Der German-Boogie-Woogie-Award PINETOP wurde 2009 als erster Musikpreis für Boogie Woogie in Deutschland von Thomas Aufermann, Uwe Esselmann, Andreas Merk, Jo Schumacher und Viona Schumacher ins Leben gerufen. Die Gründungsmitglieder bilden die Jury und verleihen den German-Boogie-Award PINETOP im Abstand von zwei Jahren. Der Award weiß sich wesentlich der Pflege des klassischen Piano-Boogie Woogie und Blues verpflichtet und wird in verschiedenen Kategorien verliehen.
