I remember when he did a song and sampled shout by tears for fears one of the hottest lyricists EVER I remember the line FORGET OREOS EAT MIKEY D CEREAL that was classic and he still looks amazing
Back in the day we would see Mikey D and he would always say its his birthday and could we buy a 40. This was way back. This a true Jamaica Queens legend. last I seen him he worked at the airport, lived in Rochdale and was doing well. Coolest dude ever.
This is crazy, I remember all this from back in the day, I went to I.S. 59 then Springfield Gardens H.S. and my first job was at Wool Worth right on Merrick Blvd right next to Pop & Kim's store. I remember the Boom Bash Crew, Fat Cat, Supreme and every story in our hip hop history which 50 Cent is now putting on TV today. As a teen, I was seeing Mikey D, Run DMC , The Fat Boys and L.L. with his white drop top Mercedes up and down the boulevard and it was an everyday thing. I had the original underground mix tapes with all the rap battles. MAN thanks for the memories Mikey D! I Too Am A "King From Queens"!
@@PLAYBOYMIKEYD ????...You got me confused...I was there at that Show in Paterson Mickey D's DJ was nice but Royal T ( An up and coming MC in Paterson ) Called Mikey D out back on the stage because when Mikey D finished his song he threw the Mic on the stage....What are you on...
"....for the next few minutes I would like your attention, you're all about to enter Mikey D's rap dimension...." I have been looking for the song, that contain these lyrics, for 35 damn years! If you're from Queens, NY you heard of Mikey D. ...definately a street Hip Hop legend. I still want a LL/ Mikey D mixtape. Paul C, is another Queens, NY Hip Hop producer who was murdered before he got his just due.
I remember Bigger and Deffer (L.A.POSSE). "Im Outta Control" MIKEY D[And the L.A.POSSE), then latter MC BREEEZE[and the L.A.POSSE] and that dude sounds just like MIKEY D.
@:Red-Feather :MoyToy True......However, MC BREEZE was another MIKEY D, but on the West Coast, there's no coincidence. They obviously wanted another "L L"
Mikey D.. You said the TLA Rock thing because everybody in our neighborhood (Laurelton) thought it was you when "It's Yours" came out because TLA Rock sounded like you, so you just ran with it‼️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 - Mark the Phordee Killa 💯
Wowwwww Dude. Good to see you still looking good. I remember when I moved back to 219st from Virginia,my sisters and my dudes was like yo Mikey D blew up crazy! Made Laurelton and the Belo proud. Rest in peace to Wes (Will Sevilles brother!) What you need is the Source! 👍🏾
That label signing rappers to bury them thing actually happened to Phat Doug and Uptown Records.(Heavy D was poppin,Doug was the threat.) Look him up to verify.
Great catch. I wrote No Show because jerry bloodrock of reality records thought it would be a great idea to keep a answer track to the show in-house. Because I was good at making parodies of songs back then, it was a no brainer. There was no real beef, it was just business on the label’s end.
@@PLAYBOYMIKEYD I only have good words for you Mikey, you are a real guy for real. All these stories, it really makes you want to see "The Real Mikey D hisSTORY". Good luck brother. 🔥🔥🔥
