Christopher, the serenity I feel is wonderful. Whenever I feel angry, upset, or frustrated, I listen to this theme song for therapeutic soothing of the heart.

This song brings back all the burst of young love and youth. It will always be a part of my life. I was 14 when I first heard it in the movie. Like all teenage boys, I had a huge crush on Sandra Dee. Now at 78, I relive all those wonderful memories and feelings. How great when a song can do this to you. 💙

Austrian born composer, Max Steiner captured the American spirit in the 1950s-60s, innocence, hope and confidence in the future. I was 7 in 1959 and am now 70 and this song is perhaps more meaningful now than then.

45 years ago, I was shown by my husband this song. He took us, me and Sofia Vergara to a DDR Restaurant in the area of Solingen, Nordrhein-Westfalen where this piece of art was played softly in the background. I instantly fell in love..

The song always reminds me of America in the 60’s, where people spend their time at the beach for relaxation, kids are running on the seaside, and some of them with ice cream or soda.
This song will forever have a special place in my heart...Back in 74-75 I was in the 5th grade, our music teacher Mrs Low would teach us kids as much classics of the past decades, or perhaps the songs that SHE loved, lol. Anyways, whenever she play on the piano ' A Summer Place' she would have me sing lead...At the time I thought 'no big deal I'll do the best I can '. I didn't think much of the song because as a kid you're busy trying to sing it correctly and not miss pronounce the words and such...But later on in life, I have such pride, and felt such honor that she thought my voice was worthy enough to sang lead for this, my all time favorite #1 instrumental ( lyric version too ) EVER.. Those were truly the best time of my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world...Thank you Mrs Low, wherever you are, for instilling the love of instrumentals, beautiful classics, to us kids...Bless your heart..

The theme from the movie "A Summer Place" was the 1st movie theme song to reach #1 on the Billboard Top 100 chart and also the first movie theme to sell more than a million copies.
This song was always the lead-in for the 1 O'Clock Movies which had the best monster, bite-'em up action movies I ever saw as a boy. So, hearing this again brought in a lot of great memories for me. Of course the actor's mouths never matched the English voice over track. Love it. Thank-you!

Beautiful arrangement, love the Percy Faith version as well only this has the beautiful woodwinds of flutes, oboes, clarinets included and there are women in this orchestra compared to Percy’s. Love both versions. In my 60’s now. Warms my heart ❤
