Hi Brandon...They're singing different capoeira popular songs one after the other. I give you a few names: Paranaué, Abaloú Capoeira Abaloú, Jogo de dentro jogo de fora, Folha Seca....This are traditional songs that are used in the rodas("games of capoeira")around the world. Greetings, from Argentina. Axé Soledad
Hi Brandon. As you say, I practice capoeira. I've started this year, so I'm not an expert, but I'm trying to improve. Excellent video...! It's an amazing roda. Axé Sole
@Mastabiff Yeah but when you get so much energy going how can you resist not jumping in as quick as you can, lol. I know what you mean, I always like to give players a good couple of exchanges before I buy in, but sometimes I just can't help myself.
@Mastabiff At events like this, I'm used to seeing a Professor(a) or higher on each side of the bateria telling us when to go. No confustion, nobody dies.
to those saying that this roda has no flow or that everyone is showing off and buying too fast.. this is obviously a high cord, batizado roda.. it is a time to do your best movements. these are games for the crowd sitting just off camera, im sure they dont want to see people getting taken down and kicked in the face.. when their kids are probably getting their first cords shortly there after. the games should be short and quick....if the fire is getting to hot, stay out of the damn kitchen..
I do not practice the art. I've only fought against it very few times(lost more than I won). However, I have great respect for the art. That said, like any martial arts displace, as long as the participants & audiance are enjoying themselves and no one gets badly hurt, it's a good show. I guess it's my limited experience with the style, but only saw 1 flaw in the whole thing(around 1 min, 43 sec). Anyway. I enjoyed watching this and that's good enough for me.
where is this and which group please?....interesting... Oh and....what's with all the aggression and swearing people.....don't we all have a lot to learn...no matter what level we are..? Axe xx
There is plenty of interaction in these games. They aren't just floreios. There is plenty of in and out, marked takedowns, and conversation. I would expect any capoeirista with 12 years of experience to be able to recognize that. Your prejudice inhibits your growth.
With all respect to minch333 below I agree, I find myself more and more watching angola videos just to get away from the "trickz" and see more conversation, more game.
well to tell you the truth, if you watch a little bit closer you'll see that there are far more kicks than acrobatics...they are trying to outsmart the opponent, not beat the shit out of each other... =D
Man it wasn't a major attack, pretty tame against some of the comments on here. I'm just saying its not really my style of game. Most of the kicks are so out of range that the other person doesn't even attempt to esquiva. I see this kind of hyper-buying and estilo at my group's events and I didn't like it then either, so no offense to your group or those present buddy.
theres no flow to it.. a guy enters the roda does a flip then leaves thats not capoeira.. anyways you dont have to be contra-mestre to do flips.. the intricate stuff is a lot more technically demanding than that pissh. that being said.. they are good at flips
Orelha!! essa voz é inconfundivel..Axé meu camará...Axé capoeiras.

Awesome capoeira skills. Wish I could do all that. I'd much rather do capoeira cause your constantly moving with the moves and the ginga. Just awesome

Not sure if I agree with everything you said - come look at my channel esp the politics playlist!
I hope this comes to the Olympics, but I don't think it will because it's too Black and not Eurocentric enough. Peace.

wat da hell!
a capoeira tem movimentos dificeis, legais e tal, mas sei la... nao parece servir muito bem pra uma luta mesmo :/

that being said.. they are good at flips
capoeira has got to be one of the most stupid fighting technique or dance step rhytmes I've ever seen.
You don't get it you are right about the control demonstrated in the game but in a fight it is much more different.
