I love my 84 f-250 6.9 idi, I use it to tow the south Texas snowbirds fifth wheel & goose neck trailers from trailer park to trailer park since they neglected to buy a capable truck but it seems that Ford accidentally left an irrigation pump in the engine bay though she does run smooth as butter on waste combustible liquids so a money maker that runs for free and hardly any blow by for 426k
Had an 84 At the truck shop and we Put 7.3 injectors and pump in the replacement 6.9 we built for it in the early 90’s. It had an automatic transmission. The old girl ran good.
Only thing I'd do to it is maybe slap a turbo on it to wake it up, since 6.9s are notoriously underpowered. other than that, leave it stock. this thing is one hell of a survivor. Also, be prepared for old men to come out of the woodwork everywhere you go and complement your truck/tell stories of trucks they used to have.
I agree on the turbo part. A tad more power (plus the turbo noises) would be lovely! Lol very true, every other time I fill up I get someone complementing it or talking about how you don’t see them around.
It's a trip that any vehicle, especially a manual, came without a tach. Was the logic " if people are red lining their truck 24/7 they'll be in the service center more often". lol. Awesome truck regardless.
@@drowzynate722it makes plenty of sense. I can hear rpm without a tach man. Learn the truck, i had a manual with a tach and i didnt stare at the tach to know when to shift.
What did you pay for this one. I just got an 88 f350 quad cab for 5k. I think I may have over paid a tiny bit, but it was so clean, and had all the gaskets done. It did just blow something on the top/rear if the motor, and got oil in the air filter and leaked the rest out!
I own a 1986 f250 lariat 4x4 6.9idi c6. Mine is exteneded cab. I drive it everyday. Im a heavy diesel mechanic. Ive owned it along time. If you run into any problems let me know ill do my best to help you keep it running good. Check out r&d diesel parts
@@drowzynate722 word of advice if it's a daily driver and your not pulling heavy loads find a 4x4 single wheel instead of a dually. I own both and the single wheel pulls just as much
Id leave that interior alone. Looks too good yet to throw away.
I agree.. it’ll be one of the last things I do if I ever get to it.
just flew out, bought one of these, and drove it across country home. really got to know the truck lol. sick truck dude
Congrats and thanks!

It's in AMAZING shape - - just clean it up and make it nice, leave the interior gray
Welcome to the idi family man! Truck looks great. It's in really good shape, a lot better than my '84. Hope the truck serves ya well!
That's a real rancher truck right there 👍

I got my f250 1985 5 years ago and I fixed it little by little. The best truck never ever.
Love my 88 7.3, the 4 speed is bullet proof but a ZF5 is the way to go. Wish my super duty looked and ran this nice
Congratulations, I do have f350 dually/86, I love it !!!

Love it! I have one and they are great trucks.
Awesome Truck! I have an 87 ! And Love it !!!!!!

Had a 96 Ranger that was the same way, manual without a tach.. doesn’t make any sense 😂
It’s a diesel. You know when to shift by sound

I don’t want it for shifting, I want it to know cruising RPMs.
old idis are designed and content at running on the governor forever lol
Things mint. Mines on its second cab and front clip, ready for it's third already 😂
Yikes! 😬
Where I'm from that truck is mint
oh dang nice. Id daily that. I daily a bricknose and have 97 aeronose im keeping as OE as possible
I recommend the JC customs cupholder. goes on the shifter boot and is awesome.
That truck is awesome 😎
Lol lol no oil pressure on the gadge like mine lol. Wiggle the wire intake area fire wall area. 😮
Id love to find one that clean
Beautiful Truck. But, they can't pull themselves out of a wet paper bag🤙
Lol definitely a slug.
They are, but they will run for a long time. Hell of a truck. Enjoy it! 🤙
Interior is pretty nice I’d clean it all up and rock it for sometime while collecting new parts
I would keep the grey interior

I had an 93 f250 I sold for 10k, loved that truck! Buying another one this week.
$5k is a fairly cheap based on my local market.
Schön
What is that hose going over the engine and into that black canister on the passenger side? My IDI does not have that, is it an AC thing?
Yes it’s for AC
How much can these trucks tow?
Just under 10k is what they’re rated at but I’m sure it won’t be very fast lol
Yo what tires are on the vehicle. Size as well
Discontinued Firestone tire.. 215/70R16 I believe.
Do you still do 13-14 Gt500 6r80 swap?
I can but it’s pretty expensive, especially if someone doesn’t want any lights on the dash.
Boring is the term
Vendemela...
$10k it’s gone.
sell it to me
Just sold it last week.

Appreciate it boss.. sold the truck a little while back.. probably get another but a dually and 4x4 next time.

After 5/6 months he hasn’t done anything with the truck 😭
Sold it. Got an offer I couldn’t refuse.
@@drowzynate722 damn if you don’t mind me asking ….. what offer was it ?!??
