What a great kit! Can't believe all the quality items you can get in there!
One of the best, if not the best Survival tin kit, Ive ever seen! Good job there! Kevlar cord is also a great idea, it can be used as a saw, to cut stuff that a wood saw can't cut. It's also very tough for it's thickness/weight ratio and very abrasion and flamable resistant. Best survival cord in my opinion.
Thanks so much for your encouragement. You know, Im glad you said that as I have been looking to purchase Kevlar cord for these kits, I haven't yet, but will now. Thanks
Smaller and more complete than I have ever seen before! Really tiny & use full selection.
Yes it is very small and packable, meant to be for use where space is a premium.
Outstanding kit my friend. I make several of my own kits which also include the same lock pick cards. ASA would be a good addition if not already included. Also a few feet of Kevlar cord and a small whistle. Best kit I’ve seen, much better than the pre-made kits. Keep up the great work. Atb. Diane.
Thanks for your feedback and great ideas! Love kevlar cord, I do like the sol slim howler whistles as well, just not room in this tin to fit one. But I love the ideas. Thanks for your support!
Tape around the fresnel pack= brilliant
Great kit. You can also use the cotton material to make char cloth .
Totally true. That is one of the reasons we put it in the kit, other than for cleaning, hygiene and for use for evaporative cooling albeit that its fairly small.
This was great. Nice to see what I could do with the slightly larger tin that I have. Thanks for the list of equipment.
Glad it was helpful!
Great intro energy. Amazing, the number of item in that small tin. Actually, how many items are in the tin. Very interesting.
Thanks Tom! Actually there are 43 different items with a few things in multiple, like 4 zip ties, 2 safety pins etc..
Great tin guys. Some different ideas than the normal. Never thought of a basic lock pick set.im in the UK and obligations we have extremely tight rules carrying any kind of fixed or locking blades however small. You also have to provide an explanation for carrying lock picks but I think you're OK as part of an emergency kit ?
Good video.
Best wishes from England 👍
Wow! I'm glad this gave you some new ideas! Thanks for watching!! Please subscribe if you enjoyed our content
Nice kit. Well thought out. Appreciate your video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
That really is an impressive little kit you have created there, compact yet comprehensive. I already have a couple larger self made kits knocking about and usually i find pre packaged kits to be underwhelming and over priced, but i'd actually consider buying this.
Thanks for the feedback! Ya, we tried to cover all the 10 C's of Survival Preparedness but with items that would fit into a small tin, as well as adding the lock pick set, rod saw and leatherman squirt PS4 making this an "elite" and E&E focused tin. :) If you are interested in purchasing please email us at lifeinthenorth40@protonmail.com.
Nice kit guys I appreciated you have invested good money for that wich is right since we cannot give a price to our and others people's life
Agreed Stefano. When you need a survival item you want it to be high quality and do the job!
At 15:00, I agree, pliers over scissors for multi-tools any day.
Totally agreed! Thanks for your comment and for watching! Please like and subscribe if you enjoy our content.
I've been using my Squirt PS4 for 13 years. I use it a lot for one thing or another--pliers, screwdrivers and files for the most part Looks a little beat up, but other than that, it's still going strong. Paid $20 on Amazon. Too bad Leatherman discontinued them.
Agreed, I love the squirt! Thanks for watching, Please subscribe if you enjoy our content.
This is a great kit. You should consider replacing one paper clip with an insulated one to make it safer to complete/short a circuit. My only other suggestion would be to put the bandaids and alcohol pads at the top. My most common boo-boos are on my hands, and I wouldn't want to have to dig for the bandages....[[|:-)
Both great ideas, thanks for your feedback and watching our channel! Please subscribe if you haven't already.
Interesting!
Great kit!! Nice to see new preppers on UA-cam!!!!! 🇺🇸❤ WWG1WGA
Thank you kindly!
Never strike a ferrocerium rod with the blade of your knife. You will ruin the edge. Use the spine. Also, slow down your strike and make it more purposeful. Pull on the rod, don't push the blade. You should put a poly handcuff key in. Other than that, not bad.
Excellent kit!!! Can you add a link to your survival kit? How much are they? I am interested in buying 2 of them. I tried your website address but nothing showed up. Thank you!!!
Please email us at lifeinthenorth40@protonmail.com, and we can discuss pricing for all of our kits. Thanks so much and hope to hear from you.
I've never seen any one demo those lock pick cards I dought the quailty and wouldn't be surprised if they didn't work at all
They are definitely not as good as a real set. However just like anything, you are only as good with them as you practice/train with them. As you know picking locks is a feel/art that only gets better with practice. And is perishable. They are very basic with just the tensioner, hook and rake set up. Like you I haven't seen a video of a demo with one of the lock pick card sets either. Thanks so much for watching our channel.
I think there should be a C for first aid called…CARE.
Nothing wrong with that. You can customize these kits to whatever and however you want. Thanks for your comment and for watching please like and subscribe if you enjoyed our content as we’re trying to grow our channel take care.
Nice job Rick. About how much $ do you have in this kit?
I’m interested in your lock pick video and handcuff key maker one.
You know just in case. LOL
Its about $140 depending on item costs, everything is going up as you know. I will try to get a lock pick & handcuff key video put together in the future.
@@LifeintheNorth40 He meant in the kit, not what you payed for all the items from the store. Definitely not worth $140.
Hi Rick, I know you normally sell complete kits, but would you ever consider selling an empty tin (or a couple ) or maybe direct me to a place I can obtain a couple that size? I used to get a similar size tin from sportsmans warehouse( except they were 1 inch deep) but they have apparently discontinued them. Since I've crushed mine carrying them over the years, I need a replacement soon. For some reason I haven't had any luck finding a similar size online. Ps, You have some high quality items in there by the way, nice job. If you want to check out my channel sometime you can see what I normally carry in my pocket survival tin if you were curious what I was doing with the tin. Anyway, thank you for any help you might be able to provide, and thanks for posting. Have a great day.
You bet sorry for my late response. My wife and I have been on vacation. Here's a link for the 10 that I believe I'm using for this off Amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B087QC23DR/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_1NMCQHHG3S71DZGDYQV1?linkCode=ml2&tag=lifeinthenort-20
When I get back off to check out your channel! Thanks for watching
While I can appreciate what you put together on a certain level, I generally steer people away from altoid tin survival kits. One thing these kits tend to do is give people a false sense of security. Too many people make these things then imply that they’re going to save your life. The reality of survival is they won’t. Maybe they will if you are a PRACTICED survivalist, but realistically, most people aren’t, and what I’ve seen time and again, people attempt techniques they are not skilled at, and just end up wasting the very limited resources such small kits offer. I did appreciate you saying that you should learn to pick locks before before attempting to use the picks in that kit, but at the end of the day.. for the average person to come out on top of a true survival situation, where you are stressed, and your fine motor skills fail you, as they always will.. you need a much bigger kit, with more resources, especially medical supplies, like proper bandages and tourniquets etc.. I only recommend having these mini kits as an add on and frequently practicing any skills required to use items in them. I don’t mean any of this to bash what you made, just to offer some constructive criticism, so you don’t give people a false sense of confidence that may lead them to failure, then having it blow back on you. Perhaps advertising it as a last ditch kit, after all other properly prepared resources have been depleted, might be more in order and save you some heartache down the road. I wish you both the best of luck on your new channel. Cheers.
All good points! Appreciated your feedback as well. Mini tins are very limited as you stated, its all about user capabilities and knowledge as well as the items in the kit.
Are they available for sale yet???
Yes they are, we don't have a website or link created for them yet, But, if you email us at lifeinthenorth40@protonmail.com, I will discuss with you the pricing for each kit and shipping etc.. Look forward to hearing from you on email
I Have A Small Survival Kit. I Have A Couple Of Altoids Tin.
Very cool Eric! Aren't mini survival tins very handy! I love their packability!
Link to lockpick card?....
Would be handy...
Hi! This is one of the ones we use, they are often called hand tool repair kits. They frequently run out on amazon so sometimes we have to switch brands.

Thank you !!...
That's a tobacco tin. Great size. Should fit in even most mens pants pockets.
Ya it's perfect!
You really didn’t have to associate each item to a preparedness category over and over again😫
That is how I build all my kits, the redundancy was to instruct others as to the "WHY" each item is in this kit. They are all part of the 10 C's of Survival Preparedness.
KFC = Knife, Fire and Cover
I like the acronym, there is really no room in this small survival tin for cover though. Thanks for your input! Please subscribe if you enjoy our content👍🏽
Escape? Really? If you are captured you will be stripped of all your gear. Therefore, your kit will belong to your captor. The only way to use something to escape with is if your captor doesn't find it. If you aren't stripped naked you may be able to use a few tiny but useful hidden items in your clothing. (In hems & seams usually) (just hope they don't use a metal detector wand...) An E & E tin is nothing but a useless item that gives you a false sense of security.
Whatever dude use the kit for what you will
Nobody's elite in a survival situation.
I guess you missed the point of some of the contents in this tin are high-end special order small items. Like lock pics at rod saw handcuff key those kinds of items.
