They all saw what happend with young royals last year, and that was in Sweden/swedish so this show beeing similar was obvious going to be bigger with beeing brittish and already having a fanbase online, I think they were prepared.

I think one reason why Kit Connor is the fan-favorite is not just because he's a sweet guy... which he totally is. I think it's because he is such an incredible actor, he can convey so much without even speaking! And that connection he has with us, makes us love him.
Joe is a great actor as well.

Omg I just binged watched it yesterday from midnight to 6am with my mates and it was amazing. It brought back some memories back when I was a gay little Asian teen from Manchester England. I went through something similar 20 yrs ago. I was just like Charlie to the T. Am kinda still the same as Char to this day lol. I can't wait to see series 2 ASAP plz av become obsessed and addicted with the show x ps I read on tapas and loved the future episode set 10 yrs later. More plz x
I don't think I've ever been so madly in love with a show before.
I mean, series like Friends and HIMYM are jewels in their own right, but this one has tugged at my heartstrings in a way I can't even begin to explain.
I can't pinpoint what exactly it is about the series (or the comic, which I completed in one sitting), but the simplicity, sweetness, poignancy and innocence of it has worked some kind of magic on me.
Maybe another factor is that I could relate to all the characters at some level.
Like Nick, I have taken those "Am I bisexual" quizzes a number of times.
I could identify with his confusion and his feeling of getting overwhelmed and scared.
Like Charlie, I know what it feels like to develop feelings for a friend whose sexuality you're not sure of.
There were countless small (yet priceless) moments between each of the couples (especially Charlie and Nick, of course) that we witnessed throughout the series.
I could see myself in them -- I was reminded of my school years, my first love, and how the most insignificant moments between us are still vividly clear in my memory.
Be it Nick's pen explosion, Charlie's bonding with Nellie, Nick's sudden gesture of hugging a "cuddly" Charlie, Nick's hesitation to touch Charlie's hand while he was asleep, Nick gently removing the mud from an injured Charlie's cheek, Nick calling Charlie "Char", Nick shyly entwining his fingers with Charlie's at a horror film, their awkward laughs and "Why are we like this?"..
Each moment evoked a sense of nostalgia in me of a world I have left behind forever.
A piece of innocence that I'll never own again.
I have probably not gotten attached to fictional characters so much since FRIENDS or HIMYM.
And I don't know why, but the characters being young and inexperienced compared to the main leads of the other series developed in me an inexplicable feeling of affection owards them.
Each character leaves his mark, but the true "Heartstopper" (at least for me) would be Nick.
It was so refreshing to see a typical "jock" character whom most other creators wouldn't hesitate to caricaturize not falling prey to any of the familiar tropes.
There are moments when I simply wanted to reach through the screen and give him a hug.
His honesty, sensitivity, thoughtfulness, self-restraint, childlike innocence and considerate nature bowled me over.
Considering both the comic and the production, Nick will go down as one of the most beloved fictional characters I will remember.
My heart goes out to Charlie too..
Everything he's been through, how it has seeped into his personality making him self-effacing and excessively apologetic and how he and Nick fight against all of it together ❤️.
The very decision of the showmakers not to unnecessarily complicate the series or drag the narrative with redundant subplots has rendered the series almost flawless, so to say.
And the LGBTQ+ centricity of the story enriches it even more - with all the hesitation about "coming out", the fear of judgement, the uncertainty of whether feelings are unrequited or mutual.
I finished all four volumes and I really hope the series does justice to it in the upcoming seasons too.
Series dealing with LGBTQ representation and mental health issues have been made many a time before. But the very fact that we got to look at these issues from the perspective of an inexperienced teenager augments the effectivity of the portrayal in a way I can't explain.
Nick's efforts to tell Charlie about his eating disorder, his mom standing solidly by him as he tried as he tried to help Charlie, Charlie's subsequent spiralling and his journey (which is beautifully pointed out to be likely a lifelong one) left an indelible impact on me.
And don't get me started on Nick and Charlie😭.
I can't get enough of their goofy smiles and shy glances at each other, their passionate hugs, their teasing and their beautiful, beautiful love.
Count me among the biggest shippers omfg🤧.
And I loved how the comic kinda blended into the series through the cartoon fires and sparks, animated snowfall, the sand and the sea at the beach, and of course the leaves🍃.
Not getting over any of it anytime soon.
Also the SOUNDTRACK!
Probably the best since HIMYM that a soundtrack blended so well with the series and its characters.

there ain't nothing more precious that their mutual insults and this hole bromance that gets extremely funny since they are a couple on the series.

oh, yea lol I used to watch him a lot actually.
The first time I started feeling so unsure about my gender, I watched his videos which really helped me a lot since I was still kind of scared at the thought of being trans and how others would have viewed me if I came out. I mean... I still feel that fear sometimes, now that I HAVE came out..but thanks to him and many other trans youtubers, I feel more like my authentic self and that’s just a relief lol 👍

One of the best series streaming. Well done...actors great and sends some very important messages to teens today. Every teenager should watch this series since it is well thought out and makes common sense...which in today's world is hard to come by. Nick and Charlie are excellent....very likable and is the type of relationship that everyone should be lucky enough to have.

I think Kit's regular pushing his hair back is a sort of nervous tick. It makes him feel comfortable. Some people have these ticks. Joe in interviews usually sits with both hands clasped together in his lap. That makes him feel comfortable.

Joe and Bash go to events together, wear each other’s clothes, and are just so much more comfortable with each other (Joe sitting in Bash’s lap with Bash resting on Joe’s shoulder, Joe with his head in Bash’s lap, etc.).
Joe and Kit have more of a sibling energy off screen.

Bruh this show has helped me so much, to accept who I really am, it gives me so much comfort Everytime I watch it. When Nick was trying to figure himself out, I'd related so much, when I was around 10, I started getting these feelings I didn't recognise, and they were towards girls. At the time, I new gay and lesbian people existed, but that was it. I felt like I didn't fit, because I knew I liked boys too. Eventually i found out about Bisexuality, and I started to feel like it was okay, even if I was alone. They're both such amazing actors and people, and I thank them for their work. :)

I loved this story to an embarrassing level. I have never seen a movie or show, (and I am a huge~! Book,
Theater, TV and Movie fan, I believe that the thing that separates humans from
animals is our story telling), where every single actor, every single seen and
every single cinema graphic was freakin PERFECT. This offering was cathartic for me. I have been out for 44 years, but this fulfilled something in me that has
been missing all along. I have seen several other gay love stories, but this is the
most innocent, sweet and wholesome love story I have ever seen. When I say that I loved it to an embarrassing level, (Dear God~!) I mean,
I binge watched it 8 times in a week and a half. (and I have only ever binge
watched one other show, ever, and that was only once through.) What sets this master piece aside from all other gay stories is both that
it is one of the first none tragic love stories and it has not one single seen
for the prurient of heart. Just awesome... Many tears of joy...
absolutely loved this series... last episode though gave me anxiety because of the title Heartstopper... i was on constant high alert that either Nick or Charlie was going to die.. .. so glad neither did....have watched it a number of times again since.....

I felt like their on screen chemistry is wayyyyy more than off screen though. Also in most of these interview they're definitely trying to contain whats really in their head so not to say the wrong thing. You know the cancel culture is brutal.
