Nah you can't just have a private call for a public rebuke. The comedians Katt named maligned him publicly and damaged his reputation. A private call is not enough, especially when there's no reason to believe they would correct people's perceptions of Katt. A public statement deserves a public response.
None of those dudes “maligned” Katt publicly. As a matter of fact, Katt had BEEN talking bad about these dudes publicly on smaller platforms for YEARS and they hardly responded. And he damaged his own reputation by going to jail like 30 times and getting into multiple fights with multiple people, some of which are online for public view.
How is it that people always manage to ignore the fact that it is Katt who has been throwing shades at others first?

A lot of why the things Katt said really took off is because of the current zeitgeist. Saying things like this 10 or even 5 years ago wouldn’t have the same effect because the time is different. We are in an insane time where idols and celebs people idolized are getting unveiled who they really are. Katt was speaking to the moment and everyone was listening.
The Katt Williams sit down was the first interview I’ve seen on Club Shay Shay. I immediately subscribed to his channel. I watched it in February 2024.

After the pandemic, everyone got used to getting information online and realized everything is online. So this time, people could follow-up and pull receipts to see what wasn't being shown before.
