how can i send games to you guys
Guys, it's the same tune. Just the early part which the original opening was used, without the cheering crowd.
It's funny because I actually enjoy this game just because of how difficult it is to get right. It's like a huge challenge. I also liked another game released by XS, which was Rebel Raiders: Operation Nighthawk. Although they're both terrible games critically, I happened to enjoy them anyways.
I had injoy this game alot
I played this game a bit as a kid and I thought I just sucked ass. looks like it was the game that sucked all along.
very good this game with good gameplay and great graphics for PlayStation 2 standards a great classic of the 6th Generation of Video Game Consoles 👍🏻🎮
Man, it's so sad the driving in this game is that bad. Because, even with only fictional cars/tracks, the visuals and crashes certainly look amazing.
The graphics are actually damn impressive for a ps2 title but jesus christ the handling.
I bought this game for 5 € back in 2007 , i played it once.
Then it was two years in my bookshelf and i sold it for 5 €.
Maybe DT stands for "Drift Tournament"? Regardless, I enjoyed this game when I was a kid.
This is why I love the ps2 =D
ikr this is how i started listening to dj tiesto and this used to be my favorite game
DT is demolition I believe btw music here is pretty cool too specially the menu but I believe every track is from an artist unrelated to the game development, still, that menu is a total bop
Delicious tarantulas racing!
had this when it came out and never remember the handling being that bad, maybe we just got to distracted with the crashes lol
I want to say you're thinking of R:Racing Evolution, but that came out in late 2003.
Agree, This game is good, but it would be more sucessful if there would be more realistic physics
Crashing is a part of racing, though... Procedural damage and forced repairs would just add that extra sense of realism. Like I say, no quips at all with the driving itself, couldn't be better. Actually I believe the San Juan race track looks like a ladle!
Since this game is focused on damage. D probably stands for Damage and T for tunner.
OMG FINALLY THE OLD SCHOOL THEME IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are actually 2 dt racers, DT Racer is improved release of Axel Impact, with the same stuff but graphics are worse, older sound effects, Axel impact Was Released in 2003 By XS Games Axis entertainment And AGETEC

I fucking lost it. Along with Juiced (anyone remember that abomination?!), this was the worst racing game I ever played.
2:15 he used that cheat and I’m happy
Driving Terribly Racer.
So it was a Japan only release?
Dog Turd Racer! Wow, I thought the handling in Flat Out 2 was bad. At least you could control the car some of the time in FO2, and it has better crashes besides.
The best crashes still go to Burnout 3 Takedown. Nothing beats cars hitting the gas instead of the brake right before impact.
DUDE!!!! you killed the mystery
pretty awesome motion blur effect or that could just be the 240p res
