  • We remember the time when Sushant Singh Rajput talked to us about money, ambition, and why he thrived on insecurity.
Prior to becoming a Bollywood celebrity, Sushant Singh Rajput was an engineering student at Delhi Technological University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. While there, Sushant enrolled in Shiamak Davar's dance classes and soon found his calling in acting. He began his acting career in Television and later on moved to Bollywood. His most notable films are ‘Kai Po Che!’, ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ and ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’.

Algebra takes the idea of a club - a universe of the likeminded - and expands it to new paradigms. The key idea behind Algebra is to bring together a fellowship of people who believe great cities are built not just on infrastructure but a life of the mind; who understand robust and liberal societies need the oxygen of great conversation and nuanced thinking. At a time when we are increasingly surrounded by rage and noise, Algebra is that unique live and continuous space where people could go for a genuine exchange of ideas and exposure to issues; where new seeds could be sparked, fresh perspectives formed, and intelligent connections made.
Algebra - the Arts and Ideas Club is designed to host over 60 conversations over the year with topline thinkers and practitioners from almost every discipline that impacts human affairs: politics, economy, environment, spirituality, cinema, medicine, science, technology, music, media, literature, the arts, sports, people’s movements, et al. In a line, Algebra is a space where one can meet an exciting, cutting-edge spectrum of people shaping the world in different ways. Where one can test one’s ideas, challenge one’s perspectives, and build friendships. A sort of fellowship of the curious and engaged.
Membership to Algebra is by invitation or referral. If you know an Algebra member, ask them to put you in touch with us. For more, click HERE:

Gone too soon . You could have done so much more for the world if you had chosen life over death. Heart breaking 😞 😢. Being a parent , watching the news , it feels like sitting on a seat of thorns not knowing what could be going on in one’s own children’s lives ; and what’s on their minds ? Let me tell us all. Life is so beautiful that , it’s worth living ; taking the sorrows of the entire world upon yourself, sweating it all out , only to return to a humble thatched home ; just for a bowl of thin watery dal and a couple dry chapati with your family at your side at the end of the day . That’s life . Face the devil. Choose your life. Happy🌏👍

he might have high IQ but low emotional intelligence. don't want to judge but I can see he was in the wrong field. He was talking about how he was in top 1% in Engineering and so wanted to be in top 1% in acting or BW. there is nothing wrong about it but you can not compare these 2 in anyway. art is relative and not dependent on exams and marks. he had high expectations about himself based on his academic background. he was hardworking and talented actor and also achieved lot of success but he seems to be constantly weighing & judging himself against others like people do in academics. top 1% of what?? as bollywood stars? or as actors like Manoj Bajapeyee, Irfan Khan, Nawaz? I do not remember any actor or film makers talking about top 1% and all that ever. He wanted excitement and different highs and all but at the same time wanted concrete results though he was talking about being ok meaning trying convince himself about. why any film maker will care about his intelligence in physics? similarly why anyone in physics world will care about someone's acting skills as a researcher?
I might be completely wrong but I feel for him, he was so young and whole life was in front him. He needed strong emotional anchor (mother or may be wife) in life.

I completely agree with what you said.. he wanted high in everything he did. When he didnt get what he expected he got upset. A good girl friend/wife with his side might have helped.

One could see the streaks of eccentricities in his demeanour. He gets excited easily and so will get depressed. Intelligent people are in general more prone for depressive disorders. I am not surprised by his suicide.

This is so true. You can see his passion for science or physics in general and in many interviews he has talked about it openly. Reaching at the tip of his career point he must have realised that there is only this much to acting or have felt the lack of satisfaction. Whereas, there would have been so much more in the field of science he could have done of. In his last Instagram post he clearly states that the old dreams are putting a carve of smile on his face but life is fleeting and he is constantly negotiating between them. It’s a clear case of wrong career choice and thus leading to depression and suicide!

@M. Anahita Chawla poison in low amount is good for one's health, please learn the phenomenon of hormesis and relate it with excess of passion. Cheers.

@M. Anahita Chawla He slept for 2hrs while the remaining time he spends reading books on physics in the night. Not only that, he even brings along with him books on quantum physics on the sets. Loves wearing t-shirts on NASA & ISRO. Talks about his love for science in general in all his social media posts which is so evident. Shares with his co-stars about the telescope he has at his home which he uses to gaze at stars and no such Bollywood gossiping. He has his own company 'Innsaei Ventures' which works on emerging technologies like AI & Machine learning. And as we all know he had secured an all India rank of 7th in the entrance examination for Delhi college of engineering and also passed 11 such exams. He had dreams of visiting to CERN & attending NASA workshops and doing various other experiments. So, his mind was all absorbed by science throughout the day. You see "Passion" can be a blessing or a curse only if you have recognised and nourished it timely.

@M. Anahita Chawla And also the recent news are showing as to how the industry had not acknowledged him for his talent, which just made him more depressed and he clearly was trying to negotiate with what he was doing ie. between his acting and his love for science but you see for him his life was fleeting and he finally came to a decision of taking his own life. Which is so sad!, he shouldn't have dared to think of taking such action.

All that I can say is, he made a fool out of himself.
We teach children how to follow goals but we don't teach them how to handle it once you achieve it. He is just one such story!
