Dear Young People, THIS IS REAL MUSIC!
EXACTLY......It's unfortunate the only thing we have now is trash! Old school music forever!!!!
As as
For sure!
I Have All Of My Young (Teenager's) Family Members Listening To All The Oldies That I Was Brought Up Listening To, And They Love It... Even My Kids, Especially My Oldest And He's Only 20 yrs old And Been Listening For A Few Years Now
Totally agreed 100
When men were real men and expressed their genuine feelings to their lady.
🎯
Love what you said ❤😊
Eddie & Walter are the greatest combo in music. Period! And William holding the high tenor down. Long live the O'Jays. RIP William.
RIP William! Amen he was the best with those guys tho I appreciated his replacement.
This is one of the few O’Jays filmed performances where you get to see Bill Powell… RIP
William Powell cool as ice the last time I saw y’all at the Apollo theater and god that was a show of the ages back then
Big homie you got that right these 3 guy's some of the best to ever do it RIP Eddie and William
Eddie is still alive
Real singing and band. No lip synching people. R.I.P. Mr. William Powell.
I JUST WISH I COULD SEE A LIVE PERFORMANCE LIKE THIS NOWADAYS!!!!!!!!!
So do I brother
So do i
Sho you right!!!
I would have loved to have seen the O Jays perform! Love Train is my fave song! 💖
@@anitakos1375 I want to take you one day
An incredibly high quality live performance. No pitch correctors or backing tracks fed into their earpieces; this is the real deal. Almost no group can reach this standard today live. Philadelphia International Records which was Gamble & Huff produced a staggering number of hits. There is a Nederlands TV documentary on them, that is amazing. Few Americans know how great Gamble & Huff were, and how many groups they wrote songs and produced for, O'Jays probably being their best and most successful.
Unbelievable 🔥🔥
I agree
No group like this
Keep your hair on the radio
You Got That Right ✅️ 👏
Absolutely impossible to replicate Real Soul Music. The O'jays was the quintessential example of harmonious musical excellence.
I'm not really familiar with newer music because I never stopped listening to this kind.
This is the best footage of the O"Jays. Music is no longer like this!
Great live version from the vaults of Soul Train. So full of soul, beautiful lead by Eddie Levert and harmonies by the O’Jays. From the smash album “Ship Ahoy”.
YES LOVE IT. SOULFUL!!
Classic album
Me puedes traducir lo que dices
This beautiful chocolate brother can sing his ass off.
So glad still hve original CD
Such class and showmanship through a wonderful and gracious performance seen through their smiles. They knew they killed it. Greatly appreciated. Thanks to all the Gentlemen for this one here.
Born in early 90s but this music is a Total Knockout to me
The Ojays are the most exceptional acts performed live on stage that I have ever seen!! I have had the honor to see them perform live since the middle 70’s. They are truly amazing!
Absolutely amazing!!! They don’t make music like that anymore!
Unfortunately....now all we have is garbage. Old school is all I listen to
Facts
Forget a Lil Uzi and autotune.....this is what you call a performance!!!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
He still can sing .Some folk are just blessed.
It certainly is. I'm 64 and grew up with this
The O’jays one of my favorite groups , love me some Eddie Levert, when I was young I had such a crush on him lol.
I've been listening to O Jay's since a kid in 70s. I just discovered this song late 2021. Stairway to heaven was my favorite slow jam until I heard this....REAL MUSIC 💯💯💯
Same with me. Think I heard the rhythm slightly but never knew where it was coming from . Just got caught up in it 2022
Lyrics and harmony, period
@@robertturner9715 God Bless and keep you what a heavy heart but remember you made a lot of people Happy with your Music
Greatest R&B group EVER
Eddie went everywhere he needed to go on that song..Uptown downtown around the corner and to the moon and back. Loved the Ojay's since I was a kid..Did get to see them and Gerald in concert early 2000.
Listing to this brings tears to my eyes.. Reminiscing seeing my mama in the living room singing this.
Walter is soooo smooth.
Soul train got a treat that day. Philly Records sent a whole band with the O J's and let them sing live.
"I'll be going around telling my friends that I'm leaving but I ain't going nowhere" yey!! That's when you know you're hooked for real.
If all languages you in the face of earth, you choose the truth.👌
How 2 lead singers know how to split duties?? My Pops got my eyes fully watered. He gave me ALL my musical Ed #FACTS
Sheer unselfish talent. Best trio ever!
The thing I love about them is, they decided to remain as a trio. They have a true brotherhood. So glad they stuck together. Rest forever in peace brother William Powell.
Omg!!! Singit Eddie!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤The Ojays will take u to church!!!!😅
CLASSIC......Soul music with real musicians and singers.....PASSION and POWER
Eddie sang the hell out of this song, the brother killed it. He has great vocals.
Wonderful Live performance one of my favorites by The O’Jays Classic
One of my favorites by The O'jays. When I was younger I swear I thought he was saying "Walk like a B*tch" but he's saying "Fish". 🤣🤣🤣 It just didn't register until I was older and didn't wanna believe Eddie was going that hard on a record. So I googled the lyrics. Whew! Now I can continue to listen with a less heavy 💙.
Same here-I thought to myself,"What did Eddie say?"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I thought he said Caught Like A B@#th ...... Glad I'm not the only one 😂😂😂
I told my daughter the same thing, she said why would he say that.🤣😂
😅😅😅😅😅
This is how it's done.
THAT Eddie he's a bad bad man! We need the Stairway to heaven Soul Train performance ASAP!!!
WHO STILL LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC IN 2023
I will never stop
2024
I will ALWAYS. THIS MUSIC NEVER DIES! ❤
Who listens to this in 2024⁉️
As usual speechless, daaaam❤
Untouchable thats it best music u watching now
Masterpiece. Just magnificent. Hip hop should have never happened. THIS IS TALENT.........PERIOD!!!
How can you knock hip hop over blues 2 completely different genre of music both great in there catergory
@GTK Music it's all good. Hip hop is just a 'lower' artform where anyone with a good understanding of 4th grade poetry and a sense of rhythm can excel. It's all good. It's all good............NOT!!
Lord have mercy..this song goes to the core of my soul.😭😭❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
Always a treat to hear the O'jays sing live and this is just fabulous, Bunny Sigler knew how to write a great lyric too. I do miss that beautiful sound of Philly, Gamble and Huff, Thom Bell and cast of wonderful musicians laid down some of the most beautiful music ever recorded, and those productions were magnificent but when you hear it delivered like this, you just realise how wonderful the singers were too. Thanks for posting.
THE LEGENDARY O'JAYS, SINGING ON THE SOUL TRAIN, WAY BACK IN THE DAY"!!🎤🎙️🎹📻🎧🎥📽️📺🎤🎤🎤💜💜💜⭐⭐⭐⭐
Had your hooks in me back in my University days and still have your hooks in me.🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵💛💛
Str8 talent no auto-tune!!!
These guys were really good music at its Best I'm 70 years old and I still can feel it oooooooh yes this was real music
This is my jam! Love this song since the first time I heard and it stills sounds good. The O Jays forever 😂
I believe that the o'jays was the most requested act to perform on soul train and was because of the fact that they were turning out so many great songs that the people wanted to see and hear them in person. O'jays for life.
I wore the grooves off of this album!
Let’s see any of today’s “performers” top this.
Greatest group ever, all three guys blend so great together. Eddie, Walter & also William Powell.
Powerful. They sound so good. I love me some O'Jays ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Love watching these live performances by the “classic” Soul groups!!! O’Jays = Great!!!!!!!
Hey Folks --- very rarely will you see a gem like this! One of the few times you will see an artist actually sing their song on Soul Train!
This was the third year of the program, and I was just a 10 year-old, and I don't remember this episode, but I do remember the clothes though! Ha HA!!
What's also remarkable is that this album which touched on slavery was No. 11 on the POP Charts! Just phenomenal for the times back then! #longliveWalterWilliamandEddie
My favorite group of all time. The Mighty Might O'Jays!!!
Songs like this made you want to be in love
🎯🎯🎯 that's it!
This song is off the chain even in 2022 still #1.in my book.❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰
Walter Williams has my ♥
They truly belong at the big table of r&b soul music. Wish they had done a gospel album or two. Wow!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏
Incredible performance from great legends! Love the Ojays!! Eddie and Walter, amazing!!
At this time ROMANCING was top of the line!!
Yes Yes Yes!!!
Oh my goodness! I have been searching for this footage forever. Had only seen bits and pieces. Seeing the WHOLE version is simply wonderful!
They bodied that shit!!!
YES!!!!!!!!! I FELT IT!! THAT PERFORMANCE WAS LIKE NONE OTHER!! IVE WATCHED IT I KNOW 20 TIMES....FOR REAL
@@jesusislord3321 I sent it to ALL my soul music lovers.
I have seen many many concerts in my life time. But I have seen the Ojays at least 5 times. True gentlemen... Voices: Perfection...Always delivered with energy. The slow love tunes made you want to be a better lover. No joke.
Such a classy group !! Never heard anything bad about them
..just scary vocals from these bruthas....like fire, shot up in my veins. Im watching this and fighting back tears..because their music are the songs of my youth. I was about 5 yrs old when this sing dropped. My Mom is a HUGE fan of the O'Jays...so was my stepdad. So I heard them everyday. Ill just say this...when you hear the voices of Walter and Eddie, wrapping around each other, you hear the voice of God...the gut wrenching baritone of Eddie, overlapping Walters's tenor, has brought tears to my eyes, too many times to count...especially on this cut. RIP, to Mr Powell, who was the glue of the group in their early yrs.
I was looking forward to Eddie singing this song, in concert, but he didn't.
So I had to sing this song, while leaving the concert.
His eyes is closed and Eddie Levert is all into this song. I like it too...❤❤❤
MERCY, Mercy!!!! Thank you for sharing my favorite song performed Live!
WOW! How fantastic is this performance! Outstanding! This is right up there with Labelle who always sung live and mashed up the Soul Train studios with their vocal agility!
The G.O.A.Ts are the O'Jays. Eddie and Walter are Legends and their music will live on forever. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is REAL MUSIC
Sammie Strain Voice Was As Powerful 😎
LC From Chicago 😎
Genuine as it is delivered
I love the o'jays music. I am 63 and have been the number fan since I was 12 or 11.
I am 63 and have been the o'jays number one fan since I was a child of 12
After this God comes!
They don't sing like this anymore 2024....Happy new year
The Mighty Mighty O'Jays
EVERYTHING IS GOLD PLATNIUM..YOU ARE BLESSED TO GIVE THE WORLD LOVE MESSAGES IN YOUR MUSIC..I KNOW IN MY HEART WHAT YOU WENT THREW BEING YOUNG..I BEEN THREW THAT ..JUST TRAPPED HANDS TIED THEN THE KIDS STARTED TO COME AND I COULDNT LEAVE..HOOKED JUST LIKE A FISH ON A HOOK...MS JUDY .
There have been several GREAT, truly GREAT SINGERS of R&B. However, NO ONE did it like Eddie. NO ONE. The raw power he had was up there with Teddy. Simply incredible
👍👏👍👏👍👏
👍👏👍👏👍👏
When music was music! One of my all-time favorites.... Just an all around classic performance! Thank u O'Jays
That church sound of the OJS squad.
I grew up in the 70s. I miss the music, especially all of the different genres. I listed to everything from R&B, the Blues, Easy Listening, Hard and Alt Rock. The O'Jays were/are a class act.
I have had the playoffs seeing the Ojays live.
The true RB soulmusic... Classic 😂
70’s Philly Soul
ONE BAD ASS GROUP!!!!!!!! LIVE YOUNG FOLKS!!!!!!!!
How could anyone know at the time what gold these Soul Train videos would become?
I wish this live version was on CD cause they killed it I can't get enough of this performance 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤❤❤
There weren't many of their songs that I didn't like, perhaps this is the one I liked the most. It had body and soul and really express the essence of haw a man in love feels, a man who does not have a problem expressing himself.
They always performed live on soul train.
Saw the Jay's quite a few times all over the country back in my days.
Man...this was amplified on the father and son album❤✊🏿
I am, and have always been, in love with Eddie Lavert.😍❤🧡💗💞💟💜❤💯❤💓
I hear you. I too thought it was Eddie Levert but it wasn't until I was older and realized I was in love with that ideal man they created so beautifully in their songs.
@@sbella6719 LOL🥰🙂
When Walter blasted through with the " l be going around" and his deep register vamps, l was over with.
