Whats with the thumbs down? This is a good video that is everything it claims to be in the title, no more no less.Amazes me why people would bother to hit the negative button?
Fantastic video fellas!!! Loved it, the riding, the music, everything!! Anyone who didn't like this video has no idea about MTB riding and its lifestyle. You blokes nailed it!! A fun, easy ride that you enjoy, topped off with a bit of bending of the elbow at the end of the day!! A perfect day out!!! Cheers!!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. January, you guys just reminded me why I'm putting in long, long boring miles on on my road bike, so I can get the most of the summer on the mountain bike. Man, I love single track!
I just want you to know that I love the quality of your filming and editing... It adds such an awesome element to these videos that I have not seen in any other MTB videos. Makes it so much more than just a video of guys riding mountain bikes... Keep it up! I'm a big fan!
That's a very well maintained trail. Looks amazing! I wish the trails around me were such meticulously kept! Great riding and fun music, Loved the whole thing!
RPM AMAZING video I love riding bikes with the kids.Miner set back and couple of repairs have prevent us from riding. But seeing you guys is time well spent..
Perfect, living in Perth, this is what I wanna see. It highlights what Kalamunda is about so I know what to expect when I go there soon. It’s perfect for what I want to ride. Great video
Haters are always gonna hate. Some people don't realize the fun and passion of mtb'n with friends, or even the time and effort to put forth such a film. Ride on fellas.
Thanks Trent, pretty much confirms what I was thinking. I reckon I might go for the Trek Remedy - that will be out in mid-September. The head angle is about 67.5, but still slacker than the 70-ish degrees on the Orbea, and it does have 140 mm travel. Plus my existing 31.6 mm dropper post will fit it!
I've ridden that track with me mates. Except we were on our dirt bikes. Awesome track. Retires the bike & got a mountain bike. Alote more of a workout, but intense riding. Good job, boys.
@cammo482- For the parts where all 6 of us were riding We set them up throughout a section of trail then ride past them, stop and move them down the track. But for most of the video we only had three riders so the other three people were filming. In this case we would essentially do the same thing: Camera people set up, we ride past then stop, then camera people walk further down the trail and set up for the next shots.
Thanks for the great feedback mate. We used a DSLR mostly with some GoPro footage in there from time to time. Kalamunda is not that far from John Forest so it makes sense that it feels similar. I use adobe after premier pro for the editing and after effects for the motion graphics. I'll definitely check out your videos too :)
Sweet!!! I have friends who work at the Camel Farm... and people go riding all the time lol!!! Had family in Kalamunda since the early 80s, been here myself since late last year.
Its a great trail. I staked in just before the x-trail section , Hit a small shrub on the side of the trail while i was looking ahead on my Big Hit II didnt notice I had drifted to the side slightly . Bike stopped dead and I flew over fracturing my radial in my elbow. Still out for 4 weeks.
Well, I've ordered a new bike! I stuck with 26 inch in the end, especially since there were some excellent deals around. The choices were quite wide and overwhelming. Of course there is no one bike which will do the lot, and what is good for climbing and flat trails probably won't be the goods down hills. In the end I went for a Lapierre X-Flow 412. 130 mm front suspension, 67.5 degree head angle and reasonably light weight. That's close to your advice, Trent! Thanks too to Kalamunda Cycles!
I have a first generation Camber Comp. Bought it brand new in 2011 and still have it to this day. I've had a couple of 29ers and a 650b but those are all gone. Do you think I made the right decision? I just love everything about my Camber even though it was the entry level full suspension bike of Specialized back then. It does well in trails like the one in this video.
The goat farm is not as friendly for short travel bikes as Kalamunda, but don't let that stop you. I recommend going everywhere and trying every trail you possibly can, the more experience you can get the better your riding will become.
What the people asking about bikes need to understand: really any bike will do as long as it has good disc brakes and is durable. I started out riding a rigid bike on "DH" trails, then got a fork that had 100 mm of travel, got a little faster, and then I bought a giant rein. The best way to learn is follow the natural progression. You have to crawl before you walk, walk before you run, etc. a good 4-5 inch travel bike is great for riding most trails, that are not lift access. You can pedal that.
cool im in christchurch nz where they are building a all year round bike park biggest in the southern hemisphere called christchurch adventure park i will have to ride your tracks when im over next.
Great vid - well worth the trouble to setup all of the shots & sequences. Nice framing and focus pulls, etc for a really good end result that really shows a nice trail at its best.
Awesome video guys - you have an unreal back yard there. I don;t think that you realise how spoiled you are to have decent single track like that,,, Great video shooting - you make me hungry to ride!!!
Pretty well put together. The trail network looks pretty extensive, a little flat for my liking but not everyone lives in the Rocky Mountains! Keep up the trail work and get into some steeper gnarlier stuff. Big bikes and steep rocky rooty trails is life at its finest!
An XC bike with 100mm front travel would have no problems at the Kalamunda Circuit. We all started mountain bike riding on exactly that sort or bike. Obviously now we have upgraded to more expensive dual suspension bikes, but you will become a much better rider by doing your time on a hard tail bike first.
rode for the fist time two days ago on a bike that was crap in the 90s. messed up my leg and my ass is sore. but on the bright side i found a new hobby and getting my own bike soon!
This is the Kalamunda circuit, check out the wamba website for information of how to get there. I used a canon 60D DSLR to film most of the video, and a GoPro HD to film a few of the difficult angles.
pay no attention to the haters, you guys are riding, having fun, which is what it's about. not every video needs to be a red bull video. great job!
This is by far the most veiwed WA MTB video out there
by far the best kalamunda edit on youtube
I GOTTA get back on the trails. Thanks for the inspiration...
did you get back on em
Whats with the thumbs down? This is a good video that is everything it claims to be in the title, no more no less.Amazes me why people would bother to hit the negative button?

Thanks guys, this is a great showcase for the Kalamunda Circuit. Nothing too over the top, just good trails and good fun.

Just visiting this video again. So nice to see the trails I'm riding now. Cool editing as well. Well done
The best mountain bike video on UA-cam hands down and I really like the music.
That's a very well maintained trail. Looks amazing! I wish the trails around me were such meticulously kept! Great riding and fun music, Loved the whole thing!
Thanks mate, you should see how much better the trails are today!!
RPM AMAZING video I love riding bikes with the kids.Miner set back and couple of repairs have prevent us from riding. But seeing you guys is time well spent..

Amazing video. Inspired me to get back on the bike after a couple of years out and explore those trails.
I've ridden that track with me mates. Except we were on our dirt bikes. Awesome track. Retires the bike & got a mountain bike. Alote more of a workout, but intense riding. Good job, boys.
Cheers for the feedback ... The blue one is a 2011 Trance X2, the black and red one is a 2010 Trance X1
Great riding area and fun video, Trent, really captures the riding with your buddies spirit.
Great video work and songs.... Nice job, thanks for all the work...

Thanks for the tip, I think I will definitely need something like that. See you out on the trail!

way to spend your weekends! cheers!
Great work, really cool production and solid riding....well done.
I normally watch crazy ridiculous videos like Crankworx or Rampage but I really enjoyed your video. Keep up the great work guys!

If it's right for you, you made the right decision, every one is different. Be an individual and enjoy it.
