- After almost a year of using this tent I figured I would post a follow up to just review how it has held up for me. All in all I am very happy with it and have had no major issues. When the time comes to replace this tent I will very likely buy the same one again because of how well it has functioned. I really only use it when I am taking a group, or my kids, out so it is not my primary tent for regular outings but it does get used somewhat regularly.
For the price I think its a great tent for groups and events.
Thanks for posting. I haven't been able to find a decent review online.
Glad to see ya back on the ol UA-cam 😀 That thing looks huge. For $130, that sounds like a steal!
Thank you for mentioning the winds! I am taking a trip to Edwards, Ca and it will get very windy
My pleasure
Sand bags in front of the door can play as a dam but can also weigh down the door. Just an idea. Maybe even wall trim about 6" high set up as a frame to keep water out. Just ideas. Cause I'm buying this tent on Friday. Thank youv forthe video my friend.
thanks man - just picked one up for 110 - seems like some velcro on the door and you're in business - will probably be mostly for my teenagers
That's a cool idea. Export the teenagers to live in the tent till they settle down. :P
Thank you for this. There's ironically very little reviews on this particular tent. And that's surprising because its sold cheaply. Which with the size seems wonderful.
I'm hoping to know if it can hold up to long term use, on longer trips? Like do you have an estimate how long you think it would last if used for like 2 week trips seveeral times a year? And if the fabric will hold up under sun wear(?)
I like the cone shaped design tents more than the small dome tents.
I have a very similar teepee tent which I personally love. My only question is Have you resolved or discovered any method of keeping the rain out of door without having to fully zip up the doors. (My doors are D Doors so I can fully zip). I'm looking for some form of awning over the door. So that you can open the door in light rain...
No, unfortunately when its raining the doors have to stay closed. An awning would be nice but I have not figured out a way to make that work.
Probably you could sew in a piece of a tarp in a curved up lip. But people may trip over that. And you could probably put some sealant or oil in it to help repel water.
Great Video! I was wondering what you opinion would be of using this tent in sub-zero temperatures.... I would install a stove pipe jack and a wood stove....but those windows worry me. Are they clear plastic
Sorry for such a delayed response! Yes they are clear plastic. Regarding cold temps ... I am not sold that a stove jack would do well just because I am not sure how well it would hold up to the heat or embers! I did finally have a failure and took on a lot of water after several very strong storms and significant material stretch. I am going to cut the floor out and extend the upright to tighten things up and give me the option for a small fire inside. I do still think it is a great tent for the price but it does have limitations.
Thanks for the reply! I went with the Luxe Gear Megahorn Tipi and am very impressed with its capabilities.
@@rickschubrink2619 good deal, I may be looking at something new so would be interested in your thoughts on that one!
I just set it up in the back yard but I'll give you a rundown when I actually use it...so far I'm very impressed withe the level of quality/ price ratio. I'm going to be starting a channel on here soon and I'll let you know when I do.
