I don't even understand why Jasper kept texting her. He got what he wanted. He divorced Sienna and is now with his pregnant Emily. But yet, he's texting Sienna and letting her know what's going on in his life like she is supposed to care. As Sienna said, she signed the divorce papers. Now she can live her own life without worrying about reporting to someone or being disrespected by a scumbag liked Jasper.

It's a tactic commonly used by abusers. They can't stand the loss of control over their victim, so they try this as a means to control and hurt them.
It works only if the victim still has feelings or attachments to their abusers.
What jasper wanted was for her to stay still and not grow, move on, or be happy. He wanted her to stay alone and miserable knowing he is moving on and "happy" with his new family and for his "happiness" to cause her more pain.
Jasper’s father died in the line of duty! No one owes him anything and Jasper’s dad would have said the same thing. He is a troll and her parents and mother in law are terrible for overlooking it. He was blatantly abusive. They were all shameful. I hope she gets away from them.
Which makes me wonder why was Jasper even born if being abusive is all he knows.

Her parents are assholes for essentially controlling jasper and his mother's life after the death of his father and sending away jasper's first love so their daughter could be with them. Yes, Sienna's family has a moral obligation to Jasper's family but Sienna's family has done what it can to give back to Jasper's family. With everybody reminding Sienna's of that event in her life is enough punishment already as imagine the guilt she and her family have to face everyday of their life. But Jasper's dad is a police officer whose duty is to save people. that is his oath. He died in the line of duty which is unfortunate but from the time he took his oath as a police officer, his life was not his nor that of his family anymore. Also, what is wrong with Sienna's mother? As if she still wanted Sienna to get back with Jasper after all the hurt, humiliation and heartaches Jasper has gifted to her daughter. Well, it was good that Sienna's has woken and emerged from her slumber, and became decisive on what to do with her life. Jasper has missed out on his life; he could have had all the happiness in the world but he preferred to be a moron. Jasper is just like Emily, so they should have stayed together as they deserved each other..
