Ann Sothern was not, perhaps, in the first tier of stars, but she was unparalleled as a talent, both as a singer and an actress, and as a rather underrated great beauty, as hundreds of photos, esp. her photo sessions with the legendary George Hurrell.
First fell in love with Sothern from her Maisie movies and reruns of her old TV series. She was the best Rose in GYPSY I've seen to this day. And that includes Lansbury, Daly, Peters and LuPone. She had the audience standing and cheering MIDWAY during her phenomenal performance of ROSE'S TURN. She was also very sweet to me at the stage door. A great lady.
What didn't Ms. Sothern do! Thank you for sharing this memory. Don't know how Heaven works, but I hope she knows that the fruits of her lifelong labor are still being enjoyed today...Maisie marathon on TCM!

Wow, Ann Sothern and Robert Sterling, truly the definition of a handsome couple. I used to watch the tv show Topper as a kid and wish I could grow up to be as suave and urbane as Robert Sterling seemed to be....even portraying a ghost.

Tisha is such a beautiful woman. I am so glad that she is off the alcohol and drugs. I am currently half way through her autobiography, "Why I Failed Charm School." What a page-turner.
President Snow a great/heartbreaking read I got through it in a few days. Loved how honest she was about what she had went through didn’t blame anyone.
Tisha was in "Village of the Giants". One of my favorite movies of all time! As well, she was in one of the best Get Smart episodes of all, where she played Tisha Heinschmidt AKA Miss USA in the episode titled "The Girls from KAOS"! She was drop dead gorgeous!

Neither of them alluded to Miss Sterling's minor daughter Heidi from her early marriage whom Miss Sothern helped care for. With both her mother and grandmother facing those serious challenges, I wonder how SHE fared during that time!
Tisha was in a bad place at that time as they seemed to have been trying to keep things rather light. Heidi lives near her mother in Idaho, and they are close now, but it took a long time to get to that place. Tisha was very open about her years of substance abuse issues in her book that lasted into the early 90s, along with the damage that it did to her relationship with her daughter and mother.
Hugh Downs always appeared to be one of the nicest people on television , and always so smart and sensitive ! Ann Sothern was great !
