Thank you Jeff and Hannah for putting these videos together. Jeff, you can't help but admire the craftsmanship and quality of work that goes into everything you build. I hope the people you are building this home for will understand and appreciate what they are getting. 'Preciate ya!!
Jeff, my dad built houses in FL. for 40 years. Watching you dig that footer with the step-downs brings back memories. He always called the concrete delivery a "truck load of misery." Thanks for video's
I’ve been building custom homes for 35 years and have never seen stakes drove into the side of the ditch like to hold that step down board . That’s a fantastic idea only thing I can see wrong with it is that I did not think of it .
Looks AWESOME JEFF!!! I about spit my drink all over, when you said , "LOOK" a Hannah track!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Luv everything you guys do, and stand for!!! God Bless Ya'll!!!!👍🤗🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey Jeff and Hannah, It's good to see you Jeff. Love it that your sharing these videos of the house build. Looking forward to seeing this house at the end. As tall as the back of the house, I'm guessing, will be. You could put in a door for storage. It would be a great place to put a riding lawnmower and yard tools till a garage was built. Just a thought. Take care and be safe.
Thanks for this video! It really helps visualizing the step down footers. I watched about 5 other videos but this one gave the best viewpoint for my dumbhead. Your bucket cuts nice in that soil unlike this red Virginia clay I've got! I couldn't find where you laid that block though... anyway.... Thanks again!
Nice rebar and concrete work. I like the saddles you used when placing the rebar. Having placed a lot of concrete you have my respect. Appreciate you sharing.
Thank you Jeff, for raising every southern mans dream girl. Sweet, cute and likes to get dirty with the fellas! That accent LAWD! Love from North Carolina
What an interesting journey your taking us on. Dig a hole, pour some concrete and before too long the Fenix will rise. Looking forward to your next and and next and next uploads Thanks for sharing Love your work
Jeff , makes it looks easy.. If it was anyone could do it. Carpentry is still hard work, even with modern equipment...I'm looking forward to watch the progress.
In Houston, Tx we have termites too. bad, Builders will put galvanized "hats" on masonry foundations to deny termite access. Not slabs, but pier and beam with perimeter foundations.
Looking good! Jeff when You can explain some of the work in more detail so some of us dummies might learn a little something! Lol, lol😊 Thanks a bunch! Preciate Y’all 👍🙏❤️
Jeffbarron70 you are amazing a what you do the step down that you are doing will same alot of Blocks to be lay down respect back to you 🙏 bye 👋 from 🇨🇦 #YSW
Hey Jeff... good to see you back doing a build....looking forward to following the progress and seeing the finished product....and great job on the rebar tie downs;)
I'm going to be building a 40x60 cement block barn. I have to either back fill a lot or do step downs from the high side as it slopes in 3 directions. My concern is that they WON'T MEET when I come around and be level!! I know the concept (haha) but I've never done anything like it before.
Jeff is this going to be your new home or for a customer? Glad to see videos coming out looking good looks nice and warm there only -41F here last weekend just a tad chilly.
As the grade (slope) of ground changes 8” or more inches you form another 8” step. You want to make step in 16” lineal location too so the blocks break with step location saving time and cost of having to cut blocks
I would dig a ditch even if it was six feet deep to keep the footers flat next time. Every place we stepped the footers on my garage, the block wall cracked. And they were extra wide and thick.
Yes I agree I did foundation work for a few years until boss man got sick. And had a guy waddle his arse to the foundation trench that happened to be a little bit over my head. Forget why this section was so deep. But this gentleman hadn't missed many meals in his life time. Well Jeff you probably can guess what happened. It took my boss 10 minutes to get me out was pinned luckily from waist down. And I made the guy leave I'd probably hurt him back in the day. And yes I told him not to come over there and for a good reason why.
Y’all do a wonderful job! My Daddy and Mama’s porches still look like the day y’all put them in! ❤️
This is a very good illustration. Not many UA-cam videos out there demonstrating the step down. Nice Job!

In that new sawmill video he is saying about building a A frame by the river.
Great video thanks
Cool nice layout boss . Carpenter on site.
I think this should be Hannah's new house !
Was just wondering what they get per block nowadays we used to get 75 cents for a#8
Preciate algorithm
Jeff is a bad ass I would not want t to get on his bad side I bet he definitely can whoop some Ass in his day he’s definitely a southern solider
I'm just a Electrician. How do you come up with your locations of your step ups?
As the grade (slope) of ground changes 8” or more inches you form another 8” step. You want to make step in 16” lineal location too so the blocks break with step location saving time and cost of having to cut blocks
Look in good Jeff
I cant wait to move in! Lol
Apeciate y'all
How long does the footers need to set up before you start setting block?
24/48 hours.
Was that Merle's foot print I saw?
💖
No January deer hunts in Bama?
Wheres the water going to drain to?
I am currently doing a front porch build series! I should’ve done step downs like this on my footers. Check the video out and Lmk what you think.
I would dig a ditch even if it was six feet deep to keep the footers flat next time. Every place we stepped the footers on my garage, the block wall cracked. And they were extra wide and thick.
👍 👍
are you doing this without blue prints?
how you set up those batterboards ?
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Jeff do you put fiber in your concrete? just for the record the economy fiber is the same stuff as the good stuff(I worked there)
Cool
Dang Boy you da man, 😂
Jeff are you building that pretty little girl Hannah or new house?
Yes I agree I did foundation work for a few years until boss man got sick. And had a guy waddle his arse to the foundation trench that happened to be a little bit over my head. Forget why this section was so deep. But this gentleman hadn't missed many meals in his life time. Well Jeff you probably can guess what happened. Where’s the inspector ? In NC early 2000,s you could not order concrete without an inspection.
Who are ya'll building this for.
Thank you UA-cam for not hiding this video 😖😤😖
Your house or building and selling?
👏👏👏👏💚💚💚💚
Dumb question from an overseas viewer. Why do you have it built on pillars and so high off the ground?
The ground has a lot of slope and you work from the high side
I am surprised that Hannah didn't fall in and you had to pull her out
Hello Hannah
Jeff is this your house did not here you say!
Is that his daughter or his wife?
