An incredibly high quality live performance. No pitch correctors or backing tracks fed into their earpieces; this is the real deal. Almost no group can reach this standard today live. Philadelphia International Records which was Gamble & Huff produced a staggering number of hits. There is a Nederlands TV documentary on them, that is amazing. Few Americans know how great Gamble & Huff were, and how many groups they wrote songs and produced for, O'Jays probably being their best and most successful.

There will never be another Eddie Levert or shall I say Ojay's.. They never rushed their lyrics and maybe because they were complete songs. They teach you how to love women the right way. The group never broke up. The tides that bind. Real music and thank God for the late Don Cornelius.. Love you always Don. Soul Train was a hope for for Soul music and R&B even in 2021..

Not many performers did it live on soul train. The O’Jays been doing it since day one and they never fail to give a good show. Here it is 2021 & they Still sound good. They were here in Chicago 2019 at Grant park, Walter was not with them he was sick. Eric & Eddie still put on a great performance. I❤️The O’JAYS!

I truly believe that, the greatest group of all times are the Temptations. Just so classy, and on point with their harmonies. But that being said,if you need that funky r&b sound, well the O'jays are it. I always said,if I won the lottery,I would pay these talented people to perform all gospel music for me. In no certain order...the Temptations,O'jays, Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Jennifer Hudson,Johnny Taylor, the Spinners, and Luther Vandross. A ten hour show, because I can afford to.🤣🤣🤣

Slowing down and transitioning at 3:24 and on was really smooth. When Eddie moved back from the microphone, creating fade while singing is pure genius. You can hear the purity of the groups voice and pieces of instruments that united perfectly with their voices. Like adding cheese to a burger. Beautiful

Back in these days it did matter what you looked like in terms of dress and presentation. Singers, groups and bands always strived to look their best! Back then everyone knew you were an entertainer because you looked the part. Jeans sneakers and baseball caps were nowhere to be found.

Remember buying the ship ahoy album when it came out all the tracks were fire on that LP. they started putting out smash albums like a factory after that. All the way through the disco and Punk era just kept putting out quality music and performances without missing a beat. Hall of fame was well deserved for them dudes
