I quit a job I really liked because a new assistant manager was hired who seemed determined to make my life hell. Idk why. All my other managers were lovely and we got on so well. After a particularly grueling shift where he seemed determined to make my cry, I called the big boss and quit on the spot. He begged me to stay and implored he would do just about anything to keep me on. "Fire Steve". Needless to say, Steve was not fired, but a few months later he was being investigated for stealing tips and making people work off the clock. Should have fired Steve.
I love my job and my boss. I am a full-time assistant manager but the company has cut hours to recoup money. We are open 7 days for the entire month of March (& a part timer was hired in making more than me). Both of us (boss & I) are both about to quit.

I married a man child, who I supported for decades. Fast forward 15 years after the divorce, he still has not paid child support. Even though I make a very good living on my own, and supported everyone of my child's needs and wants, I go through the Attorney General, to get his support taken from Ex's paycheck. I get a notification each time I get a support payment... I always feel deliciously petty every time I hear that ding, and read $$ notification!

My best petty story is when I was in high school, a friend of mine decided to date the guy I had a huge crush on just because she was jealous of the attention he was giving me. Their relationship didn’t last but she really did her best to put me down (kissed him in front of me, asked for my opinion AFTERWARDS). Anyway, I soon realized she was not a friend / not a good person but wanted to make sure she would get the treatment she deserved. As I distanced myself from her, she started being annoyed with me for not showing emotions. I refused to give her the satisfaction of crying or arguing. They split. Eventually she was so mad at the situation, she couldn’t help telling people mean things about me. I thought it would be smarter not to react… after a while all the students in my class and other classes came to me to tell me how unfair this whole story was, how unbelievable it was that she would hate me and say mean things after what she had done. She ended up with almost no friends and people came daily to tell me how sorry they were for me. Also, I’ve been dating this guy for 19 years. We are married now. Living our best lives.

Only after a week he understood she didn’t actually care and said they should split. Just pure manipulation. I forgot a lot to this story since it was super long ago, but she really tried to make my life hell and I’m glad she got what she deserved. By the way, fun fact : she tried to add my husband on social media a few years ago to « catch up ». Needless to say he ignored her. This person is a joke 🤣

I was the assistant to the Director of Education in a performing arts school at a local regional theater. I basically did her job but there were no repercussions because her rich parents donated her salary every year. Eventually everyone in the organization knew that I was doing all the work and she was doing nothing. When she realized that everyone knew, she decided to demote me to the Box Office. I was like 'hell no!' and told her I was leaving. Part of my job was sitting in the front office and making sure everyone got to class or signed up or whatever the parents needed to do. I was the ONLY person in the office. I said "Oh, yeah, parents are coming to sign up for next semester", went to the office, took my things and left. I heard it was chaos because she had to cover for me and didn't know where anything was or how to do anything. The parents, who all loved me, were very upset that I was gone. They had to hire THREE people to take my place. The school slowly failed after that. Which made me sad because it was a great program and I loved that job.
Oh, girl. I took a trip back to Canada from the US to celebrate New Years with a guy I was dating. He was so horrible to me and my friends, that after we got back I called his probation officer, and informed him, that he had not only left the state, that he had left the country and had him tossed back into jail for 30 days, for violating probation. DIDN'T FEEL AT ALL GUILTY!!!!
Story time: So I worked for Starbucks for six years, and for the first three I worked in a mall Starbucks. One time in like January of 2020, before everything shut down, my manager had to stay late because someone called out and we needed the coverage. So she’s working bar, and I’m on register, and this customer comes in and orders a caramel Frappuccino, with extra caramel drizzle. But she’s very specific on how she wants it. So I tell my manager exactly what she said when I give the cup to her, just because I know high maintenance customers when I see them. Now my manager had been with the company for over 15 years at this point, so she knows how to do her job, but both of us liked to make sure we were extra careful on these types of orders. As she’s making it, the customer proceeds to walk her through the entire process, like my manager doesn’t know how to make the drink. Then my other coworker comes outside and this customer is so excited to see him. At that point he’d been with the company almost 10 years, and he was very memorable in our store, mostly because he was usually the only guy working there. The customer starts talking about how long he’s worked there and how he’s an expert at his job, and so on. Now don’t get me wrong, he was really good at his job, it’s just that it was fairly obvious that the customer wanted him to make her drink simply because she thought he was the best. Well my manager finishes making the drink, customer takes the drink, leaves the store, then comes back in and is like, “no this doesn’t taste right, I want my money back.” I asked if she wanted us to make her a new one, and she just kept on insisting no. As I was refunding her she mumbled something about new people making drinks, and I just held my tongue. As she’s walking out of the store, my manager goes, “thanks have a great day!,” in the cheeriest voice. I then hear the customer say, “can I talk to your manager?, once she’s outside, but she didn’t come back in. My manager felt a little bad about what she said as the customer was leaving, but then laughed when I said the customer thought she was new. She went around saying, “hi I’m name, I just started,” to everyone we worked with.
As an ex-Starbucks employee, the women who want the only dude working there to make their drink make me so f-ing angry. I've had women "accidentally" drop their drink just so the male barista would re-make it for them. Gross!

He was our manager's son In law, I got so sick of his repeated asking me to have an affair with him that I said I would if his wife approved. I was stunned and quit on site when I came in to work and was called into the manager's office because of my suggestion to him. I told her I never thought he would be stupid enough to ask her.
short success story: my last boss used me as a scapeoat and fabricated some unflattering things about me in a place that I had gone above and beyond for. one short phone call and a long meeting with HR later and I got transferred to a new location with a slight pay raise and nowhere near the amount of 'manditory ot'. it's the same job, but it's even a less stressful workload and environment
Story time: I quit my job a couple of months ago. I worked in a Tesco for 6 years. I was actually good at my job and I did not mind it. But I needed the hours and they weren't giving it them, even after hiring so many new staff. I've always expressed my goals to my boss and store manager that I wanted to become a shift leader. Well, they made someone else shift leader and she made my working days crap. She would yell at me for nothing. After my big operation (I made my boss aware I needed hot drink and meds), they made a mistake during it and now I have gut problems...wooo. I needed hot drinks to dull the pain. I had a hot chocolate on shift with me. She yelled at me for that and says the customers will see it. I hid it under the till... I told her that if I don't have it, I have very bad pain in my gut and when I have a tiny bit left, I use it to take my powder meds. I told her she was welcome to taste it if she doesn't believe me but I know she'll be stuck on the loo if she does. (She never did but the thought of it made me chuckle.) Her sister had a hot drink on shift many times and she didn't yell at her for that which I found quite annoying. So I handed in my letter. Store manager boss pulls me into his office and tried to get me to stay. I said no. He tried to offer me a longer hours per week shift. I said no. I told him flat out that I wanted to step up. I kid you not... he said, I didn't want you to be stressed. Then proceed to wave his hand in front of his chest... (I have a heart condition). I asked him, will I ever be a shift leader? He said no, I will never make you one. So I stood up and said bye. Now I work for NHS and I am happy.
Good on you ! And props to the store manager for being honest with you even though he was trying to keep you. He gave you the freedom you needed to go to better places.
The other day, my boyfriend yelled at me. The next day I needed something from the store, and because he felt bad, he offered to go get it for me. And I knew which store had it but he didn't. So I sent him to three different stores before sending him to the right one. "Oh, they must be out of stock!" 😂😂😂 EDIT: he yelled at me because his sugar was low. He's diabetic, and we're working on getting it under control, but sometimes it dips, and instead of checking it, he gets hangry. My previous supervisor was a macho kind of guy. Everytime he and one of us women arrived at a doorway, going in opposite directions, he would always just charge thru. One day after several of these interactions, I was standing at the sink washing lunch dishes when he walked past. I flicked my sopping wet hand at him and quickly turned back to the dishes. I could see him in my peripheral looking around like "what the hell was that?" I had to keep a straight face til he rounded the corner, then I nearly peed myself laughing! Great day at work

Years ago, my (then) best friend betrayed me at the most vulnerable time in my life. Months before this betrayal, she had chosen to unload her confession of an affair to me. I found an email through a social media account, was able to sign in because of her secret question, change her password, AND had the identity of her lover. I never told her what I knew, or him either. When she couldn't communicate with him anymore with that account, I doubt she thought of me, but I know all the truths.

I worked at a gas station 1 time. I trained in a store out of town, then opened the store in my town. I trained our boss. I knew every position in the kitchen, learned the register, and stocked the entire store. I knew how to do everything, basically. Someone complained about me a couple times because they didn't like me. They tried to say I didn't know what I was doing. ..? They literally could not complete their pizza orders in a reasonable time unless I was making them. I just quit because I didn't need to work at that time. It went downhill in quality pretty quickly, and we hadn't been open for very long. Don't mistreat your hardest working employees. Also, when you have a hard working employee who is constantly being dragged by coworkers, pay very close attention to what's really going on. There's a strong chance the coworkers are the problem because that employee is making them look bad by actually doing their job properly.
I think he said Excedrin, which is a painkiller but he said he wouldn’t take it himself bc it was unlabeled. He just made her freak out so she would leave him alone.

My ex and I moved into his parents house when we moved to PA with them. I was the only one in the house that had a job and paid for everything. Also with my job we had free cable and internet. Free because I paid for it. So when he cheated and broke up with me I got myself a new apartment of my own, day I moved out nobody was in the house I took all cable boxes and the modem as it was mine and I work for the cable company, so they had no cable or internet and they had to call and get their own and pay for it themselves. I also took the ps4 he used to play video games and watch Netflix because I bought it lol. I also canceled Hulu and changed my Netflix password and I also took the car as it was in my name. 😂😂
I'm so sorry you're experiencing depression 😢 I've been there, too. Depression means "to press down". I realized I was pushing down feelings from childhood trauma and my marriage to a covert narcissist. Letting myself feel all that $hit has helped my depression & anxiety. Depression is such an abyss and hard to crawl out of, but it can be done! I'm glad you found Charlotte, she's a bright spot in my day too. I also have chronic depression, and poverty doesn't help. I was seeing a psychiatrist 4 times a year at the county clinic, but she retired and they only have one now. That doctor doesn't treat patients over age 60, so I can't get my antidepressant refilled. I asked them, "So, are patients over 60 just supposed to hurry up and die?" The nurse (who can refill meds, but refused mine) hung up on me. I use kratom tea and Ashwagandha, which has helped my mood some but I was better on my antidepressant. Good luck, darlin' and know there are some of us in your corner who understand that you're suffering. One cannot just will themselves out of depression. Take care!

You wanna be careful lol I once faked a chest infection to get out of school, I did everything. The fake vomit, the rattly chest the whistling noise in my lungs. My dad took me to see my dr......I had an actual chest infection and that's how we found out I'm allergic to penicillin 😄🤦🏼♀️ spent 3 weeks in hospital with a chest infection and severe allergic reaction and caught both chicken pox and gastroenteritis in hospital and nearly died from the chicken pox FOR THE SECOND TIME IN MY LIFE all because I wanted to skip p.e 😄 Yes, twice chicken pox has nearly killed me lol and I still havent had a full blown case if chicken pox at 32 lol being immunocompromised sucks

Back in 2010 when Netflix had the disc that we ordered. Well, my sister and I were fighting. Like bad (mom died and we were all going through our guilt phase) well, I had the password to her Netflix save on my computer and so I went in there and re-arranged all her movies she had in order to be shipped. Well, we didn’t talk for a bout a year. And I asked her if she ever had issues with her Netflix. And she’s like you little B. I knew I was you just couldn’t figure out how. I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself.

Being the youngest in a big family and always at the receiving end of my siblings bullying, pranks etc, I had to be creative to get my revenge on them. For example, when my older sister was going on a date and she was in the shower, I sneaked into her room and smudged mascara the outfit she had selected and on several others that time permitted.

The rotting meat one was probably deserved, but I would not suggest doing this. He could have pressed charges and had her arrested for, at the very least, criminal mischief. He has a right to sue her for the costs of the meat, the clean-up, and probably a new freezer. Sure, his cheating was bad, but it wasn't a criminal act. Her revenge is, and could really screw up her life should he press charges.
Also looks like most states allow a person to sue for punitive damages in cases of malicious destruction of property, and if the damage is a cost of more than $400, it's a felony with up to a year in jail and/or up to $10,000 fine. Find a sneakier, LEGAL way to get revenge or it could wreck your life!

I quit a job I really liked because a new assistant manager was hired who seemed determined to make my life hell. Idk why. All my other managers were lovely and we got on so well. After a particularly grueling shift where he seemed determined to make my cry, I called the big boss and quit on the spot. He begged me to stay and implored he would do just about anything to keep me on.
"Fire Steve". Needless to say, Steve was not fired, but a few months later he was being investigated for stealing tips and making people work off the clock.

I love my job and my boss. I am a full-time assistant manager but the company has cut hours to recoup money. We are open 7 days for the entire month of March (& a part timer was hired in making more than me). Both of us (boss & I) are both about to quit.

I married a man child, who I supported for decades. Fast forward 15 years after the divorce, he still has not paid child support. Even though I make a very good living on my own, and supported everyone of my child's needs and wants, I go through the Attorney General, to get his support taken from Ex's paycheck. I get a notification each time I get a support payment... I always feel deliciously petty every time I hear that ding, and read $$ notification!
I don't get it. If men don't want kids why don't they just get a vasectomy? My ex got one and all he had to do was take Advil and ice his balls for 3 days, was back to work and the gym in one week!

My best petty story is when I was in high school, a friend of mine decided to date the guy I had a huge crush on just because she was jealous of the attention he was giving me.
Their relationship didn’t last but she really did her best to put me down (kissed him in front of me, asked for my opinion AFTERWARDS). Anyway, I soon realized she was not a friend / not a good person but wanted to make sure she would get the treatment she deserved.
As I distanced myself from her, she started being annoyed with me for not showing emotions. I refused to give her the satisfaction of crying or arguing. They split.
Eventually she was so mad at the situation, she couldn’t help telling people mean things about me. I thought it would be smarter not to react… after a while all the students in my class and other classes came to me to tell me how unfair this whole story was, how unbelievable it was that she would hate me and say mean things after what she had done. She ended up with almost no friends and people came daily to tell me how sorry they were for me.
Also, I’ve been dating this guy for 19 years. We are married now. Living our best lives.

I was the assistant to the Director of Education in a performing arts school at a local regional theater. I basically did her job but there were no repercussions because her rich parents donated her salary every year. Eventually everyone in the organization knew that I was doing all the work and she was doing nothing. When she realized that everyone knew, she decided to demote me to the Box Office. I was like 'hell no!' and told her I was leaving. Part of my job was sitting in the front office and making sure everyone got to class or signed up or whatever the parents needed to do. I was the ONLY person in the office. I said "Oh, yeah, parents are coming to sign up for next semester", went to the office, took my things and left. I heard it was chaos because she had to cover for me and didn't know where anything was or how to do anything. The parents, who all loved me, were very upset that I was gone.
They had to hire THREE people to take my place. The school slowly failed after that. Which made me sad because it was a great program and I loved that job.

He was so horrible to me and my friends, that after we got back I called his probation officer, and informed him, that he had not only left the state, that he had left the country and had him tossed back into jail for 30 days, for violating probation. DIDN'T FEEL AT ALL GUILTY!!!!

Story time: So I worked for Starbucks for six years, and for the first three I worked in a mall Starbucks. One time in like January of 2020, before everything shut down, my manager had to stay late because someone called out and we needed the coverage. So she’s working bar, and I’m on register, and this customer comes in and orders a caramel Frappuccino, with extra caramel drizzle. But she’s very specific on how she wants it. So I tell my manager exactly what she said when I give the cup to her, just because I know high maintenance customers when I see them. Now my manager had been with the company for over 15 years at this point, so she knows how to do her job, but both of us liked to make sure we were extra careful on these types of orders. As she’s making it, the customer proceeds to walk her through the entire process, like my manager doesn’t know how to make the drink. Then my other coworker comes outside and this customer is so excited to see him. At that point he’d been with the company almost 10 years, and he was very memorable in our store, mostly because he was usually the only guy working there. The customer starts talking about how long he’s worked there and how he’s an expert at his job, and so on. Now don’t get me wrong, he was really good at his job, it’s just that it was fairly obvious that the customer wanted him to make her drink simply because she thought he was the best. Well my manager finishes making the drink, customer takes the drink, leaves the store, then comes back in and is like, “no this doesn’t taste right, I want my money back.” I asked if she wanted us to make her a new one, and she just kept on insisting no. As I was refunding her she mumbled something about new people making drinks, and I just held my tongue. As she’s walking out of the store, my manager goes, “thanks have a great day!,” in the cheeriest voice. I then hear the customer say, “can I talk to your manager?, once she’s outside, but she didn’t come back in. My manager felt a little bad about what she said as the customer was leaving, but then laughed when I said the customer thought she was new. She went around saying, “hi I’m name, I just started,” to everyone we worked with.

We did talk about what would have happened if the customer came back in and asked to speak to the manager. Oh my gosh I had this coworker who kept trying to pick up on me. He was our manager's son In law, I got so sick of his repeated asking me to have an affair with him that I said I would if his wife approved. I was stunned and quit on site when I came in to work and was called into the manager's office because of my suggestion to him. I told her I never thought he would be stupid enough to ask her.
short success story: my last boss used me as a scapeoat and fabricated some unflattering things about me in a place that I had gone above and beyond for. one short phone call and a long meeting with HR later and I got transferred to a new location with a slight pay raise and nowhere near the amount of 'manditory ot'. it's the same job, but it's even a less stressful workload and environment
Story time: I quit my job a couple of months ago. I worked in a Tesco for 6 years. I was actually good at my job and I did not mind it. But I needed the hours and they weren't giving it them, even after hiring so many new staff. I've always expressed my goals to my boss and store manager that I wanted to become a shift leader. Well, they made someone else shift leader and she made my working days crap. She would yell at me for nothing. After my big operation (I made my boss aware I needed hot drink and meds), they made a mistake during it and now I have gut problems...wooo. I needed hot drinks to dull the pain. I had a hot chocolate on shift with me. She yelled at me for that and says the customers will see it. I hid it under the till... I told her that if I don't have it, I have very bad pain in my gut and when I have a tiny bit left, I use it to take my powder meds. I told her she was welcome to taste it if she doesn't believe me but I know she'll be stuck on the loo if she does. (She never did but the thought of it made me chuckle.) Her sister had a hot drink on shift many times and she didn't yell at her for that which I found quite annoying.
So I handed in my letter. Store manager boss pulls me into his office and tried to get me to stay. I said no. He tried to offer me a longer hours per week shift. I said no. I told him flat out that I wanted to step up. I kid you not... he said, I didn't want you to be stressed. Then proceed to wave his hand in front of his chest... (I have a heart condition). I asked him, will I ever be a shift leader? He said no, I will never make you one. So I stood up and said bye. Now I work for NHS and I am happy.

Years ago, my (then) best friend betrayed me at the most vulnerable time in my life. Months before this betrayal, she had chosen to unload her confession of an affair to me. I found an email through a social media account, was able to sign in because of her secret question, change her password, AND had the identity of her lover. I never told her what I knew, or him either. When she couldn't communicate with him anymore with that account, I doubt she thought of me, but I know all the truths.

I worked at a gas station 1 time. I trained in a store out of town, then opened the store in my town. I trained our boss. I knew every position in the kitchen, learned the register, and stocked the entire store. I knew how to do everything, basically. Someone complained about me a couple times because they didn't like me. They tried to say I didn't know what I was doing. ..? They literally could not complete their pizza orders in a reasonable time unless I was making them. I just quit because I didn't need to work at that time. It went downhill in quality pretty quickly, and we hadn't been open for very long. Don't mistreat your hardest working employees. Also, when you have a hard working employee who is constantly being dragged by coworkers, pay very close attention to what's really going on. There's a strong chance the coworkers are the problem because that employee is making them look bad by actually doing their job properly.
The last guy is just out here teaching valuable lessons. You never take unlabeled pills unless you absolutely know what they are. 😇

My ex and I moved into his parents house when we moved to PA with them. I was the only one in the house that had a job and paid for everything. Also with my job we had free cable and internet. Free because I paid for it. So when he cheated and broke up with me I got myself a new apartment of my own, day I moved out nobody was in the house I took all cable boxes and the modem as it was mine and I work for the cable company, so they had no cable or internet and they had to call and get their own and pay for it themselves. I also took the ps4 he used to play video games and watch Netflix because I bought it lol. I also canceled Hulu and changed my Netflix password and I also took the car as it was in my name. 😂😂

I'm glad you found Charlotte, she's a bright spot in my day too. I also have chronic depression, and poverty doesn't help. I was seeing a psychiatrist 4 times a year at the county clinic, but she retired and they only have one now. That doctor doesn't treat patients over age 60, so I can't get my antidepressant refilled.
I asked them, "So, are patients over 60 just supposed to hurry up and die?" The nurse (who can refill meds, but refused mine) hung up on me.
I use kratom tea and Ashwagandha, which has helped my mood some but I was better on my antidepressant.

My dad took me to see my dr......I had an actual chest infection and that's how we found out I'm allergic to penicillin 😄🤦🏼♀️ spent 3 weeks in hospital with a chest infection and severe allergic reaction and caught both chicken pox and gastroenteritis in hospital and nearly died from the chicken pox FOR THE SECOND TIME IN MY LIFE all because I wanted to skip p.e 😄

whenever you have a problem with a manager or supervisor, you should always go to their manager or at least to the HR dept and explain to them what your problem with your manager is. especially if they are mouthing off to other people about how they just don't like you, ESPECIALLY if you are a model employee.... IF you have a record of being a great employee, they will take you much more seriously if you make a complaint about your supervisor/manager... AND if there are other people that can back up your story about her/his bad behavior/talking shit... then that's just one more nail in their employment coffin...

Sadly, the real victim was the animals that got killed for meat to be wasted. She could have just donated all that meat to the local shelter and done something else to leave a mark.
Back in 2010 when Netflix had the disc that we ordered. Well, my sister and I were fighting. Like bad (mom died and we were all going through our guilt phase) well, I had the password to her Netflix save on my computer and so I went in there and re-arranged all her movies she had in order to be shipped. Well, we didn’t talk for a bout a year. And I asked her if she ever had issues with her Netflix. And she’s like you little B. I knew I was you just couldn’t figure out how. I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself.

Being the youngest in a big family and always at the receiving end of my siblings bullying, pranks etc, I had to be creative to get my revenge on them.
For example, when my older sister was going on a date and she was in the shower, I sneaked into her room and smudged mascara the outfit she had selected and on several others that time permitted.

The rotting meat one was probably deserved, but I would not suggest doing this. He could have pressed charges and had her arrested for, at the very least, criminal mischief. He has a right to sue her for the costs of the meat, the clean-up, and probably a new freezer. Sure, his cheating was bad, but it wasn't a criminal act. Her revenge is, and could really screw up her life should he press charges.
Also looks like most states allow a person to sue for punitive damages in cases of malicious destruction of property, and if the damage is a cost of more than $400, it's a felony with up to a year in jail and/or up to $10,000 fine.
Find a sneakier, LEGAL way to get revenge or it could wreck your life!
