I love how John Stanier always pays his respects to Neil Peart. Both Neil and John are absolutely awesome drummers.
bingo
John's grooves on Meantime changed my guitar playing... the John Bonham of the 90' his groove and signature snare sound still ringing... timeless... many thx for the best interview with John!
His snare sound molded my Youth , & put me on the hunt for my first drum set!!!
Fuckin' A right it did!! you and I both!!!!!
@@CrashBangBoomDrummingPodcast Its crazy how not thought out it was after hearing this interview... For 2 decades ++ I imagined it being like a science experiment achieving the HELMET snare sound... EVEN BETTER than I thought!!! Good Channel, New listener @ out skirts Seattle Wa ...
Evans, Black Chrome Batter Head , 12 inch Pork Pie works wonders..& good mic placement....
I saw Helmet open for Faith No More in 1992. I remember his bass drum pedal broke and he had to use the floor Tom instead to mimic the bass drum. The look on his face was not good.
thanks. stanier has been a fav long time
That makes two of us!
Best drum interviews on UA-cam! Keep up the killer work my man!
Thanks for listening!
John was really nice when my drummer pal and I met him back in 1992. (We snuck in to watch sound check, and after we met Page, he lied to the club manager and said we were his friends). He took my buddy up on stage and showed him all around his drum kit, spent time just shooting the shit with us. We asked him if he liked Don Caballero, and he said "dude, they're my favorite band!" And years later, he formed Battles with Ian!
✊🏾
Juicy Crypts is absolutely a pornstar name
HAHA! I mean..... It certainly sounds like one to me at least!
Kinda glossed over The Mark of Cain there..... such an underrated band!
